Chairman Dean – What Planet is this Moron From?
Now that I have the exciting personal news covered, it’s time to get back to work. I took Saturday off to spend with my wife’s family so that we could inform them of our good news, so it is time for me to play catch up.
Chairman Dean, in the grand tradition of socialist leaders, has a complete and utter detachment from reality and truth. In a speech before the New Hampshire Democratic Party, Chairman Dean said some things about Republicans that actually better describes the Democrats. After all, it was the Democrats who held onto power in the House of Representatives for over 40 years in spite of the fact that deficits rose to all time highs. In spite of what the Democrat misinformation machine, aka the MSM, would have you believe, Presidents do not spend money in this country. Congress does according to Article I of the United States Constitution.
All Bills for raising Revenue shall originate in the House of Representatives; but the Senate may propose or concur with amendments as on other Bills.
Every Bill which shall have passed the House of Representatives and the Senate, shall, before it become a law, be presented to the President of the United States: If he approve he shall sign it, but if not he shall return it, with his Objections to that House in which it shall have originated, who shall enter the Objections at large on their Journal, and proceed to reconsider it. If after such Reconsideration two thirds of that House shall agree to pass the Bill, it shall be sent, together with the Objections, to the other House, by which it shall likewise be reconsidered, and if approved by two thirds of that House, it shall become a Law.Article I Section 7
The Dems held on to power for 40+ years specifically to hold on to that power, the power to raise and spend money.
During that same 40 year period, let’s analyze the successes and failures of Democrat Presidents shall we.
President John F. Kennedy started his term as President of the United States with a bang. His Inaugural Speech which included the phrase, “Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country,” is an idea which was quickly abandoned by his successor Lyndon B. Johnson.
President Lyndon B. Johnson proposed the Great Society which time has proven fails to produce the desired outcome and actually has created a whole new class of American people, the dependency class.
Before we move on, let’s talk a little bit about a little conflict that got the latter pretty much the boot from office, Vietnam.
It was JFK who first sent US military advisers into South Vietnam. Upon the assassination of JFK on November 22, 1963, Lyndon B. Johnson took the reigns of power and escalated US involvement in that conflict. An actual civil war, the communist North Vietnamese were fighting to reunify their nation under the rule of a communist regime. Vietnam was cut in two after World War II and separated for political reasons in order to avoid just such a civil war. But it broke out anyway. Johnson, wishing to protect US economic interests, sent hundreds of thousands of US troops to Vietnam during his Presidency. In 1968, after a poor showing in the New Hampshire Primary, Lyndon B. Johnson made an announcement on national television in which he stated, “I will not seek, nor will I accept, the nomination of my party for another term as your President.” Why? He failed to govern.
Vietnam was a failure because he attempted to micro-manage a war from the Oval Office. The Great Society was a bust when most of the nation’s poorest young men were sent to Vietnam to die in a war in which the President would not allow them to win. This divided America along racial lines and prompted rioting in the streets. The 1968 Democratic National Convention was plagued by a massive riot in the streets of Chicago. Protesters participating in the riot actually breached the security at the convention and disrupted the proceedings. Tell those people that LBJ and the Democrat machine was a success in the 1960s.
Moving on to the next one-term Democrat President, Jimmy Carter. Anyone who suggests that the Peanut Man’s term was a success needs to review the 1980 Presidential Election results. Under Jimmy “I have lust in my heart” Carter the United States entered a recession rivaling the Great Depression in its depth and reach across class lines. This nation was in an energy crisis, we had double digit unemployment, and 22% interest rates. No gasoline, odd and even rationing, and lines around the block to fuel up. The effect of the energy crisis drove up inflation at a rate this nation could not handle. Once Ronald Reagan beat his socks off in 1980, the energy crises subsided and the Congress, controlled by the Democratic Party, in its infinate wisdom enacted laws which cut off domestic oil production and expanded the importation of oil from the Middle East. Failure to govern, yes one of our political parties have proven time and time again that they cannot govern. The last truely successful Democrat President of the United States was Franklin D. Roosevelt who began the expansion of the federal government and eliminated the system of government set up by our forefathers. We are no longer a Constitutional Federal Republic thanks to FDR. As a Conservative who desires a return to the Federalist system of a Republic, FDR was a failure.
But some may say, Clinton did alright… After-all didn’t he end the deficit and create a short-lived budget surplus? No he didn’t. The budgets which produced the surplus were enacted by a Republican controlled Congress. In the event you have forgotten, Article I Section 7 gives the power to raise revenue and spend revenue to the Congress, NOT THE PRESIDENT.
Clinton too was a failure. Look at what he actually did.
- He downsized our military leaving us vulnerable and open to attack.
- He weakened our intelligence services and ignored their advice when warned about the threat posed by one Osama bin Laden.
- When attacked in 1993 by bin Laden’s organization, Clinton did nothing.
- When the US Embassies in Kenya and Tanzania were attacked he bombed an aspirin factory killing a night watchman in Africa and some empty tents in Afghanistan.
- When the USS Cole was bombed he did nothing.
- He involved the United States in a civil conflict in Kosavo
- He permitted Saddam Hussein to continue to thumb his nose at the cease fire agreement and UN Resolutions to disarm and allow inspectors.
- His Infestation was plagued by nineteen, that’s 19, scandals involving his personal life before and while in office and his conduct as President of the United States which led to his eventual impeachment for perjury when he openly lied in a federal deposition (the same felony charge that sent Bush Administration insider I. Scooter Libby to prison). Unlike what the MSM and the Democrats want you to believe, it was about his committing perjury NOT having sex with Monica Lewinsky.
- He signed into law the largest (to that date) tax increase in US history which would have started this nation down the road to recession as the Carter Infestation did in 1977 if not for the Republican Congressional majority elected in 1994. Had spending stayed at the levels advocated by Clinton this nation would have entered a recession. But it didn’t.
Clinton was a failure.
Now we have another Democratic Majority in Congress which will, if it gets its way, allow the tax cuts which have sustained this nation in war time and high energy costs. The Dems say that those cuts only benefited the rich which is a load of bull. Those same tax packages created the 10% tax bracket and lowered taxes on both the middle and upper classes as well. The tax breaks given to the wealthiest Americans have created and maintained steady job and economic growth in spite of $100 oil and a war. But if given the chance, Dems will raise the taxes sustaining this economy and return us to the days of the Peanut Man.
The Congress controlled by this Democratic Majority failed to get anything of substance done in 2007. Their one claim to fame, the increase in the federal minimum wage which could not pass on its own merit. It had to be slipped into an emergency military spending authorization package. Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid… failures.
This all said, Chairman Dean had the audacity to say…
“Republicans may not know how to govern, but they have made it clear time and again they will do anything to win and hold on to power.”
So what planet did he come from?
