Catching Up and Tax Cuts
This past weekend I was again out of town and out of touch so-to-speak on political issues. Unfortunately, the town where my wife is from has no cell phone coverage for my carrier, so even my blogging compatriots could not get in touch with me nor can I submit articles via mobile device. I don’t have internet access and no cable news when we visit either. So I literally am in the dark.
Today I’m catching up on the news of the weekend and will be formulating my thoughts throughout the remainder of the day. Hopefully, later tonight I may have a worth while post to contribute for your enjoyment. Until then, I will say that I’m disappointed in South Carolina, the Packers, and the Chargers. I’m amused at the results out of Nevada and the Democrat debate from last night. I am irritated at callers to the Neal Boortz show this morning as well as some of the McCain and Obama pandering being done by callers to Rush Limbaugh this afternoon.
Speaking of Boortz, I have some problems with his endorsement of The Huckster because I believe that he and his listeners have fallen for Huckster’s smoke and mirrors game on The Fair Tax. That said, Neal gave an excellent explanation of the Bush Tax Cuts and who benefits from them. But he failed to remind people of one thing about them. He failed to mention the creation of the 10% bracket. Every time on of these public leftards mentions that the Bush Tax Cuts only benefited the rich they fail to remember that they created the 10% tax bracket.
As these public leftards spout about the expiration of the Bush Tax Cuts and raising taxes on the rich they fail to tell those who currently are in the 10% bracket that they too will be getting a tax increase. As a matter of fact a disproportional tax increase of 50%. That is a higher tax increase than the so-called rich.
Neal did a good job of explaining how the so-called rich pay a larger over-all tax bill with lower rates than at higher rates, but he missed the low income bracket and the suffering that would occur if the Bush Tax Cuts are allowed to expire.
So the next time you hear some idiot parroting what Clinton, Obama, Edwards, et al are saying about taxes, remember that the Bush Tax Cuts created the 10% bracket and their expiration would give those in that bracket a HUGE tax increase.
