The “Bush Lied Men Died” Bamboozle Debunked

With President George W. Bush’s final State of the Union Address coming tonight, it would be prudent to pay a little attention to a common misconception dominant in the minds of the politically apathetic American lemming*, namely “Bush lied about Iraq’s WMD’s”. There is no evidence that President George W. Bush lied about anything. Did he act on incomplete or inaccurate data? I think that is a more accurate explanation rather than the blanket indictment that has been allowed to ferment and rot the minds of those politically apathetic American lemmings* for the past 4 1/2 years.

Dinesh D’Souza of the Hoover Institute has written a post at TownHall.com that deals with this very topic. He says in summary…

As a statesman, he had to act in the moving current of events. He didn’t have the luxury of hindsight. To those leftist pundits who say, “Knowing what we know now, President Bush, why did you do what you did then?” Bush’s answer is, “Obviously I didn’t know what we know now.” Acting against the somber backdrop of 9/11, Bush made a hard call based on an assessment of the intelligence provided to him.

He may have acted in haste, and he may have acted in error. But even this is not so clear. Do you recall recent reports from the CIA that Iran stopped working on its nuclear program in 2003? The reports were interpreted as a reversal for the Bush administration, because Bush has allegedly been trying to raise public concerns about Iran’s nuclear program. But many people forgot to ask why Iran’s mullahs decided to suspend their nuclear program in 2003. That happens to be the time that America invaded Iraq. So it’s quite possible that the Iranian mullahs were deterred from their nuclear ambitions because of the fear that the U.S. military might call on them next.

Whatever you think of this analysis, there is no evidence that Bush made his decision about the Iraq war in bad faith. Therefore the claim that Bush lied is itself a lie.

Something that even Mr. D’Souza doesn’t even mention is that Saddam Hussein allowed the illusion of his chemical weapons program to continue in order to keep Iran from invading Iraq. This was the costly mistake on Hussein’s part which led to his nation being invaded by the most powerful and best trained military power the world has ever known. This little tidbit has a lot to do with the inaccuracy of the intelligence that led to the US led invasion in 2003. So, the next time one of these politically apathetic American lemmings starts in with “Bush lied” etc… Remember these facts and counter the mental midget with them.

A lie is only a lie, if and only if, the person telling the falsehood knows his/her statement is false.

An actual Presidential lie:

Now, I have to go back to work on my State of the Union speech. And I worked on it until pretty late last night. But I want to say one thing to the American people. I want you to listen to me. I’m going to say this again. I did not have sexual relations with that woman, Miss Lewinsky. I never told anybody to lie, not a single time – never. These allegations are false. And I need to go back to work for the American people. – Slick Billy Bob Bubba January 29, 1998

And he admitted his lie…

As you know, in a deposition in January, I was asked questions about my relationship with Monica Lewinsky. While my answers were legally accurate, I did not volunteer information. Indeed, I did have a relationship with Ms. Lewinsky that was not appropriate. In fact, it was wrong. It constituted a critical lapse in judgment and a personal failure on my part for which I am solely and completely responsible. – Slick Billy Bob Bubba August 17, 1998

This is an example of an actual lie because Slick Billy Bob Bubba knew when he said, “I did not have sexual relations with that woman, Miss Lewinsky” that he did have sexual relations with her. We know this because the former Philanderer-in-Chief admitted it himself.

And to be honest, it in itself is a lie as well. Slick Billy Bob Bubba said, “As you know, in a deposition in January, I was asked questions about my relationship with Monica Lewinsky. While my answers were legally accurate, I did not volunteer information.” Well that is not what the deposition reveals.

Q. Did you have an extramarital sexual affair with Monica Lewinsky?

A. No.

Q. If she told someone that she had a sexual affair with you beginning in November of 1995, would that be a lie?

A. It’s certainly not the truth. It would not be the truth.

Q. I think I used the term “sexual affair.” And so the record is completely clear, have you ever had sexual relations with Monica Lewinsky, as that term is defined in Deposition Exhibit 1, as modified by the Court.

A. I have never had sexual relations with Monica Lewinsky. I’ve never had an affair with her.

That doesn’t seem so legally accurate when he said himself on national television that he did have “a relationship with Miss Lewinsky that was not appropriate.”

Again… A lie is only a lie, if and only if, the person telling the falsehood knows his/her statement is false.

Anyone trying to say that Mr. Bush’s actions based on inaccurate intelligence constitutes a lie is lying to themselves and those who their attempting to pollute the thought processes of. Liberalism is the most contagious mental disorder known to man. The only cure for this madness is to be informed of the truth and avoidance of the fiction distributed by the MSM and organizations such as the ACLU, NOW, organized labor, MoveOn.org and other institutions of stupidity.

*Politically apathetic American lemming: (n) An individual who for the most part pays no attention to the actual political workings of this nation, has no grasp as to what is actually written in the US Constitution, and would rather allow their political leanings to be hand fed to them via the liberal MSM, organized labor, the ACLU, NOW, MoveOn.org, et al which utilize class envy and class warfare to fuel and perpetuate the movement of this nation toward socialism through ignorance of fact.
