Huckster - You’ve Officially Over-Stayed Your Welcome

The Huckster has indeed over-extended (to use the modern day PC verbiage) his welcome. He has hung around this primary season about a month longer than he should have creating what I, and millions like me, hope is a false sense of inevitability in the Juan MexiCain campaign. At this point all Huckster is doing is splintering off votes from Mitt Romney. And I say this with a level of confidence as certain as day is light and night is dark.

For sure, there is a bigoted element in the supporters of Huckster that will refuse to vote for a Mormon. This I also say with a level of confidence as certain as day is light and night is dark. Huckster plays on the evangelical notion that if it isn’t written in whatever officially approved bible they embrace, it is not so. These are the same morons who are willing to ignore 2000 years of Christian tradition in the name of a myopic theology known as Sole Scriptura. To this minority, yes I said minority, of Americans, the most qualified person in this race to be our next President is not worth their vote. They would rather back someone who has the chances of winning this race somewhat equivalent to that of Mahmoud Iwannajihad becoming an Israeli citizen.

In the latest Rasmussen Daily Presidential Tracking Poll (2/4/08), Huckster is polling at 22% nationally. John “The Breck Girl” Edwards was polling higher than that in a 3 person race before he dropped out. Huckster is in a 4 man race and he can’t match Johnny’s numbers in spite of winning Iowa.

In that same Rasmussen Daily Presidential Tracking Poll (2/4/08), Mitt Romney and Juan MexiCain are neck and neck. The poll has MexiCain up 33% to Romney’s 30%. But with a +/-4% margin of error, that is a literal statistical dead heat.

So why is the Huckster sticking it out? Now I don’t have any proof of this but the Conventional Wisdom prevailing in the Conservative Blogosphere seems to come to the conclusion that he’s sticking because of some yet undisclosed back-room agreement with Juan MexiCain. I understand that this is tin-foil hat wearing conspiracy theorist stuff, but it seems to make sense.

Huckster and Juan are using the evangelical Conservatives’ loyalty for one of their own to splinter the conservative vote which would naturally go to Mitt Romney if Huckster wasn’t playing religion bigot. Notice that Huckster has been on Romney for the whole race. He was the one who first attacked Romney for being a Mormon. It has been Huckster who has made this a contest about religious beliefs not Mitt. Juan is soaking up the benefits from this division and collecting the delegates to the convention.

I firmly believe that Huckster will win one, maybe two, states later today and will publicly acknowledge the futility of his campaign by the end of the week. This in spite of the fact that his campaign has been a futile effort since he announced his intentions of seeking the nomination.

For us FredHeads who are now supporting Romney, we can only hope that today is a split with Mitt taking a majority of delegates from Juan. This will throw the nomination into the hands of the voters in the late voting states like Ohio.

And what about Ron Paul (in the event you’ve forgotten, he’s the 4th in this race)? Sorry to inform the PaulBots infesting the Blogosphere but his measly 6% (no wonder he’s so easily over-looked) and a second place finish in Nevada isn’t going to quite be enough to snag the nomination. The Ron Paul campaign is another exercise in futility.

UPDATE 0445 EST

Discounting the 51 delegates which have been awarded to those who have dropped out or soon will (Paul and Huckster) the magic number to secure the nomination is 570. Romney needs 493 and MexiCain needs 477. To say that MexiCain has this wrapped up is not only pre-mature, it is a down right lie.

I am not interested in your bigoted views of Mormonism Mr. German if that is your real name since you failed to obey the Comment Policy I can assume that you probably don’t have the guts to give your real name here.

Since you share The Huckster’s bigoted views of Mormonism I’d hate to hear what you think of me seeing how I’m a Roman Catholic. Say what you will, but Huckster’s measly 22% cannot secure the nomination. And that is what this thread is about. Not about your evangelical views about non-Protestant Christian Religions. The word Christian btw means follower of Christ. If Mormons in anyway profess a belief is God the Son, then by definition they are Christian.

Now that you’ve gotten me off on a rant about semantics, I think I’ll close with a warning. Choose to comment here again outside of the policies set forth in the Comment Policy, it will result in the banning of your IP. If you use proxies, I have a way of getting rid of those as well. Eventually you will tire of trying and I’ll win so trust me, you don’t want a fight with me.

And just so you know, I know that you spent only 3 mins and 28 secs on my site. You wrote 1,050 words in 3:28 so I know that you didn’t read my entire thread. I know that you visited 2 pages dealing with the Huckster. I know that you got here from an aggrigator. I know you use Opera 9.25 for a browser and your OS is Windows Vista. Your screen resolution is 1280 x 1024. I know what town your IP is registered to in LA so don’t think you can fool me.

    Pretty close to the truth.

To answer your question, Huckabee, a key figure in the SBC anti-mormon convention held in SLC in 1998, remains in the race for one reason only, Mitt Romney is a Mormon. End of story. If Romney was a Catholic, Huckabee would have dropped out weeks ago. John McCain just happens to be the benefactor. It’s a story that NEEDS to be covered by the MSM.

Thanks for your observations Michael. But remember next time, you must include a url to a site that you own and contribute to regularly.

    Updated…

As I reflect on your comment Michael, I’m not sure it is accurate to say that if Romney were Catholic Huckster would have dropped out weeks ago. We are talking about someone who is of the mindset that the Catholic Church is the whore of Babylon when in fact he belongs to a church started by farmers. I’m a Roman Catholic and I can look past someone’s religious preference (except for Huckster) as long as they are willing to make it a non-issue I’ll treat is as a non-issue.

Gov. Romney has had to go on the defensive from the beginning because of this angry person. I’m convinced, that the Huckster is one angry fellow. He’s angry that he gets called out on his tax history. He’s angry that he gets portrayed for what he is, a pandering bigot. He’s angry because he doesn’t understand finance. He’s angry because he is out witted, out smarted, out classed and pretty much out done by Juan MexiCain let alone Mitt Romney.

    That’s my 1/50th of a dollar.

Whoever you are… No I’m not young, not a hothead, and yes I like to rant. But my rants are put together with lots of evidence.

First, Huckster is a “former” Southern Baptist Pastor. Well, my personal experience with a member of the SBC laity within the past 4 months is consistent with Huckster’s anti Mormon rhetoric. I was told in no uncertain terms that the Catholic Church is NOT, yes you read that correctly NOT, a Christian Church.

Secondly, it was Mr. Huckster who played the religion card.

Third, he does not have a degree in theology as he attempted to pass off. He has a degree in Radio and Television Communications and dropped out of Seminary to pursue a career in tele-evangilism. He did eventually attend another Seminary and received a degree in Biblical Studies. That is NOT, let me repeat that, NOT a degree in theology.

He is a tax raiser. In spite of his recent support of The Fair Tax, he raised taxes on Arkansans 47% as governor. He is pro-amnesty hence his speech about villifying aliens for coming here. He is a nanny stater. Hence his raising taxes on tobacco and transfats.

There is nothing, let me repeat that, NOTHING Conservative about The Huckster.

I don’t know who you are and I don’t care, but this is my forum and it has rules. Bloviate again on my forum and you will be banned.
