America Fails to Learn from Her Mistakes

With the untimely demise of the Romney for President 2008 campaign, the Republican Nomination for President of the United States has been handed to Juan MexiCain on a silver platter. This sparks a realization about my country that I would have thought in the information age wasn’t possible. This nation fails to learn from her mistakes.

An economic crisis is looming on the horizon. Oil prices are on the rise because of failed energy policy after failed energy policy has left us more dependent upon foreign oil than ever. Iran is flexing muscle in the Middle East and foreigners are flowing across our borders like water over Niagara Falls. The Congress is failing to fulfill their obligation to balance our budget and we still have troops in harm’s way. With the exception of the Global War on Terrorism, the conditions in this country resemble that of 1976.

Conservatives allowed ourselves to be fractured by a bigoted Preacher from Arkansas. Building on a wave of Southern Baptist and Evangelical endorsements Mikey the Huckster directly prevented our only hope of getting a Nominee that could have stayed off the economic fall we are about to take. He made claims of wanting to implement a tax reform policy that is very popular with Fiscal Conservatives and Libertarians in order to mask his past tax and spend ways. And in spite of the revelation of his past, The Huckster continued to draw Neal Boortz fanatics into his sham of a candidacy.

Knowing that Huckster is out as well, even though he refuses to acknowledge it, brings me to my original point that this nation is doomed to repeat the mistakes of the Carter Infestation. Whether this nation elects Juan MexiCain, Barack Obama, or Hillary Clinton, that term will be limited to 1 because of the recession that is coming. If we are going to have Carter Part II, I would prefer that it be another Democrat because then we can step back in and save the party from its own destruction.
