Goodbye Friend
Last year I made a major move in my life. In January of 2007 I moved from a small town in North East Ohio called Ashtabula to the moderately sized city of Dayton Ohio. At the time, I was just months from completing the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults in the Catholic Church and I was worried that I’d have to start all over again. The local Church allowed me to continue on my path as if I had began down here. Only one wrinkle, I needed to have a new Sponsor.
Since I didn’t know anyone down here yet, the Church picked one for me. His name was Dick Seizer. Dick was a life long “cradle” Catholic who had strong faith. A veteran of World War II he would tell me stories of rapidly conducted Masses because of enemy activity and other anecdotes. He was a good man.
I pray that God accepts this worthy servant into his loving care. Goodbye Dick.
