New York Times Feeling the Backlash
Today’s New York Times smear article on John McCain, an alleged improper relationship, and the rehashing of the Keating Five fiasco utilizing unsubstantiated “sources” is uniting the Republican base like nothing that McCain himself could possibly do. Even I am seriously reconsidering my position on his candidacy. My only hope is that McCain understands that the impending support from people like me is due to this smear that is being recognized as a smear.
This hit piece that appeared on the front page of the Times was actually in the works in December but the they sat on the story claiming the inability to substantiate the claims of infidelity. In fact, the article only alluded to one without actually stating that there was one. The Senator has gone on the record denying any such of a “relationship” existed and the right side of the political spectrum will tend to believe a war hero over the traitorous New York Times any day of the week.
All the news that’s fit to print my left big toe. This article is something that the common person would expect out of the National Enquirer not the perceived most influential paper in the nation.

Just because McCain is being attacked by the same media that he pandered to for years and that selected him as the Republican nominee is no reason to change your mind about supporting him. As I titled a blog post today, “Those who live by the press die by the press.” No one should be surprised at what the Times did. Did you really expect anything else?
Also, earlier this month McCain, along with Huckabee, was lying about a comment by Mitt Romney regarding “timelines” in Iraq. He’s also been lying about his own record. Even if McCain is a war hero, which I haven’t heard enough about his biography to really know, that doesn’t keep him from being a liar.
