Senate to Vote on Anti-War Legislation Today; Dems Contimplate Next Step

‘If at first you don’t succeed try try again’ the old platitude says and that seems to be the motivation behind Senate Democrats. While many pieces of legislation sit dormant on the Senate President’s table and important appointments (including 4 of 6 seats on the Federal Elections Commission Board) go un-addressed by the Senate, Senate Democrats continue to waste time on these symbolic votes which end up going nowhere.

So what are they voting on? A withdrawal date for Iraq.

Yes, they are playing that old worn out tune again. Like a radio station that plays a tune over and over again until the bulk of their audience hates it, the Senate leadership is clinging to immediate withdrawal votes.

I’m sorry to inform the Senate but they still haven’t the power to move any troops anywhere. They can either vote to fund or not to fund operations. That’s it.

Voting to not fund their operations would be political suicide and they know it. Beyond Code Pink and a few tin-foil hat wearing lemmings over at the Daily POS and the DUummys, there is no support in this country for cutting off funding to deployed soldiers in harm’s way. So they are stuck.

What gets me is that Dems are now contemplating what their next move is? They have no move. Not according to Article I of the US Constitution.

Teddy “The Lush” Kennedy mentioned two years ago that Iraq is a quagmire. No Teddy, the Senate is a quagmire.

Harry,

You are doing a fine job of showing the American people that you are incapable of governing. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again expecting a different outcome.
