With all the in-fighting within the Democrat Party over this nomination, this begs the question; Are they going to be ready for the General Election? Seriously, the Democrat Party is so indecisive one must wonder if they’ll have time to pull it off.
The advantage of having the a nominee selected now is that he is able to begin his run at the General now. By the time the Dems have this all figured out there will be only 8 weeks left. Either Hillary Clinton or Barack Hussein Obama will only have 8 weeks to put together something against McCain directly before the election. Before then, they will be too busy beating on each other to worry about McCain.
Sure they will refer to him. Sure they both will be running against him. BUT, their time will be divided as they run against each other. That being said, this is the perfect time for McCain to raise money and make a run for November. Since he has been declared the nominee by the RNC, he is able to tap into the funds that they’ve raised. The RNC has out raised the DNC in national party fund raising and that promises to be an advantage to McCain. Benefit to the DNC is this undecided race for the nomination. Let me explain.
Since they can’t tap into the money that the DNC has raised, the DNC’s money will stay put until the convention in late August. Since they haven’t raised as much as the RNC (to this point), that benefits the DNC and places a larger burden on Clinton and Obama if they choose to dedicate any ad time to McCain rather than each other. Both have shown to be excellent fund raisers but will they have enough left to make it to August.
You have to wonder as long as they are undecided, they cannot tap into those DNC funds to go after McCain. And because they can’t, their contributors will begin to max out their allowable contributions for the primary election which is only $2,300 per person. Will there be enough supporters to fund this protracted campaign? Remember, the season got off to an early start and is now reaching it’s fund raising limits. There are not that many who support the Democrat candidates who have enough disposable income to fund this protracted campaign. There is a limit.
Will they be ready for November? Or will they stall before the convention?
The Dems can’t tap into the funds of the DNC until after a nominee is decided.
