FoxNews.com is reporting that Silda Wall Spitzer is urging her husband to not resign amid the flurry of people within and without his own Party urging him to do so quickly. I’m not sure if this is the “Tammy Wynette Stand By Your Man” defense of her philandering hubby or if she wishes to see him go through the embarrassing ordeal of an impeachment or not; but one thing is certain. Unless he resigns today, he will be impeached.
The New York Times reports Silda Wall Spitzer is urging her disgraced husband not to resign, according to close aides of the governor.
Legislative Democrats in New York will support an impeachment called for by Republicans and they are on record as saying so.
This comes as the chorus grows for him to quit and state Republicans threaten to begin impreachment preceedings if he doesn’t step down in 24 hours.
New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer faced a crescendo of calls for him to step down Tuesday as sources told the Associated Press that Spitzer had paid tens of thousands of dollars as a repeat customer of a high-priced prostitution service.
Republican James Tedisco was on Fox’s Hannity and Colmes lastnight…
“We believe it is an illegal activity he has been involved with.
“We’re going to give him 24 to 48 hours to do the right thing, and the right thing is to resign because he has been compromised. If that’s not the case … we’re going to ask the speaker to start impeachment proceedings”
The report on FoxNews.com also suggests that Spitzer may have spent up to $80,000 on prostitutes over a 6 year period.
The Associated Press, quoting unnamed law enforcement officials, said Spitzer’s running tab for the trysts could have been as high as $80,000.
Earlier Tuesday, the New York Post reported that Spitzer has been soliciting prostitutes at least since 2002, according to unnamed sources.
This man’s life is in the toilet and the quicker he can get it out of the limelight of public scrutiny the better it will be for him. Perhaps Silda Wall Spitzer is the Hillary Clinton type who sees Elliot as an avenue of advancement for herself and blind to the realities of the situation. One thing that can be said for Billy Bob Bubba amid all of this scandal in New York, at least Monica and the others weren’t hookers.
Love Client #9 has another name the news reports to us as well. It seems that he registered with the hotel as “Charles Fox”. If find it incredibly ironic that the former Attorney General of New York, the man who held white collar criminals is such disdain would himself find himself guilty of a crime, violations of the Mann Act. Didn’t he learn anything from his time as a prosecutor? Evidently not because he got caught with his hands, both of them, in the proverbial cookie jar.
He’s going to be hung out to dry and it will be in the public eye. What remains to be seen is whether he will also lose his job forcibly in the public eye as well. Spitzer needs to cut his losses and get out now. So much for being a Super-delegate. Sorry Hillary.
