Obama: ‘I Was in Miami Addressing La Raza’

A news story on Newsmax.com yesterday suggested that Barack Obama was in attendance at the Trinity Church of Christ in July of 2007 where Rev. J. Wright delivered one of his divisive sermons tin foil hat wearing/race baiting rants.

From Newmax.com:

In fact, Obama was present in the South Side Chicago church on July 22 last year when Jim Davis, a freelance correspondent for Newsmax, attended services along with Obama. [See: ”Obama’s Church: Cauldron of Division.”]

In his sermon that day, Wright tore into America, referring to the “United States of White America” and lacing his sermon with expletives as Obama listened. Hearing Wright’s attacks on his own country, Obama had the opportunity to walk out, but Davis said the senator sat in his pew and nodded in agreement.

Addressing the Iraq war, Wright thundered, “Young African-American men” were “dying for nothing.” The “illegal war,” he shouted, was “based on Bush’s lies” and is being “fought for oil money.”

Obama’s most famous celebrity backer, Oprah Winfrey began attending Wright’s church in 1984. Last year, Newsmax magazine reported that Winfrey abruptly stopped attending years ago, and suggested that she did so to distance herself from Wright’s inflammatory rhetoric. She soon found herself a target of Wright, who excoriated her for having broken with “traditional faith.”

Didn’t Barack wonder why? I mean if the most famous member of my church defects, I’d wonder why?

Today Obama is claiming that he wasn’t at the church on July 22, 2007 citing that his schedule had him in Miami. But the Newsmax Freelancer was in attendance and claimed in August of 2007 that he was indeed there. Who are we to believe? The man on the hot seat who claims now that he wasn’t there? Or a witness who wrote in an article in August of 2007 that says he was there?

From FoxNews.com:

Barack Obama issued a firm denial Monday to a report that he was in church in Chicago last July when his controversial pastor delivered an anti-white sermon.

Doubts were cast on the story Monday as records showed the Democratic presidential contender was in Miami that day.

On the “fact check” portion of Obama’s campaign Web site, the campaign states: “Fact: Obama Did Not Attend Services on July 22.”

Reports circulated over the weekend that Obama had attended the fiery sermon by the Rev. Jeremiah Wright Jr. But a copy of Obama’s schedule viewed by FOX News as well as video of Obama speaking appear to place him in Miami that day at a convention of the National Council of La Raza.

A National Council of La Raza official recalls Obama arriving on time that day for a 1:30 p.m. event that was part of the group’s annual national convention.

There ya go. He skipped his own Pastor’s anti-American racist rhetoric to address a group who is racist. La Raza?!? I mean if you are going to have an alibi for not attending a racist speech it really shouldn’t be that he was giving a speech to another racist organization. But that is where he says he was.

At this point I think we can agree that the only substance in Obama’s rhetoric is being refuted. The only substance in his campaign has been the character angle. Between Wright and La Raza, Obama is proving that he lacks character.

Beware Barack, you are reaching maximum temperature. The fork is about to be inserted.
