McCain v Gore? It is Possible

US Representative Tim Mahoney (D FL-16) is claiming that should the Democrat Convention in late August be brokered, a “compromise candidate” may be selected as the nominee. Who could that be according to Mahoney? None other than High Priest Al Gore of the Church of Global Warming of Modern Day Idiots (MDI). Yes you read that right. It is possible that neither Barack Hussein Obama nor Hillary Clinton will be the nominee.

From TCPalm:

“If it (the nomination process) goes into the convention, don’t be surprised if someone different is at the top of the ticket,” Mahoney said.

A compromise candidate could be someone such as former vice president Al Gore, Mahoney said last week during a meeting with this news organization’s editorial board.

If either Clinton or Obama suggested to a deadlocked convention a ticket of Gore-Clinton or Gore-Obama, the Democratic Party would accept it, Mahoney said.

Mahoney is one of these now famous Super-Delegates that the Democrat Party uses to insure that their constituents actually vote for the right person (in the minds of the Party elite anyway).

With the nose dive that Obama has taken in the past couple of weeks, it is more possible now that the Democrat Convention may end up brokered. As of today, the Rasmussen Daily Tracking Poll has Clinton leading Obama (nationally) by 3 percentage points. In theoretical head-to-head match-ups with McCain, both Dems are losing come November.

According to Rasmussen Reports, McCain leads Clinton in a head-to-head match-up by 5 percentage points. McCain is leading Obama by 9 percentage points in that same poll. In the hypothetical electoral college, The Dems are leading the committed states by 11 electoral votes (200-189). But we must remember that it takes 270 electoral votes to secure the Presidency. This same poll shows that there are 62 toss up electoral votes and 87 leaning to one party or the other but not committed.

When we factor in favorability, McCain is the only one of the three in positive numbers. According to Rasmussen Reports, Clinton is viewed favorable by 45% of the American people and unfavorable by 52%. Obama’s numbers aren’t any better. He is seen as favorable by 46% of the American people and unfavorable by 52%. McCain’s numbers are dramatically better. The presumptive GOP Nominee is seen favorably by 55% of the American people and 42% unfavorable.

Democrats may try to play some election year magic and put High Priest Al Gore in hoping to reverse these trends. With the conventions just about 8-9 weeks before the General Election, it is possible that this year’s Democrat Surprise may be early and it may be Gore. Dems may be counting on cashing in on Gore’s rock-star status gained him by his over-rated Power Point presentation masquerading as a documentary that won him an Oscar and the Nobel Prize. A presentation which is proving to have been misguided as global temperature begins to reverse on its own.

As more and more Politically Apathetic American Lemmings join the Global Warming band wagon, it is possible that Gore could swoop in and steal the election in November. But I highly doubt it.

First off, he hasn’t indicated that he would be open to being the man who tore the Democrat Party apart. His candidacy would be a sham to the primary process. Just think of how many donors would become disenfranchised because they backed either Clinton or Obama and the Party selected Gore. Independents who may have donated would not come back no matter his stance on global climate change and their ignorance to the actual facts of the phenomenon.

Selecting Gore as a “compromise candidate” may be the worst thing that the delegates could do for their own party. I hate to give them advice but the only way out of a brokered convention is to compromise by putting one or the other, Hillary of Barack, at the top of the ticket and the other as the Veep running mate. The so-called dream team.

Poll numbers from last week indicate that 20% of Hillary supporters will NOT vote for Barack Hussein Obama. They will vote McCain instead. The same number of Barack supporters will do the same if Hillary is the nominee. The only way to keep them in line is to put them both on the ticket. But that won’t happen.
