Obama’s Vague Website Bio

in: Opinion

Tuesday I read an article on NewsMax that described Barack Hussein Obama’s inexperience and that got me to thinking about the millions of Obama Drones that will be flocking to the polls in November who have no idea who this individual is. Obama himself invites you to visit his website in his advertisements so I took a look in order to see what kind of snow job he uses to lure in his minions. And what did I find?

Using Obama’s website and Ronald Kessler’s NewsMax article, “Obama’s Inexperience Tough to Ignore”, as reference I’ve come up with this.

Obama states on his website

Remembering the values of empathy and service that his mother taught him, Barack put law school and corporate life on hold after college and moved to Chicago in 1985, where he became a community organizer with a church-based group seeking to improve living conditions in poor neighborhoods plagued with crime and high unemployment.

The group had some success, but Barack had come to realize that in order to truly improve the lives of people in that community and other communities, it would take not just a change at the local level, but a change in our laws and in our politics.

No details, just that he became a community organizer and recognized the plight of poor America which he was definitely not a member of. But Ronald Kessler does go into some detail.

In his memoir, Obama says being a community organizer taught him how to motivate the powerless and work the government to help them. His chief example is an effort to remove asbestos from Altgeld Gardens, an all-black public housing project on Chicago’s South Side.

But those who were involved in the effort say Obama played a minor role in working the problem and never accomplished his goal. A pre-existing group at Altgeld Gardens and a local newspaper, the Chicago Reporter, were working on the problem before Obama came on the scene, yet Obama does not mention them in his book, “Dreams From My Father: A Story of Race and Inheritance.”

“Just because someone writes it, doesn’t make it true,” says Altgeld resident Hazel Johnson, who had been pushing for a cleanup of the cancer-producing substance years before Obama showed up.

Rep. Bobby L. Rush, D-Ill., says it was Johnson’s work, along with asbestos testing by the Chicago Reporter, that got Chicago officials interested in the issue. Rush, who launched an inquiry into the situation when he was a member of the Chicago City Council, says he is “offended” that Obama did not mention Johnson in his account.

“Was [Obama] involved in stuff? Absolutely,” says Robert Ginsburg, an activist who worked with Johnson and Obama on the problem. “But there was stuff happening before him, and after him.”

After three years working as an organizer, Obama could say he helped obtain grants for a jobs program and got asbestos removed from some pipes in the project. But as the Los Angeles Times has noted, the “large-scale change that was needed at the 1,998-unit project was beyond his reach.” To this day, most of the asbestos remains in the apartments.

Fruitless though his efforts were, Obama devoted more than 100 pages to his experiences at Altgeld Gardens and surrounding areas. Michelle Obama has said his work as a community organizer helped him decide “how he would impact the world,” assisting people to improve their lives. Yet, in a revealing passage in his book, Obama wrote, “When classmates in college asked me just what it was that a community organizer did, I couldn’t answer them directly.”

Instead, he said, “I’d pronounce on the need for change. Change in the White House, where Reagan and his minions were carrying on their dirty deeds. Change in the congress, compliant and corrupt. Change in the mood of the country, manic and self-absorbed. Change won’t come from the top, I would say. Change will come from a mobilized grass roots.”

Thus, Obama admitted that he accomplished little but that he was able to cover that up with fancy talk about change.

Change, seems like we’ve heard our fill of that word in the past couple of years wouldn’t you say. The telling quote is,

Obama admitted that he accomplished little but that he was able to cover that up with fancy talk about change.

Obama then gets into his career as a “civil rights attorney” on his website. Here we go again. Get ready for the whitewash.

He went on to earn his law degree from Harvard in 1991, where he became the first African-American president of the Harvard Law Review. Soon after, he returned to Chicago to practice as a civil rights lawyer and teach constitutional law. Finally, his advocacy work led him to run for the Illinois State Senate, where he served for eight years. In 2004, he became the third African American since Reconstruction to be elected to the U.S. Senate.

That’s it. That’s all he says on his website about his time as a “civil rights attorney”. Ronald Kessler actually has a bit more detail about Mr. Obama’s career as a “civil rights attorney”.

While Obama’s campaign has touted him as a civil rights lawyer, “Over the nine years that Obama’s law license was active in Illinois, he never handled a trial and mostly worked in teams of lawyers who drew up briefs and contracts in a variety of cases,” according to David Mendell’s “Obama: From Promise To Power.”

A review of the cases Obama worked on during his brief legal career “shows he played the strong, silent type in court, introducing himself and his client, then stepping aside to let other lawyers do the talking,” the Chicago Sun-Times has reported.

“A search of all the cases in Cook County Circuit Court in which Obama made an appearance since he graduated from Harvard in 1991 shows: zero,” the article said.

Instead, his practice was “confined mainly to federal court in Chicago, where he made formal appearances in only five district court cases and another five in cases before the 7th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals — a total of 10 cases in his legal career,” the paper said.

Oh yeah Mr. Obama, you’ve made quite the impact on society as a “civil rights attorney”. Showing up in in court and introducing yourself as an attorney for your client 5 times in your career really stands out as a leader in the civil rights community Mr. Obama.

So what are his actual credentials that would make him “qualified” to become the next President of the United States? Let’s check his siteshall we?

In the Illinois State Senate, this meant working with both Democrats and Republicans to help working families get ahead by creating programs like the state Earned Income Tax Credit, which in three years provided over $100 million in tax cuts to families across the state. He also pushed through an expansion of early childhood education, and after a number of inmates on death row were found innocent, Senator Obama worked with law enforcement officials to require the videotaping of interrogations and confessions in all capital cases.

In the U.S. Senate, he has focused on tackling the challenges of a globalized, 21st century world with fresh thinking and a politics that no longer settles for the lowest common denominator. His first law was passed with Republican Tom Coburn, a measure to rebuild trust in government by allowing every American to go online and see how and where every dime of their tax dollars is spent. He has also been the lead voice in championing ethics reform that would root out Jack Abramoff-style corruption in Congress.

As a member of the Veterans’ Affairs Committee, Senator Obama has fought to help Illinois veterans get the disability pay they were promised, while working to prepare the VA for the return of the thousands of veterans who will need care after Iraq and Afghanistan. Recognizing the terrorist threat posed by weapons of mass destruction, he traveled to Russia with Republican Dick Lugar to begin a new generation of non-proliferation efforts designed to find and secure deadly weapons around the world. And knowing the threat we face to our economy and our security from America’s addiction to oil, he’s working to bring auto companies, unions, farmers, businesses and politicians of both parties together to promote the greater use of alternative fuels and higher fuel standards in our cars.

Then there is reality as discovered by Ronald Kessler.

If Obama had virtually no impact as either a community organizer or as a lawyer, he was even more invisible in the state Senate and later in the U.S. Senate.

In both bodies, Obama had a reputation for voting “present,” thus avoiding controversial decisions that could be used against him later. In the U.S. Senate, he has missed more than one in five votes.

Only one of the measures Obama has sponsored as a U.S. senator was enacted: a bill to “promote relief, security, and democracy in the Democratic Republic of Congo.”

Contrary to Obama’s portrayal of himself as a unifier, on every bipartisan effort in the Senate to forge compromises on tough issues, Obama has been missing in action.

In spite of Mr. Obama’s claim on his website,

Amid the partisanship and bickering of today’s public debate, he still believes in the ability to unite people around a politics of purpose - a politics that puts solving the challenges of everyday Americans ahead of partisan calculation and political gain.

Mr. Obama has a 97% party-line voting record in the United States Senate. This is a fact that he doesn’t want you to know Independents. He wants you to believe that he is a uniter when the truth is that he is nothing more than a political opportunist. Why does he vote party-line? So that he stands a better shot at the real prize, the White House. His party-line voting was nothing more than political opportunism as he sought to court the ultra liberal base in order to secure his party’s nomination. Which he’s accomplished.

Now he wants to portray himself as a uniter as evidence in his political propaganda found on television these days. Someone who can reach across the aisle and work with his political opposition for the good of the country when the record shows differently. When he does bother to show up for work, he votes present or party-line. There is no evidence in the record of his working on bi-partisan legislation at all.

In conclusion, Obama’s website is vague in order to keep as many people who look for the answer to the most puzzling of questions, “Who exactly is Barack Hussein Obama”, in the dark. The empty suit has no solutions to anything. He is riding the wave of excitement created from his appearance at the 2004 Democrat National Convention and that is about the extent of his qualifications. But he doesn’t want you to know that.

I too have tried to get information from Obama’s website, especially when he said “healthcare” for 300 million people would only cost 65 billion dollars a year. Yes, that IS what he said and that equates to two hundred sixteen dollars a year for each individual. What a bargain!

I found that payment plan in the very last paragraph of the verry last pdf linked on his “healthcare” page. You would think that he would make that a banner because that is the sole purpose for his early exposure. Odd how he rarely talks “healthcare” anymore, huh? His plan is to roll back the tax cuts on those making 250k or more a year. A tax cut that INCREASED revenues by 4%. He is going to pay for an additional 65 billion of expenditures by reducing revenues by 4%. That is because he is magic and we are morons for letting him even be employed.

    Great work, Gribbit.
