Who is Paul Zachary Myers? He’s an Associate Professor of Biology at the University of Minnesota at Morris and a self-proclaimed “card-carrying” atheist.
Mr. Myers has drawn the ire of the President of the Catholic League Bill Donohue for a blog posting that appeared on the University’s servers. In the wake of a story that appeared [...]

April 8th, 2008 at 9:04 pm » Comments (2)

Though it has been forever and a day since anybody in the blogosphere has read a word from my befuddled and now pregnancy hormone enraged brain, I am alive and do (on occasion) get the chance and have the energy to pay attention to what is going on in the world beyond my growing belly. [...]

March 1st, 2008 at 1:01 pm » Comments (3)

First it started out as a prank, then it grew into a protest of the size of their lunches when 29 students from Readington Middle School paid for their lunches entirely with pennies. The school, not being too enthused with receiving 6,000 coins as payment for 29 lunches, issued all 29 students 2 days [...]

He’s Sacrificing Conservatives for Independents

February 29th, 2008 at 9:00 am » Comments (0)

This week, John McCain did something risky. He denounced Bill Cunningham’s statements about Obama to buddy up to Independent and Moderates. The Moderates will stay if he don’t pander to them and the Independents are likely to split if he doesn’t. However, by pandering to them, the Conservatives that were starting to get on board [...]

A retired teacher for the Oceanside California School District taught classes for 17 years in spite of the fact that he couldn’t read, write, or spell. That’s right, a person who was responsible for insuring teenagers were able to read, write, and spell was unable to do those things himself. This revelation must horrify the [...]

Correcting a Mistake AND a Reminder of the Literal Insignificance of Iowa’s Caucuses

January 2nd, 2008 at 9:00 pm » Comments (0)

The other day I wrote a post called “How Much Does Iowa Really Mean Anyway?” which included an error which I was called on. I quickly struck through the inaccuracy (on Gribbit’s Word) without explaining.
I said, “In 2004 John Kerry didn’t do well in Iowa or New Hampshire” which isn’t accurate. Kerry actually won both [...]
