If you watch the video, Obama mentions the fact that prices for oil, natural gas, and other means of heating your home will be going up as well.

The capital flew into a bit of a tizzy when, on his first full day in the White House, President Obama was photographed in the Oval Office without his suit jacket. There was, however, a logical explanation: Mr. Obama, who hates the cold, had cranked up the thermostat.
“He’s from Hawaii, O.K.?” said Mr. Obama’s senior adviser, David Axelrod, who occupies the small but strategically located office next door to his boss. “He likes it warm. You could grow orchids in there.”
Ok… I’ll concede that Obama is from Hawaii originally but he lived in Chicago for how many years?!? I’m sorry Mr. Axelrod, that dog don’t hunt.
Truth be told, Obama is another typical Lear Jet Liberal who preaches to the masses about how our activity is impacting the planet and also has the audacity to tell us to alter our ways without any intention of altering his. He’s a hypocrite. Especially when you begin to notice the rapid decline in atmospheric temperatures. Someone is whitewashing someone. Question: Are you noticing that it’s you?

Last November, and continuing as I write, evidence questioning the methods and practices of the so-called “scientists” behind this planetary hoax began to flood in. First it was the emails in excess of 60 MB that showed that the “scientists” conspired to discredit evidence contrary to their boondoggle, avoid peer-review of contradictory studies, and hide data from Freedom of Information Act (UK) requests. Ever since, we’ve been treated to evidence supporting theories that changes in global ocean currents and sunspot activity have a more direct impact on climate change than man’s measly 3% contribution to atmospheric CO2. The latest, however, is nearly the most damning: the IPCC’s use of an article from a magazine as evidence that Himalayan glaciers were melting and would all but disappear by 2035. As we all know now, that wasn’t based on any scientific study at all, but merely the speculation of another so-called “climate scientist” for an article published in the mountain climbers version of Runner’s World.
This past week, the findings of the Penn State internal investigation of Professor Michael Mann’s methods in developing the now discredited “hockey stick graph” (which supposedly proved man’s CO2 contributions were causing global warming) turn up no evidence of wrong doing. Wait a minute! No evidence of wrongdoing?!? The guy selectively counted tree rings in the development of his theoretical “graph”. That’s akin to reading tea leaves, relying on a rodent to tell you if winter is ending, and analyzing the bands on woolly bear caterpillars to predict the severity of an upcoming winter. I didn’t know reliance on folklore was considered “scientific” these days. What’s next? Tarot Cards? Ouija Boards? What gets me is the willingness of those who believe this tripe to accept these faith based predictions but yet these are the same people who reject GOD and religion as superstition.
All this aside, today I read an article in the London Times (online version) titled, “I thought of killing myself, says climate scandal professor Phil Jones”. In the event you’ve been living under a rock and do not know who Phil Jones is, he’s the egghead in charge of the East Anglia University Climate Research Unit – you know, the source of all those damning emails. He told the Times that he thought of killing himself over the controversy. Remember, the IPCC relied heavily on the findings of the East Anglia CRU in determining their findings. They also relied on data from the WWF which was word for word from the above mentioned magazine concerning the impending fate of the Himalayan glaciers (the article that originated from a mountain climbing magazine – not any scientific study or journal).
For years, the WWF, High Priest Al Gore, and others have been pushing the idea that arctic sea ice has been decreasing and as a result, polar bears are in danger of extinction because their hunting grounds are disappearing. We now know that arctic sea ice is NOT decreasing. Summer sea ice has actually expanded by 409,000 square miles AND polar bear populations have actually increased since 1979. Will Noah Wiley now please SHUT UP ?!?(I’m personally a little sick of his propaganda based panhandling)
The world has begun to pass legislation imposing financial penalties onto businesses, and in some cases individuals, which violate arbitrary CO2 limits based on the findings of the IPCC report which anyone can now realize is a hugely flawed document. The science is NOT settled and it isn’t even close to being settled. Before the nations of the world begin to craft legislation which destroys the global economy, the controversy should be truly settled and fully understood. Not some half-assed guessing and slapping together of arbitrary numbers that make up limits, percentages, etc. without regard to cost. These people making these chicken little predictions about the world’s climate are the same morons who attempt to predict our weather. They can’t be accurate 5 days in the future, but you are willing to take their word about 100-year predictions?!? If you do, you are an imbecile; a non-thinking sheep of a person willing to buy whatever bill of goods presented to you and unwilling to listen to reason.
Before we have a massive shift in our sources of energy that are inefficient, unreliable, and massively expensive, we should make absolutely certain of the evidence that man is in fact causing climate change. As long as there is one skeptic, the science cannot be deemed as “settled”. Claiming so only proves that it isn’t.
We’ve already allowed them to ban incandescent light bulbs based on this hoax and the US was on the verge of passing a massively destructive Cap and Tax bill. Obama was willing to sacrifice US sovereignty and sign on to a global agreement in Copenhagen that would permit the building of a global governmental authority with the power to tax nations who violate the arbitrary CO2 emissions standards of the agreement. He was willing to become subservient to an agreement as the world’s worst polluters remain unbound by the same agreement. This is unacceptable.
As we’ve seen this week, winter has made its presence known again with more than 2 feet of snow in the nation’s capital (a record if you are keeping score over there at East Anglia University). This wasn’t supposed to happen, but it did. With all this evidence to the contrary, how can ANYONE still believe the science is “settled”?!? Those making money by blaming man still say it’s “settled,” but poll numbers show that the people do not. THIS is the decline of the Church of Global WarmingClimate Change of Modern Day Idiots. Al Gore must be having kittens! Official acknowledgement has been made that the earth’s temperatures are actually decreasing and experts say this may be a 20 – 30 year trend. Some are even calling it the beginning of a “mini ice age”. Wow! It’s terrible being right.
The bitter winter afflicting much of the Northern Hemisphere is only the start of a global trend towards cooler weather that is likely to last for 20 or 30 years, say some of the world’s most eminent climate scientists.
I figure this puts a damper on Mr. Gore’s “the earth has a temperature” statement, what about you?
As for the MDI’s* predictions that arctic sea ice will be non-existent come 2013… Well that prediction is going as expected as well. At lease how I expected.
Their predictions – based on an analysis of natural cycles in water temperatures in the Pacific and Atlantic oceans – challenge some of the global warming orthodoxy’s most deeply cherished beliefs, such as the claim that the North Pole will be free of ice in summer by 2013.
According to the US National Snow and Ice Data Centre in Colorado, Arctic summer sea ice has increased by 409,000 square miles, or 26 per cent, since 2007 – and even the most committed global warming activists do not dispute this.

The scientists’ predictions also undermine the standard climate computer models, which assert that the warming of the Earth since 1900 has been driven solely by man-made greenhouse gas emissions and will continue as long as carbon dioxide levels rise.
Gee, I wonder how an additional 409,000 square miles of arctic sea ice is going to lead to the flooding of coastal cities? For that matter, what of those drowning polar bears that the MDI*, and the WWF preach about? But what about someone who is respected in the climate change community? What does a leader in that community say about what’s going on?
Among the most prominent of the scientists is Professor Mojib Latif, a leading member of the UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), which has been pushing the issue of man-made global warming on to the international political agenda since it was formed 22 years ago
Prof Latif, who leads a research team at the renowned Leibniz Institute at Germany’s Kiel University, has developed new methods for measuring ocean temperatures 3,000ft beneath the surface, where the cooling and warming cycles start.
He and his colleagues predicted the new cooling trend in a paper published in 2008 and warned of it again at an IPCC conference in Geneva last September.
Last night he told The Mail on Sunday: ‘A significant share of the warming we saw from 1980 to 2000 and at earlier periods in the 20th Century was due to these cycles – perhaps as much as 50 per cent.
‘They have now gone into reverse, so winters like this one will become much more likely. Summers will also probably be cooler, and all this may well last two decades or longer.
‘The extreme retreats that we have seen in glaciers and sea ice will come to a halt. For the time being, global warming has paused, and there may well be some cooling.’
“There may well be SOME cooling,” he said?!? They had snow in central Florida. Record low temps are being recorded world wide but this guy is saying, “there may well be SOME cooling.” I guess that I should be happy that there is that much of an admission of reality from that guy.
However, another climate science insider really delivers a blow to the MDI*. Again, from the Daily Mail:
‘I do not believe in catastrophe theories. Man-made warming is balanced by the natural cycles, and I do not trust the computer models which state that if CO2 reaches a particular level then temperatures and sea levels will rise by a given amount.

Who I’m angry with are those who bought your bill of goods because they didn’t think for themselves. I love the fanatical AGW wing of the Church of Global Warming Climate Change of Modern Day Idiots (MDI)* and their non-scientific declarations that the “science is settled”. “The Earth,” they claim, “is warming at an alarming rate and MAN is responsible.” They’ve made grandiose predictions that “if we don’t act now,” by enacting meaningless legislation which does nothing to curb man’s greenhouse gas emissions but would redistribute the world’s wealth instead, we will end up historical toast. But is there even a problem? Take a look at the following headlines before you automatically answer with the MDI* talking points.[1]

Take a look at every single piece of climate legislation being proposed by every single government in the world and you will see that the true goal is a one world government and the redistribution of the world’s wealth from the developed countries to the non-developed countries.
True believers of the MDI* line will respond with, “you can’t cite specific local weather anomalies as proof that global warming doesn’t exist” but the claim is disingenuous. High Priest Al Gore and his ilk made bold predictions in the wake of hurricane Katrina that more hurricanes could be expected in the coming years due to man made global warming. That turned out to be a bunch of bilge water.
The fact is, since hurricane Katrina, hurricane activity has decreased. The fact is, the earth’s average surface temperatures have not increased since 1997. The fact is, average global surface temperatures have actually decreased over the past 2 years. The fact is, the current examples of dramatically cold weather patterns are not isolated and local examples, they are on a global scale. For the love of Pete, elderly in the UK are burning books to keep warm! It’s only going to get worse if these pinheads raise the price of energy to unaffordable levels. But they don’t care. Because they are saving the planet.
Beyond an all-out nuclear conflict, I seriously doubt that there is anything that man can do to achieve the kinds of damage that the proselytizers of the MDI* claim. To make grandiose claims that man has the power to destroy the earth just by living the best lives we can by utilizing the best technology of the day is not only arrogant, it is irresponsible. Especially when those claims can, have, and will continue to lead to deaths that can and should be avoided by keeping the costs of living low. But the believers of the MDI* are not interested in your life. They are only interested in the money that they can raise by scaring you into believing their lies and the power that they can achieve over you through those lies.
After a short absence, I return to blogging with a doozy that I’ve been sitting on. During my time away I learned of the hacked emails released on the net exposing the “scientific” reports upon which the IPCC reports on man-made global warming as a massive conspiracy to commit fraud on a global scale. What a treasure trove of information for all of us who have been saying all along that the AGW claims of the MDI* were nothing short of bovine excrement (and smell worse).
I titled this post “Something Is Rotten In Denmark” not because of the massive amount of BS that has been dumped on the world over the last decade, but rather to illustrate what is about to happen in Copenhagen, Denmark in just a few short days.
The Emperor has decreed that he will make a cameo at the MDI* conference where a treaty is being negotiated that is meant to replace the expiring Kyoto agreement. Make no mistake, the conference will produce a treaty that the Obama Infestation will sign-on with in spite of the fact that it hasn’t a prayer in the world of being ratified in the US Senate. Don’t forget, Kyoto was agreed upon during the Clintonian Infestation (1997) and never came to a vote in the Senate.
Leaked were thousands of emails compiling 61 megabytes of data exposing a massive efforts to alter collected data on climate change to fit a predetermined outcome. “The earth is warming and man is responsible. So now we must bankrupt the world in a futile effort to reverse this trend.”
One such email discussed discrediting a couple of papers which didn’t conform to the predetermined outcome. The solution? Redefine what constituted a peer-review.
“I can’t see either of these papers being in the next IPCC report. Kevin and I will keep them out somehow — even if we have to redefine what the peer-review literature is!”
So much for trusting peer-review Mr. Ed Begley Jr.
Another email actually requested the destruction of emails.
“Can you delete any e-mails you may have had with Keith re AR4?”
Another explains why.
“I’m getting hassled by a couple of people to release the CRU temperature station data. Don’t any of you three tell anybody that the UK has a Freedom of Information Act!”
These so-called “scientists” couldn’t risk the actual data being exposed. Because they cannot admit a truth that “inconveniently” doesn’t fit their predetermined outcome and shows their computer models to be fraudulent.
“The fact is that we can’t account for the lack of warming at the moment and it is a travesty we can’t.”
Should this data be confirmed in the established “climate change” scientific community, it would destroy all that they’ve worked for and expose them for the frauds that they are. Heaven forbid they would have to admit that climate change is cyclical and man’s impact on the environment is actually insignificant. No, instead, they have to artificially keep their cash cow producing by hiding the truth.
“I’ve just completed Mike’s Nature trick of adding in the real temps to each series for the last 20 years (ie from 1981 onwards) and from 1961 for Keith’s to hide the decline.”
The agency at the center of the controversy raised by the leak of these hacked emails is the University of East Anglia’s Climatic Research Unit (CRU).
Given star billing by the IPCC, not least for the way it appeared to eliminate the long-accepted Mediaeval Warm Period when temperatures were higher they are today, the graph became the central icon of the entire man-made global warming movement.
Since 2003, however, when the statistical methods used to create the “hockey stick” were first exposed as fundamentally flawed by an expert Canadian statistician Steve McIntyre , an increasingly heated battle has been raging between Mann’s supporters, calling themselves “the Hockey Team”, and McIntyre and his own allies, as they have ever more devastatingly called into question the entire statistical basis on which the IPCC and CRU construct their case.
The senders and recipients of the leaked CRU emails constitute a cast list of the IPCC’s scientific elite, including not just the “Hockey Team”, such as Dr Mann himself, Dr Jones and his CRU colleague Keith Briffa, but Ben Santer, responsible for a highly controversial rewriting of key passages in the IPCC’s 1995 report; Kevin Trenberth, who similarly controversially pushed the IPCC into scaremongering over hurricane activity; and Gavin Schmidt, right-hand man to Al Gore’s ally Dr James Hansen, whose own GISS record of surface temperature data is second in importance only to that of the CRU itself.
There are three threads in particular in the leaked documents which have sent a shock wave through informed observers across the world. Perhaps the most obvious, as lucidly put together by Willis Eschenbach, is the highly disturbing series of emails which show how Dr Jones and his colleagues have for years been discussing the devious tactics whereby they could avoid releasing their data to outsiders under freedom of information laws.[1]
None of us who have been consistently skeptical of the AGW claims actually deny that the earth was warming. Quite the contrary. We acknowledge that the earth’s climate is constantly changing (both warming and cooling) and those changes are largely to do with a variety of factors including sunspot activity and ocean currents. Both of which when combined can cause drastic changes in global temperatures.
Solar activity, in particular sunspots, had been increasing for an extended period but suddenly plateaued around – and this is a shock – 1997. Sunspots have been nearly non-existent over the past 2 years. Isn’t that interesting? Sunspot activity has decreased over the past 2 years and global temperatures have fallen over that same period? Couldn’t be. The science was settled remember? Man causes global warming with our SUV’s, air travel, heating and cooling our homes, and eating meat.
The fact that the earth’s temperatures have fallen during the same period that sunspot activity has decreased to almost no sunspot activity at all can only be explained as coincidence when we all know it is carbon dioxide which causes global warming. Right? Well – not exactly.
CO2 will likely continue to increase no matter what the temperature does. CO2 is a naturally occurring gas on this planet. It is necessary for plants to grow. And in spite of what is commonly known about CO2, it does more than make cola fizzy. It actually causes man to breath. You read that right.
It is the CO2 build-up in our lungs that causes us to exhale. Once we exhale, our bodies’ need for oxygen sparks us to inhale and the process starts all over. (Attention DRONES, this information comes from a Pulmonologist who treats my daughter at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center – I think I have this one).
Sounds to me that the science of global climate change isn’t as settled as once previously pronounced. But yet the eggheads and political hacks gathering in Copenhagen this month with the unapologetic goal of thrusting the world economy into a MEGA DEPRESSION ignore the obvious as they push an agenda based on fraud and the guilt produced by said fraud.
Unlike the drama of Hamlet, the stench emanating from Denmark this December is very real and very deadly. Global bankruptcy has no bailout mechanism. Homelessness, hunger, disease, and death are all products of depressive economies. How can the world survive a global MEGA DEPRESSION?!?

Junk Science is reporting that the emails were NOT hacked as previously reported in this post and elsewhere about the web. Instead they have it explained this way on their site…
It has become fairly obvious this archive was not “hacked” or “stolen” but rather is a file assembled by CRU staff in preparation for complying with a freedom of information request. Whether it was carelessly left in a publicly accessible portion of the CRU computer system or was “leaked” by staff believing the FOIA request was improperly rejected may never be known but is not really that important. What is important is that:
There was no “security breach” at CRU that “stole” these files
The files appear genuine and to have been prepared by CRU staff, not edited by malicious hackers
The information was accidentally or deliberately released by CRU staff
Selection criteria appears to be compliance with an or several FOIA request(s)
Pointing out the continuous failures of the Obama Infestation and their compatriots in the US House and Senate is becoming monotonous; however, if I and others like me fail to beat the drum, the Apathetic among us will continue to believe the tripe being championed by the White House and Congress.
Those running the show in Washington want you to believe the government is the answer to all that is wrong in our nation, when in fact Washington is the cause of everything that is wrong in America. In true American apathetic short-sightedness, Americans, in general, cannot think beyond the current headlines to find the root causes of our problems. Our current economic crisis was sparked by the housing market and the sub-prime mortgage fiasco. This we all know from the news. What isn’t reported is the true cause of the sub-prime mortgage problem: the federal government.
During the Carter years, the Democrat controlled Congress passed a piece of legislation which the economically challenged Jimmy Carter signed into law called The Community Reinvestment Act. Later during the Clintonian Infestation, community organizing groups like ACORN strong armed banks into making loans to high risk borrowers under enforcement of The Community Reinvestment Act and housing saw a dramatic increase. Sales were up, home prices and values shot up and everyone who could began to flip houses for profit. Everyone was having a ball. Until….the bubble burst.
The Community Reinvestment Act created the sub-prime mortgage situation. Lenders were lending money to home buyers at low adjustable rates which, over time, would dramatically increase. Lenders, under the impression the federal government would be backing these loans, were forced to make these loans under threat of The Community Reinvestment Act. How was this perceived? Fannie and Freddie.
Lenders and the general public had this idea that Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac were entities of the federal government when, in fact, they are not. They are federally financed, but they are private companies. Like the current take over of General Motors, Fannie and Freddie derive any short-falls from the US Treasury. Enter the problem. People got to a place where they could no longer pay their mortgages. Energy prices skyrocketed as oil was reaching an all-time high. People were faced with a choice between feeding their children or paying the bank for their house. When Countrywide bottomed out because of the rapid increase of mortgage default, lending in general took a nose dive. Credit was no longer available to anyone.
The US economy is credit driven. Our national debt is financed by credit. We (not all but most) live our lives on credit. So when credit dries up, so does the economy.
Liberals dreamed up The Community Reinvestment Act. Liberals passed it and a liberal signed it. Now they want you to believe that someone other than themselves are to blame for the bad economy created by the legislation. They also want you to believe the way to fix it is by spending money the nation does not have.
A baby born today is already nearly $4,000 in debt. That is the amount of the national debt this newborn baby is personally responsible for. What is the Infestation’s solution? “Let’s give the new little one a $500 bond.” Have you ever heard such nonsense in your life?!?
Ok, here’s a solution for the bad economy. Let’s curb unemployment by spending more money we don’t have to repair America’s crumbling infrastructure. Sounds cool right? Until you realize that since it is federal tax dollars being spent on the projects, all the work preformed must be done either by union employees OR non-union employees paid union wages and provided with union benefits. Many non-union contractors are being excluded on bidding on infrastructure projects because they cannot pay those wages or provide those benefits. Not to mention another little fact the Infestation failed to tell America. Eventually the projects end. The roads and bridges will eventually all be built so these are NOT permanent jobs being created. They are just band-aid style stop-gap measures taken in hopes of improving the political position of the party in power. Nothing more.
Moodys yesterday warned that if the US doesn’t end the out-of-control spending spree it is on, it will lose it’s AAA rating. This might not mean anything to any of you until you realize that if our nation’s credit rating – the Moodys rating – is downgraded, the value of our currency is going to tank. Then, all bets are off. Your house and business will be worthless. Interest rates will be unaffordable and the dollar will have the value of toilet paper.
These facts bring up an interesting question. Is the Infestation doing all of this in order to purposefully destroy the US dollar?
Barack Hussein Obama is one of these New World Order types who sees the Useless Nations as a potential World Governmental body. One world under the UN with one currency that we all use. Key to this is removal of the current dominating currency – the US dollar. He can only do this if you allow him to. He needs you to not be looking at what he’s doing so you don’t know it’s happening. By not paying attention, you are giving this Infestation the tools it needs to rob our nation blind and sell us out to governing body which is jealous of our success and standard of living.
Why does the world hate the US? Not US arrogance as the President and his Party believe. No. The world is jealous of our affluence.
I’ve said this before and it bears repeating.
You cannot legislate universal prosperity, but you can legislate universal poverty.
You cannot legislate universal health, but you can legislate universal sickness.
You cannot legislate universal happiness, but you can legislate universal despair.
The current leadership in Congress and this President are attempting to legislate universal poverty through tax increases and environmental legislation which will do nothing but inefficiently redistribute wealth. They are attempting to legislate universal sickness though health care reform that has no chance of increasing the health of the nation. And they are attempting to legislate universal despair with every action they take and every word they speak. They do so with a very compliant media.
In a rare defense of the media, I must give them some praise today. Yesterday the White House attempted to deal the 1st Amendment a blow by wanting to exclude FoxNews in a series of interviews with the White House Pay Czar. The other White House press pool members sided with Fox in telling the White House that if FoxNews was not included, they would not be participating either. For this, I must say the press is finally showing signs of integrity.
Isn’t it kind of odd how the entire world was taken in by former VP Al Gore, the reigning High Priest of the Church of Global Warming of Modern Day Idiots, and his power point presentation masqueraded as a documentary? The fat bastard had the audacity to use his “celebrity” to produce a “film” which nearly the entire world consumed as gospel when in fact the “evidence” of man’s contribution to planetary warming was actually manufactured and you all took it in. Shame on you.
This headline may come as a bit of a surprise, so too might that fact that the warmest year recorded globally was not in 2008 or 2007, but in 1998.
But it is true. For the last 11 years we have not observed any increase in global temperatures.
And our climate models did not forecast it, even though man-made carbon dioxide, the gas thought to be responsible for warming our planet, has continued to rise.
So what on Earth is going on?
For all the Chicken Little predictions of a global calamity of biblical proportions at the hands of that evil creature man, the earth has actually been cooling for nearly 2 years now. Sunspot activity has been nearly non-existent for the same period yet those who still cling to the fantasy that man is causing “global climate change” (the new flimflam term for this group hysteria) are continuing to blame man’s CO2 contributions which in reality is less than 3% of the total CO2 deposited in our atmosphere annually. If CO2 is actually to blame for warming, cooling, or stagnation, then shouldn’t we blame Willy the wale? The oceans are the largest contributor of CO2 to the atmosphere. But you can’t tell those liberal egg-heads anything now, can you? They are, after-all, unquestionable.
As a matter of fact, even the BBC article had to include those still clinging to their hysterical fantasies.
But those scientists who are equally passionate about man’s influence on global warming argue that their science is solid.
The UK Met Office’s Hadley Centre, responsible for future climate predictions, says it incorporates solar variation and ocean cycles into its climate models, and that they are nothing new.
In fact, the centre says they are just two of the whole host of known factors that influence global temperatures – all of which are accounted for by its models.
In addition, say Met Office scientists, temperatures have never increased in a straight line, and there will always be periods of slower warming, or even temporary cooling.
What is crucial, they say, is the long-term trend in global temperatures. And that, according to the Met office data, is clearly up.
I don’t know about you, but to me these morons are beginning to sound like the adults in the Charlie Brown cartoons. “Wa Wa Wa”. (Or is it WAAAAAAAAA! like a baby. Somebody check Al’s diaper!)
How about someone from the touted IPCC? What do they have to say?
To confuse the issue even further, last month Mojib Latif, a member of the IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) says that we may indeed be in a period of cooling worldwide temperatures that could last another 10-20 years.
Professor Latif is based at the Leibniz Institute of Marine Sciences at Kiel University in Germany and is one of the world’s top climate modellers.
The BBC report has to then disclaim that Professor Latif is not becoming a skeptic. But we don’t need him to. All we are interested in is that he no longer proliferate the notion that man is causing global climate change when the evidence does not show it.
There are several factors contributing to the natural changes in our climate. Sunspot activity is only part of it. The oceanic currents are another.
Anyone with more than one functioning neuron (again that leaves out our resident DRONES*) knows that the world’s oceans are what regulate our temperatures. If the sun isn’t warming the oceans as much, doesn’t it make sense that the earth’s temperatures would drop? It certainly does to me and apparently it does to an expert in the BBC article.
According to research conducted by Professor Don Easterbrook from Western Washington University last November, the oceans and global temperatures are correlated.
The oceans, he says, have a cycle in which they warm and cool cyclically. The most important one is the Pacific decadal oscillation (PDO).
For much of the 1980s and 1990s, it was in a positive cycle, that means warmer than average. And observations have revealed that global temperatures were warm too.
But in the last few years it has been losing its warmth and has recently started to cool down.
These cycles in the past have lasted for nearly 30 years.
So could global temperatures follow? The global cooling from 1945 to 1977 coincided with one of these cold Pacific cycles.
Professor Easterbrook says: “The PDO cool mode has replaced the warm mode in the Pacific Ocean, virtually assuring us of about 30 years of global cooling.”
So for all the announcements of the science being settled it turns out that the evidence isn’t. At least where it implicates man as the culprit. And if the evidence isn’t settled and it is possible (if not probable) that man’s CO2 contributions are NOT responsible, then why is Congress and the President insistent that Cap and Tax must be passed to save the planet? If you can answer that question then you can answer an even bigger one. Why are Democrats so in love with taxes?
And just for the record, Cap and Tax won’t curb man’s CO2 contribution. All it does is shift money around. It is nothing more than a wealth redistribution scheme that will inevitably bankrupt the United States. Perhaps that is the real goal.
So, is the BBC Becoming AGW skeptic? I doubt it. But if they are it isn’t a willing situation.
I’m wondering if MSNoBodyCares will cover this revelation? Or CNN, ABC, CBS, NBC, PBS, and the dead trees for that matter?
Cash for Clunkers, or CARS as it has been affectionately named by Congressional Democrats to give it more public appeal, has been an unadulterated cluster-fuck since its conception. Here’s the idea…
In an effort to remove inefficient vehicles from the road because the libtarded Democrat Congress is SO CONCERNED about the environment, Congress sets aside $1 Billion to fund a vehicle recycling program in which a dealer would give a $3,500 – $4,500 trade-in for a car meeting specific fuel “inefficiency” criteria. The dealer then sets the vehicle aside for the government to crush and recycle. Sounds simple enough right? Problem – $1 Billion wasn’t nearly enough to make it through the first week of the program let alone the 4 months designated.
To combat the funding short-falls, the government changed the EPA standards significantly eliminating most “clunkers” from the program. Out of curiosity I was interested in whether or not our older car qualified. Not that we are in any position to buy another car at this point, I was just curious if our “clunker” qualified. Ironically, it doesn’t.
The government’s website for the program asks a series of questions about the car. Year, make, model, size of the engine, etc… However, when it tallies the results it uses the fuel economy ratings of the vehicle when it was new not in its current condition.
Our vehicle when new supposedly got 26 MPG. If it is getting 20 at this point I’d be surprised. Since our car did not fall below the required 18 MPG fuel “inefficiency” standard, it does not qualify.
Meanwhile, dealers and car companies are flooding the airwaves with advertisements for ‘Cash for Clunkers’ when in fact most cars will not qualify. Many of these same dealers are getting in a bind with the program because the government’s computers cannot keep up with demand. They are crashing. A caller to the Rush Limbaugh program Friday who is car salesman explained the program. He informed Rush’s listeners that there is a backlog of deals waiting to be processed by the dealers. In many cases, the dealerships are allowing prospective buyers to drive off the lot with a car assuming a deal exists but as the EPA and the bureaucrats running this program begin to change the standards, many of these deals are falling through. The dealers then are faced with calling the prospective buyers back to either pay the extra $4,500 or turn in the cars they thought they had just bought.
Cash for Clunkers is just another example of Democrat Incompetence. They think an idea sounds good. They think it makes sense. But they fail to understand how it would work in practice. They fail to consider what happens to others by its implementation. They fail to understand what would happen if their plan fails to work as drafted on paper. In other words, this program is just another example of Democrats failing. But what else is new.
This program was hailed by the main stream press as such a victory for the environment. This program was touted as a way to help the American people by giving them the opportunity to buy a new more efficient car. And in doing so allowing the new car buyers to save money on gasoline because of the better fuel economy. What a bunch of bullshit anyway.
First of all, only those who have the disposable income to buy a new car in this economy would even be able to take advantage of this program anyway. They are the only people able to handle a car payment in this economy. The very economy created by the main stream media. After-all, they are the ones who talked this nation into a recession when it didn’t actually exist.
Those of us still feeling the crunch of the recession that Newsweek boastfully declares is now over in spite of the GDP being at -1% cannot buy a new car. So who is helping the rich now Mr. Obama?!?
Because the automakers and dealers are now on the hook for a program that was improperly funded by the government, the House yesterday authorized another $2 Billion for the program. That won’t get through the recess. Not to mention, the Senate left without acting to my knowledge. (*Note – if this turns out to not be the case, this sentence will be removed.)
Another entitlement created by libtarded morons elected to higher office who themselves couldn’t understand the plight of the common man in a hundred million years. In their infinite stupidity they failed to fund the program so that it could last more than 4 days and since funding fell short, decided to change the rules of the game after the program was implemented.
Obama has t he audacity to be shocked by his dramatically falling poll numbers?!? No wonder Nancy doesn’t care that she’s the most despised politician in America. Anyone with a D next to their name will soon be in the cross-hairs of anyone with a brain. House members are up for re-election next year. 36 Senators as well. Democrats are beginning to fear their control of Congress will evaporate quickly especially if this economy fails to improve (pay attention Newsweek).
The Truth of the matter is that Congress should naturally swing the other direction in 2010 since the American people distrust 1 party rule. After-all, look where it is taking us now!
Nancy knows that come January 2, 2011 she is out of a job. Harry knows that it is a very real possibility that he won’t be re-elected let alone maintain his leadership position in the Senate. The people of Nevada know that Harry is a fugitive from the Alzheimer’s ward. Too bad their isn’t a government program call “Cash for Clunker Politicians”. ::snap:: OH That’s right! In the lead up to the 2008 elections, the extremely left leaning media of this country were trying to convince you that the nation was in recession when key indicators suggested economic growth not recession. They created the current recession by convincing you it existed when it didn’t. Now, one of the leftarded media outlets is trying to convince you that the recession that they helped create is over when the key economic indicator of the existence of a recession shows evidence that it the recession is continuing..
But according to all of the economic indicators, Newsweek is a bit premature in that announcement. This includes the most important indicator – the Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
A recession is defined as 2 or more consecutive quarters of negative GDP. The main stream media all were announcing that the United States was in recession when the nation still had positive GDP numbers. And now, Newsweek in their infinite stupidity is announcing the end of said recession unilaterally with no evidence to back it up. But what the hell, evidence doesn’t mean a fucking thing to these assholes.
“I don’t know whether you’ve seen the cover of the latest Newsweek magazine on the rack at the grocery store, but the cover says: ‘The Recession is Over,’” the president said as part of his prepared remarks at the event.
“I imagine you might have found that news a little startling,” Obama continued. “I know I did.”
Obama went on to say while certain indicators are improving, like the stock market and home sales, “That’s little comfort if you are one of the folks who have lost their job.”
For the first time in his short Presidency, Barack Obama is correct. It is little comfort for the couple of million people who have lost their jobs since the Man with the Middle Name Hussein took over. He has been consistently wrong in every prediction that he has made from the campaign on.
He warned us that if we didn’t pass his economic stimulus package that unemployment would climb to 8.5%. With the national unemployment numbers flirting with 10% and the jobless rate in the Democratic People’s Republic of Michigan tipping the scales at a whopping 15%, somehow I believe the douchebag from Chicago got that one wrong.
He said that his stimulus package would create jobs. Wrong again. Green jobs – wrong. The only evidence that I personally have been able to find that any of his stimulus claims are being implemented is a sign on I-75 southbound into Dayton, Ohio that claims that a project begun 8 years ago, the I-70/I-75 Interchange, and near completion is part of the Obama Porkulus package. I’m sorry, but I’m sure funding for that piece of road work was secured before ground was broken. The same can be said for the other I-75 project. Ground was broken on that in early 2008. So somehow I doubt Porkulus funding got those projects off the ground or created any jobs there since they were both going before Obamaramadingdong secured his Party’s nomination.
Barry followed up his extremely expensive political payoff package with another aimed at cutting greenhouse emissions when in fact, it does nothing of the sort. It is another tax package dreamed up by the President and put into a bill by SanFranNan, both of whom have never seen a tax proposal they haven’t absolutely been in lust with. The House Cap and Trade bill doesn’t curb the emissions of greenhouse gasses. It only taxes them. Somehow they have the idea that raising taxes on businesses in this country will somehow create jobs. I’ve never heard anything more ignorant in my life. But they truly believe this tripe.
Now Barry, Nan, and Harry Reid (the human sleeping pill) have another brilliant idea. Let’s place greater mandates on the health care industry by forcing Doctors out of the profession through regulation and lower compensation for government funded options. Let’s place a mandate on the American people to get private coverage before this bill becomes law or be forced onto a government run health care system that will create waiting lists, rationing of care, and the end of privacy. Let’s remove the patient and the doctor from the decision making process and put an empathy free board of bureaucrats in charge of making health care decisions for people they’ve never met. And while we are at it, how about ending care for seniors and fund as many abortions as we can to reduce the population.
What’s next for this turd? Soylent Green?!?
So no Newsweek, the recession that you helped create by instilling fear into the minds of many non-thinking lemmings out there who wrongly believe that you are an independent news service is not over. It is alive and well and about to receive a huge shot in the arm if the House and Senate pass Obama’s health care scheme.

As the House Democratic Leadership tries to gather support for their massive small business tax and government takeover of health care, they are finding reluctance from many in their own caucus. Why? Well, many Democrats who walked the plank and voted for the Speaker’s unpopular national energy tax faced a blistering reaction back home, and the Senate looks unlikely to act on the legislation – meaning House Democrats got “BTU-ed” all over again.
Roll Call this morning reported on the Democratic House Members’ unease, and the hurdle it is creating:
“Democrats who helped the sweeping climate change bill squeak through before jetting home for the July Fourth break got a surprisingly ugly homecoming, encountering a barrage of protests, attack ads and negative press. Police turned up at a local protest aimed at Rep. Allen Boyd (Fla.), a leader of the moderate Blue Dog Coalition. Freshman Rep. John Adler (N.J.) told a local paper he got shoved.”
“The bruising endured by the moderates — along with serious substantive concerns —prompted them last week to derail the planned Friday rollout of the health care bill. And it presents a continuing challenge to leaders hoping to wrap work on the package this month. ‘They are completely and totally rattled,’ one senior Democratic aide said of the centrists. ‘I’ve never seen them as bad as they are now.’”
Those Democrats are right to be worried, since Politico finds little enthusiasm for Speaker Pelosi’s national energy tax in the Senate:
“President Barack Obama’s plan for climate change legislation faces an extraordinarily tough climb in the Senate. For proof, look no further than to some of Obama’s closest allies.”
“‘We’ve got to be very careful with what we do with this legislation,’ Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-Mo.), a near—constant cable surrogate during Obama’s presidential campaign, told Missouri talk radio show host Mike Ferguson last week. ‘We need to be a leader in the world, but we don’t want to be a sucker.’”
“When it comes to climate change, McCaskill and other Midwestern Democrats are putting their home-state concerns ahead of one of the president’s biggest first-year priorities; many of them fear that the legislation, which narrowly passed the House earlier this month, will hurt manufacturing- and coal-dependent areas that are already struggling.”
Republicans have a better solution. Our “all of the above” plan will lower energy costs, clean up the environment, and create millions of new American jobs. When will the Democratic leaders realize that we need a serious plan to help our economy and reduce our dependence on foreign sources of energy, not the job-killing boondoggle like Speaker Pelosi’s national energy tax?
