Scott Brown’s victory is not only historic in that a Republican was elected to an office from a State that hasn’t been won by a Republican since 1973. It is even more historic on HOW he did it. The Republican Party as a whole needs to take a careful look at HOW Brown won. Duplicating the Brown campaign is essential to complete victory in November 2010.
Scott Brown ran on a platform of the Tea Party movement. Plain and simple. He ran an issues based campaign refraining from personal attacks. Is it permissible for a candidate to attack their opponent on an issue? Of course. But leave families out.
Massachusetts voters rejected the personal attacks of the Coakley campaign and the Emperor’s attacks on his pickup truck. Massachusetts voters recognize that the out of control spending of Washington is the problem. Massachusetts voters recognize that the Emperor’s Death Care bill would balloon the federal budget even more than he and his minions in Congress were able to do with the Porkulus, Omnibus, and Cash-for-Clunkers. Massachusetts voters recognize that the federal budget deficit and out of control national debt and unfunded liabilities are a problem that the people of this nation can no longer live with. So they did now what the nation is preparing to do in November. And thank Almighty GOD they did.
The Tea Parties opposition is rooted in this Infestation’s fiscal irresponsibility. Should Republicans return to the same fiscal irresponsible ways of the Bush era, they too will be targets of public angst.
We’ve had a taste of the Progressive Movement and we (collectively) do not like it.
The Obama Infestation clearified the differences between Conservatives and liberals (Progressives). If the GOP runs all of its races on Conservative Principles (Tea Party Principles), the GOP will win. That is the lesson of the Brown victory. Should the GOP deviate from the Brown plan – failure is inevitable and we will slip further toward Progressive Socialism.
The people of this nation want true economic recovery and that does not mean additional federal spending that only truly translates into political payoffs. The people of this nation understand that true economic recovery can only happen when the government gets out of the way and allow the economy to recover on its own. More taxes cannot accomplish this. The economy is more important to the People than universal health care but the leftists do not understand this truth.
I have said many times…
You cannot legislate universal health, but you can legislate universal sickness.
You cannot legislate universal prosperity, but you can legislate universal poverty.
You cannot legislate universal happiness, but you can legislate universal despair.
The Obama Infestation and Pelosi/Reid Politburo are attempting to legislate universal sickness, universal poverty, and universal despair a la the Cloward-Piven Strategy for Socialist Revolution. And you all now know this.
As for the calls for Brown to consider a 2012 Presidential run? SHUT UP!
We are now suffering under a President who, once elected to the US Senate, shifted his focus to a Presidential run. What has that gotten us?
Emperor Barry ran for President and won only because no one knew who the hell he was. If we knew then what we know now, I doubt he would have even gained his Party’s nomination.
Brown has yet to speak on the floor of the Senate. He hasn’t even cast a vote yet. For the love of Pete, he hasn’t even been sworn in. Can we please refrain from pushing the man into something that he may not wish on his worst enemy?
Let him concentrate on doing the things that he has promised to achieve in the Senate.
In less than 11 months, this nation will again go to the polls and cast ballots which will be instrumental to the future of the Republic. The question that will be answered on November 2nd will be…
Does this nation wish to continue down the Obama road toward socialism reminiscent of the former Soviet Union? Or does this nation wish to be the great and powerful champion of freedom as it has traditionally been?
The answers will come in the form of who you choose to represent you at the state and federal levels. Candidates for governor, senator, and congressman are all looking for your approval and those you choose will be endowed, through your choice, to shape the direction of this country and answer the above question.
In Ohio, Rob Portman is seeking to fill the soon to be vacated Senate seat of retiring RINO George Voinovich. According to RedState.com and the Dayton Daily News, Portman is leading both Democrat hopefuls in the polls.
The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey in the state shows Portman now leading Brunner 40% to 33% after holding a two-point advantage in September. Just seven percent (7%) would choose another candidate, but 20% are undecided at this point.
Portman continues to run nearly even with Fisher 38% to 36%. In their match-up, 18% of Ohio voters are undecided, while another eight percent (8%) prefer another candidate. The two were virtually tied in September as well, with Portman just ahead 41% to 40%.
From the Dayton Daily News via the same emailed press release:
With a promise to focus “like a laser” on jobs and the economy, Republican Rob Portman on Thursday, Jan. 7, opened his statewide U.S. Senate campaign headquarters in Columbus.
An estimated 200 Portman backers packed the suite of offices about four miles from downtown Columbus, despite an escalating snow storm outside.
The weather was reminiscent of the launch of Portman’s campaign nearly a year ago on Jan. 14 at the historic Golden Lamb in Lebanon.
Portman, a former U.S. House member from suburban Cincinnati and former trade representative and budget director under President George W. Bush, is the state Republican party’s endorsed candidate but faces a primary challenge from Cleveland-area car dealer Tom Ganley.
State Republican Chairman Kevin DeWine of Fairborn told the crowd that Portman was part of the “best slate of candidates that Republicans” have had in Ohio in more than a generation.
“I agree with what Chairman DeWine said,” said Portman. “This is going to be a good year.”
Lt. Gov. Lee Fisher and Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner are seeking the Democratic nomination.
The race is for the seat being vacated by Republican U.S. Sen. George Voinovich who is retiring.
It is important that Ohio stand up to the Obama socialism machine being fueled by the Harry Reid/Nancy Pelosi US Congress. Liberals are in control and socialism is the order of the day. But it can be reversed.
Ohio has a socialist Senator in Sharrod Brown. He is a Harry Reid/Barry Obama stooge who read Richard Creamer’s 1997 book which outlined the current health care legislation. He, like Reid/Pelsoi/Obama and the rest of the Democrat Pary, has read and subscribed to the Alinsky model of political radicalism. Ohio needs a check on the Sharrod Brown’s residing in the Senate chamber and Portman is that guy.
Elsewhere in Ohio politics, Ohio’s moronic governor is up for re-election as well. He is facing substantial opposition from former US Congressman John Kasich.
Unemployment in Ohio has jumped to 10.5%, the state is wrestling with an $851 million budget shortfall, and Governor Ted Strickland has proposed delaying a tax cut approved in 2005. Add it all together, and it’s a tough environment for the incumbent Democratic governor who now trails his expected general election opponent by nine percentage points in an early look at the 2010 race.
The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey in Ohio shows Republican John Kasich getting 48% of the vote while Strickland picks up just 39%. Three percent (3%) say they’d prefer a third-party candidate, and 11% are not sure who they would vote for. In September, the two men were essentially even.
Uncle Ted has completely mismanaged Ohio’s budget. We’ve got library closures and reduced services in the libraries that are still open. We’ve seen the closure of 4 of Ohio’s state run mental hospitals leaving thousands of mentally ill Ohioans without services. And a plan out of Uncle Ted to reduce classroom sizes in Ohio which has led to teacher shortages and mobile education modules being used as full-time class rooms.
Oh, and as for that tax cut that Rasmussen says Uncle Ted is considering delaying…
Well the cut has already been factored in to current Ohio income tax withholding tables. Delaying it would mean that Ohio’s workers will not have had enough deducted from their pay to cover their tax liabilities translating to every single Ohio worker needing to write the state a check come April 15th. That is if Uncle Ted approves the delay. Well he did.
Ohio is bleeding jobs because it is not an environment conducive to conducting business. Ohio has traditionally been a heavy industrial and agricultural state. Our heavy industry is just about gone. Gone are the steel plants in Youngstown and Cleveland. Gone are the auto plants in Dayton, Cleveland, Youngstown, and Cincinnati. I’m sorry, but the farmers cannot sustain our state’s economy.
Ohio is also bleeding population. Many seniors are fleeing the high taxes of Ohio for the tax safe havens of Florida, Texas, and Tennessee. Many of our workers are chasing jobs that are going to other states as well. For instance, NCR used Obama stimulus money to leave Dayton for South Carolina. In case you didn’t know it already, NCR invented the cash register in Dayton where NCR was founded. Proctor and Gamble is considering leaving Cincinnati. GM and Chrysler have closed plants all across Ohio and many large and small contractors who supplied these plants followed suit and closed as well.
Ohio is not the only state in trouble and this is translating into a major problem for Democrats. They are the Party in power and this economy belongs to them. Our elected officials continue to spend money that our great grandchildren can’t supply. And make no mistake about it, this debt being run up is no longer our debt. It is the debt of generations yet to be born. Today’s politicians are spending their money not ours.
Republicans stand to gain big at the end of this year and I’m hoping that they can do a better job than the current crop of socialists Democrats. But they should be on notice…
IF YOU GAIN OUR VOTE YOU MUST FOLLOW THROUGH WITH THAT FOR WHICH YOU ARE BEING ELECTED. CUT THIS GOVERNMENT. CUT IT DEEP. REDUCE SPENDING AND THE SIZE OF GOVERNMENT OR 2012 WILL TRULY USHER IN THE END OF THE 2-PARTY SYSTEM. YOU’LL BE OUT AS WELL.
During the 2008 Republican Presidential Primaries I made no secret of the fact that I am NOT a Mike Huckabee fan. It is my opinion that his background of being a Baptist minister is detrimental for America and it seems my instincts are correct.
As governor of Arkansas, Huckster granted in excess of 1,000 commutations of convicted criminals including 12 who were convicted of murder. There has been suggestion in some circles that he tended to grant commutations and pardons not on evidence before him as he suggested in a rebuttal printed on RedState but rather if the convict had found GOD within the prison walls. In his attempt to save face and deflect responsibility for commuting the sentence of a man who went on to murder 4 police officers in Washington, Mike “Huckster” Huckabee bravely states that he did not pardon Maurice Clemmons. This may be true. But the commutation of Clemmons made him eligible for parole which was ultimately granted.
Had Huckster kept his nose out of the Clemmons affair in the first place, Maurice would still have been sitting in a prison cell not out there killing police officers. The only thing that could be worse than what happened in Washington would be if Huckster got himself elected President in 2008. Lord only knows how many felons would have eventually been set free by this charlatan had he been just because they found GOD behind the prison wall.
Don’t get me wrong, I do believe that many people do find GOD after committing crimes. They do repent and they do seek forgiveness and it should be granted. But a debt to the state for the crimes committed is not relieved by GOD’s forgiveness.
Mike “Huckster” Huckabee is governed by his theology. A theology mind you that is fundamentally flawed might I add. He comes from the “once saved always saved” department of theological stupidity which confuses the lines drawn by GOD himself through His Word in Jesus Christ who said in the Gospel According to Matthew, “Then repay to Ceasar what belongs to Caesar and to GOD what belongs to GOD.” [1] In this context Christ was speaking of taxes but a debt to the state is a debt to the state. In this case, prison time owed to the state for a crime committed should not have been altered simply because one finds religion behind the prison walls. This is akin to an terrorist not killing you because you suddenly proclaimed belief in the 8th century pedophile prophet Mohamed. Whether you actually do or not is immaterial.
Under a President Huckster, the exit lines at our nation’s prisons would be filled with a new wave of born again types who suddenly understood that declaring a belief in GOD was a ticket to freedom. That is something that cannot be permitted.
He may lead in every single straw poll being conducted, but it is my belief that his political future is forever tainted. In this way, he and Gary Hart have a lot in common.
For the record, I do not wish to offend my Protestant colleagues but this is an individual who poses a threat to ending the free spending ways of the Democrats currently in charge. He is unelectable and would be ineffective as a chief executive. He raised taxes on the people in Arkansas and would have raised them on the American people.
The Republican Congressional Campaign Committee has identified 24 Democrat House members who voted for passage of the Pelosi Death Care bill and is targeting those 24 Democrats for defeat in November 2010. The RCCC has set-up a website called Reverse the Vote! to raise money for a war chest specifically aimed at defeating these 24 individuals who voted for the Pelosi bill in opposition to the will of their constituencies.
The list of 24 includes…
Rep. Berry (D AR-01)
Rep. Snyder (D AR-02).
Rep. Giffords (D AZ-08).
Rep. Salazar (D CO-03).
Rep. Bean (D IL-08)
Rep. Foster (D IL-14)
Rep. Donnelly (D IN-02)
Rep. Hill (D IN-09)
Rep. Carnahan (D MO-03)
Rep. Titus (D NV-03)
Rep. Shea-Porter (D NH-01)
Rep. Arcuri (D NY-24)
Rep. Bishop (D NY-21)
Rep. Hall (D NY-19)
Rep. Owens (D NY-23)
Rep. Driehaus (D OH-01)
Rep. Kilroy (D OH-15)
Rep. Space (D OH-18)
Rep. Schrader (D OR-05)
Rep. Dahlkemper (D PA-03)
Rep. Kanjorski (D PA-11)
Rep. Connolly (D VA-11)
Rep. Kagen (D WI-08)
Every dollar raised by Reverse the Vote! will be split 24 ways and used to defeat these 24 Democrats in the general election. Not one dime will be used in the primaries.
The hope is that these 24 individuals will see that the Republicans are taking a pro-active step to build a war chest to remove them from office and decide to not support the Death Care bill when it makes its return from Conference.
So if you have the means, please consider contributing whatever you feel most comfortable to Reverse the Vote! and help take back this country.
June 27, 2009 | House Republican Leader John Boehner (R-OH) | Permalink
The American people deserve to know what’s in the legislation their representatives in Congress are voting on. That was the fundamental principle behind House Republican Leader John Boehner’s (R-OH) hour-long speech on the floor of the House last night, in which he read portions of a 300-plus page amendment Democrats added in the dark of night to Speaker Pelosi’s already 1,200-page national energy tax legislation. The legislation is going to raise electricity prices, increase gasoline prices, and ship American jobs overseas to countries like China and India. It also will be a bureaucratic nightmare overseen by a confusing web of government agencies that will take and redistribute trillions of dollars from family budgets and workers’ payrolls. Following is just a sampling of the national media’s coverage of Boehner’s unprecedented speech – and the House GOP’s stand against the Democrats’ costly, jobs-killing national energy tax:
Buffalo News: “Rep. John Boehner, the House Republican leader, used an extraordinary one-hour speech shortly before the final vote to warn of unintended consequences in what he said was a ‘defining bill.’ He called it a ‘bureaucratic nightmare’ that would cost jobs, depress real estate prices and put the government into parts of the economy where it now has no role.”
Associated Press: “‘But when you file a 300-page amendment at 3:09 a.m., the American people have a right to know what’s in this bill,’ [Boehner] intoned.”
Reuters: “House Republican leader John Boehner called the measure ‘the biggest job-killing bill that has ever been on the floor of the House of Representatives.’”
Washington Post: “And then came the fili-Boehner. House tradition allows the speaker, the majority leader and the minority leader to ignore the usual time limits on floor speeches. So, at the end of four hours of debate, Boehner opened a binder containing the 300-page amendment. ‘Don’t you think the American people expect us to understand what’s in this bill before we vote on it?’ Boehner said, to cheers from Republicans. He read numerous passages – highlighting items such as credits for Fannie Mae-financed efficiency measures and plans for grants to study consumer behavior on energy use – and offered critiques.”
Politico: “‘This is the biggest job killing bill that’s ever been on the floor of the House of Representatives. Right here, this bill,’ said House Minority Leader John Boehner. ‘And I don’t think that’s what the American people want.’ Donning reading glasses, Boehner then delayed the roll call vote by reading page-by-page through a 300-page managers’ amendment Democrats added at around 3 a.m. on Friday. Boehner seemed to relish the hour-long stunt, picking out the bill’s most obscure language and then pontificating about what it might – or might not – mean. Republicans laughed along with him and roared with applause when he was done.”
San Francisco Chronicle: “Republican leader John Boehner of Ohio [used] his privileges as a leader to spend more than an hour ridiculing page after page of the bill and delaying the final vote until well into the evening.”
Wall Street Journal: “House Minority Leader John Boehner lambasted the Democratic bill for more than an hour Friday evening before the final vote. He mocked provisions covering everything from energy-efficient loan standards for Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to the definition of ‘renewable biomass’ to the establishment of ‘green’ banking centers. “Is there anything we’re not regulating in this bill?’ he said.”
Dow Jones: “Republicans warn it could cripple the economy. ‘This is a tax on anyone who drives a car, buys an American-made product, or flips on a light switch,’ said Minority Leader John Boehner, R-Ohio. ‘It will drive up energy costs and send millions of American jobs to countries like China and India, and place a real heavy burden on rural Americans.’”
Fox News: “Filibusters are not allowed in the House. They’re a province of the Senate. But House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-OH) may have figured out a way to get around that prohibition Friday as the House inched closer to voting on a controversial energy and climate change bill. Overnight, House Democrats tacked onto the bill a 300-page amendment. So when Boehner took his time to speak against the package at the end of the debate, the Ohio Republican then decided to peel through major portions of the bill and read them aloud before his House colleagues. ‘Is there anything we aren’t regulating in this bill?’ Boehner asked, leafing through the pages. He wondered if the community group ACORN qualified for certain grants. He asked why an energy and climate bill was ‘trying to solve the problems with Fannie (Mae) and Freddie (Mac).’”

… If this is true, how then could Obama win an election?
In a recent Gallup poll conducted between January and May of this year shows that more people in this country identify themselves as Conservative than Liberal. This makes you wonder then how we ended up with a Socialist President and a Socialist controlled Congress. We’ll get to that in a bit.
40% identify themselves as Conservative
35% identify themselves as Moderate
21% identify themselves as Liberal
Breaking these numbers down -
9% identify themselves as Very Conservative
31% identify themselves as Conservative
35% identify themselves as Moderate
16% identify themselves as Liberal
5% identify themselves as Very Liberal
4% have no opinion
If only those who identify themselves as Very Conservative and Very Liberal voted, we should beat them. If only those who identified themselves as Conservative or Liberal voted, the GOP should beat them. If everyone who is Conservative went head to head with those who identified themselves as Liberal the libtards should still lose. Then how can it be that Obama won the election?
It was the culminating factors of identity politics, fraud, and Conservative apathy with the GOP’s leftist turn. Let me explain.
Let’s begin with Conservative apathy shall we?
In the 2006 midterm elections, which the 2008 Presidential campaign was literally a hold over from, Fiscal Conservatives failed to make their presence known at the ballot box because of the 109th Congress’s failure to reign in spending. After-all, if the American people wanted fiscally irresponsible legislators controlling the nation’s treasury then they should have the genuine article – Democrats. So Fiscal Conservatives stayed home.
The GOP since 2001 has been inundated with true Neo-Cons. Individuals who used to be liberal Democrats who got the nationalism bug after the terrorist attacks on September 11th. These people are gung-ho on national security but still socially liberal. This empowered “moderates” (see also RINO’s) like John McCain and that is how the Democrat Party’s dream Republican candidate got himself nominated. And OH! the NY Times endorsement in the primary didn’t hurt either. But by in large McCain has the watering down of the GOP to thank.
The GOP has tried the moderation bit and it has failed miserably. All that moderating did was strengthen the liberals on the other side. Moderation of the GOP allowed the KOSsaks and DUmmies of the left to consolidate power and nominate their dream candidate – Barry O.
There existed an element within the GOP last November who refused to vote for Senator McCain even with Sarah Palin on the ticket. Still some others only voted for him because of Gov. Palin. Then there were people like me who voted for McCain because it was a vote against Barry. No one but the RINO’s and Neo-Cons wanted McCain for President. Even some of those Moderate Republicans we’ve heard so much about voted for the Man with the Middle Name Hussein. There is no way he could have won without them.
Combine these facts about the fracturing of the GOP with the well documented voter fraud efforts by ACORN and its associated “Community Activism” organizations and that spelled victory for the Man with the Middle Name Hussein. For all their bitching about George Bush stealing an election, the liberals found a way to truly steal one in 2009. They did so by having dead people, dogs, cats, and children vote along with the homeless who voted upwards of 9 times. Now THAT, is stealing an election.
… It Seems That He’s Closing Dealerships That Contribute To GOP Candidates
In a story that appeared on Michelle Malkin, Hot Air, and reported on by Michelle on Fox and Friends, it seems that an overwhelming number of GOP backing Chrysler dealers are getting their franchises closed thanks to the Man with the Middle Name Hussein.
Where is the Main Stream Media on this? Absent as usual.
Today I asked my Republican colleagues to join me in co-sponsoring the Keeps Terrorists Out of America Act that makes clear that we should not bring terrorists who want to destroy America into our country. I introduced this bill last week along with Reps. John McHugh, Pete Hoekstra, Peter King, Lamar Smith, Ileana Ros-Lehtinen and the House GOP Leadership team because of how strongly we feel on this. The American people also feel very strongly.
I’ve heard from hundreds of you on this matter, and you’ve very clearly conveyed your real fear that terrorists would be brought into our communities. You can read the letter I sent to my colleagues here.
Click the photo below to watch Rep. Boehner respond to a constituent letter from Crystal in Dayton on this issue.
I don’t hide the fact that I have a child with special needs nor do I hide the fact that she requires a lot of medical attention which takes me away from the political sphere from time to time. That said, when Arlen Specter – author of the Single Bullet Theory – decided that he stood a better chance in the 2010 Primaries as a Democrat than a Republican, I wasn’t around to comment. But today’s headlines are prompting me to say a little something about Benedict Arlen.
I don’t call him that because he turned his back on the GOP. I call him that because he was never truly a member of the Republican Caucus. What brings me to that conclusion you ask? Simple. Each and every time his vote was needed to prevent the expansion of the federal government, or keep taxes low, or block whatever harmful legislation proposed by the Democrat Caucus, Specter voted with the Democrats.
Like a spy in the ranks Specter was only there to disrupt the natural order. A liberal in Republican clothing and needed to be ousted and not left to decide this change on his own.
What surprises me about today’s headline is – Did he actually believe that he was going to keep his seniority when he changed Party’s? The Democrat Caucus has no reason to allow him to nor should he expect it. So why is it a headline?
Despite promises from Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) that Sen. Arlen Specter (Pa.) would retain his seniority after switching parties, Specter will be put at the end of the seniority line on all his committees but one under a resolution approved on the floor late Tuesday.
Under the modified organizing resolution, Specter will not keep his committee seniority on any of the five committees that he serves on and will be the junior Democrat on all but one — the chamber’s Special Committee on Aging. On that committee, he will be next to last in seniority.
As a result, Specter — who as a Republican was ranking member on the Judiciary Committee and a senior member of the Appropriations Committee, as well as ranking member of the panel’s Subcommittee on Labor, Health and Human Services, and Education — will now rank behind all the other Democrats, at least until the end of this Congress.
Now that he is no longer the Ranking Minority Member of the Judiciary Committee (among others) this is an opportunity for the Republican Leadership to replace him with a more reliable vote.
So – THANK YOU ARLEN SPHINCTER for your defection. It was a long time in coming and I cannot wait for next spring with your new Party fails to nominate you and the Republican nominated from your state is a true Republican not a wishy-washy POS like you.
I’ll get into Sphincter’s “Single Bullet Theory” another time.
