Error Amerika Continues Its Implosion
The liberal incursion into the talk radio format continues to spiral down. According to two separate headlines on The Drudge Report, one station has to fill time slots with infomercials and another has changed format to Gospel music.
From The New York Daily News:
WWRL (1600 AM), flagship of the progressive radio network Air America for the last 18 months, dropped the flag to half mast Monday by bumping three Air America programs, including midday hosts Lionel and Thom Hartmann.
WWRL replaced Lionel’s 9 a.m.-noon show with two health infomercials and former host Ron Daniels, 11 a.m.-noon.
It replaced Hartmann’s noon-3 p.m. show with Ed Schultz, the country’s highest-rated liberal talker.
WWRL also put the Rev. Al Sharpton’s daily show into its 8 p.m. slot, bumping Air America’s “Clout” to an overnight spot. Sharpton will be heard on tape delay.
Lionel and Hartmann are still heard on Air America’s national network, which an informed source inside Air America said Monday remains “very much alive.”
Alive but on life support it sounds. Just take a look at SacBee.com:
Nationally syndicated talk show host Mike Malloy just called to confirm that the KSAC (1240 AM) rumors are true:
The station is changing to a gospel format Monday morning.
“I got the call from (KSAC general manager) Paula Nelson today — she told me it broke her heart to have to make the change,” Malloy says.
The Atlanta-based talk show host, whose show has been carried daily on the station, says he first heard about the switch earlier this week via his boss, Nova M Radio CEO John Manzo.
Manzo, on the phone from Phoenix, also confirms the switch.
The reason? Economics.
Why is the reason “Economics”? Because without listeners advertisers are not attracted to the station. The station needs revenue to offer programming and programming that does not attract listeners fails to attract advertisers and would eventually be off the air. That is the hard facts of the economics referred to.
Nobody wants to listen to hours of liberal vitriol day in and day out. Ask yourself why anyone would want to listen to someone call someone else a liar for 3 hours per day. Just look at the common liberal blogger and see what they post. This person or that is a liar, imbecile, or (in the words of one of my attackers) a “dipshit”. Read Conservative blogs and see the difference. The same is true with talk radio.
