Sharrod Brown – The Harry Reid of Ohio

This morning I received an email “newsletter” type correspondence from one of my Senators. I say “my” Senators with a bit of jest because neither of them fully represent my interests OR the interests of Ohio. Voinovich is a spinless RINO and Brown – well let us just say that Sharrod Brown is Harry Reid’s vote in Ohio. What Harry wants, Brown will be there to supply.

Michael Medved wrote in an article that he authored for Townhall.com earlier in the week…

Harry Reid is such an incomparably inept boob, such an easy target for ridicule and criticism, that his withdrawal from the upcoming battles might actually dim Republican prospects.

Borrowing from the words of Michael Medved…

Sharrod Brown is such an incomparably inept boob, such an easy target for ridicule and criticism, that he invites said ridicule by being functionally unable to think for himself. He is a lemming willing to sacrifice his political career by following those whom he believes to be smarter than he into the abyss of political irrelevancy and sacrificing the people of Ohio in the process.

Brown, like Emperor Obama and the rest of the ultra left, has read Robert Creamer’s prison tome, ‘Stand Up Straight: How Progressives Can Win’, which not only outlined how liberals could infest all aspects of government, but outlined the current Death Care bill being pushed through on The Hill.

Creamer actually said on April 25, 2008:

We need to reduce the credibility of the private insurance industry… This is a political campaign. We need to bring down the positives and bring up the negatives of our opponents. And the private insurance industry is our opponent in this battle. [1]

Universal, single-payer, health care is their way to control you and me. With it, they have everything in place to completely orchestrate how we live our lives. Because they would be the financier of public health, they can then tell the public how to live in order to remain healthy. Salt – no good. Transfats – no good. If it’s no good it will become illegal. An Orwellian nightmare to say the least.

Some may say, ‘but this bill isn’t single-payer.’ No it isn’t. Not yet anyway. But it can become single-payer over time and that is the true goal. Pay attention to the words used by those advocating its passage. They will use a keyword “framework”.

“Framework” is the instrument to install a single-payer system. Let me remind you that single-payer systems around the world are failing. They are a HUGE expenditure to the public treasury in the nations where it is implemented and services are often times denied or delayed in such a fashion that they become irrelevant and people die do to inaction.

Progressives have been working toward this for over 100 years. Wilson wanted this, Roosevelt wanted this, Johnson wanted this, Clinton wanted this, and now Obama is going to force it because he has stooges like Sharrod Brown in place to vote for it no matter the costs to his personal political career.

Sarah Palin coined a phrase last summer that was largely misunderstood. She said that this bill would install death panels. Taken out of context, liberals pounced on her for erroneously saying that the Emperor’s plan to have advisory meetings with seniors about end of life decisions were not a “death panel”. But that isn’t what she meant.

The death panels that Palin warned about isn’t the end of life counseling, it is the rationing body that necessarily must be set up to decide who gets what treatment at what cost. But even Sarah was wrong about its “framework”. That doesn’t exist in the Death Care bill. It actually was in the Porkulus bill.

That’s right. The authority for the rationing board actually has already passed. They concealed it within another bill so that when this debate came about they could honestly say, “there is no rationing body in this bill.” Also concealed in the Porkulus was a provision requiring all hospitals computerize all medical records and make them available to the above mentioned rationing body for review and payment. And Sharrod Brown voted for the Porkulus.

I know that this is 2010 and Brown’s seat isn’t up for re-election until 2012. I also know that there is an existing seat up in my state that is in contention. Voinovich is retiring – Thanks be to GOD – and Rob Portman is running for the seat. But we cannot advance as a nation or as a state if we allow Brown to remain a second longer than necessary. He was a bumbling moron as a Congressman and he’s nothing more than Harry Reid’s ‘yes man’ in the Senate.

Ohio needs to identify the man or woman who will remove that imbecile from his seat in 2012. The nation requires it of us as Ohioans to be responsible for who we send to the Senate. We mustn’t get caught up in who is going to replace the Emperor and lose sight of the bigger picture. We need good men and women to take the reigns of the House and the Senate as well. And don’t forget about the State Houses.

We have Portman who will in all likelihood defeat whichever bumbling boob the Democrats nominate to replace Voinovich and we have John Kasich and Mary Taylor to fill the top spots in the state.

But who will we have to fill our Congressional Districts? Are they for government health care? Jim Jordan is not and I’m glad of that. Jordan will be returned to Congress for another term that is no question. But what of your Congresscritter? Have they voted for the leftist agenda while in Congress? If so it’s time for forced retirement.

The current Congress (House and Senate) is spending this nation into the proverbial poor house. The national debt is approaching $13 Trillion with unfunded liabilities in excess of $120 Trillion. If your Congresscritter or Senator isn’t voting this new spending down, he/she is part of the problem and must go. If your Congresscritter and Senators are voting to reject this new spending, we need more like them.

But be careful. In as much as we need a change from the current tax and spend mentality, we do not need fiscally irresponsible Republicans either. If we are going to be ruled by liberals we may as well have the genuine article.

Scazzafava Out in NY-23 Race [UPDATED]

With an announcement on the heels of a poll showing that she cannot win, GOP candidate for the NY-23 House seat Dede Scazzafava is now effectively out of the race.

Dear Friends and Supporters:

Throughout the course of my campaign for Congress, I have made the people of the 23rd District and the issues that affect them the focal point of my campaign. As a life long resident of this District, I care deeply and passionately about its people and our way of life. Whether as a candidate for Congress, a State Assemblywoman or a small town Mayor, I have always sought to act with the best interest of our District and its residents in mind—and today I again seek to act for the good of our community.

The opportunity to run as the Republican and Independence Party candidate to represent the 23rd District has been and remains one of the greatest honors of my life. During the past several months, as I’ve traveled the district, meeting and talking with voters about the issues that matter most to them, I’ve been overwhelmed by the amount of support I’ve received as I sought to serve as their voice in Washington. However, as Winston Churchill once said, Democracy can be a fickle employer, and the road to public office is not always a smooth one.

In recent days, polls have indicated that my chances of winning this election are not as strong as we would like them to be. The reality that I’ve come to accept is that in today’s political arena, you must be able to back up your message with money—and as I’ve been outspent on both sides, I’ve been unable to effectively address many of the charges that have been made about my record. But as I’ve said from the start of this campaign, this election is not about me, it’s about the people of this District. And, as always, today I will do what I believe serves their interests best.

It is increasingly clear that pressure is mounting on many of my supporters to shift their support. Consequently, I hereby release those individuals who have endorsed and supported my campaign to transfer their support as they see fit to do so. I am and have always been a proud Republican. It is my hope that with my actions today, my Party will emerge stronger and our District and our nation can take an important step towards restoring the enduring strength and economic prosperity that has defined us for generations.

On Election Day my name will appear on the ballot, but victory is unlikely. To those who support me – and to those who choose not to – I offer my sincerest thanks.

Dede

The tightly contested vacancy was created when Rep. John McHugh resigned in September to become the Secretary of the Army. The seat was being sought not only by Scazzafava, but Democrat Bill Owens and Conservative Independent candidate Doug Hoffman.

Scazzafava has come under a lot of fire for her many radically liberal views. Many Conservative Republicans including Sarah Palin and Fred Thompson have endorsed Hoffman to fill the vacant seat. Others endorsing Hoffman include Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh because Scazzafava was far from an ideal candidate for the seat.

There is one problem for Hoffman coming into Tuesday’s election, Scazzafava has not endorsed either remaining candidate for the seat. This I suspect is due to the fact that she identifies more ideologically with Owens. Because her name remains on the ballot, it is important that voters who wish to resisit the leftward turn of the US House need to pull the lever for Hoffman not Scazzafava. Each remaining vote for Scazzafava is a wasted vote and will put Owens in that seat.

On November 3rd, I’m asking the voters of NY-23 to keep two things in mind when they go to the polls. A vote for Hoffman is a vote against the Obama/Pelosi machine dominating the US House with their big government ambitions. AND… A vote for Scazzafava is a vote for Owens and the Obama/Pelosi machine.

Had she not suspended her campaign, Scazzafava would have been another RINO voting along with the Democrat machine and liberal big government anyway. This is the absolute best thing that she could do for her country. Now you do the same and vote for Hoffman.

[UPDATE 1423]

BREAKING NEWS via FoxNews.com -

Republican Dede Scozzafava endorsed her former Democratic opponent Sunday in the race for an upstate New York congressional seat, one day after Scozzafava dropped out of the contest.

Scozzafava dropped out after Conservative Party candidate Dough Hoffman experienced a late-in-the-game surge. But on Sunday, Scozzafava backed Democrat Bill Owens — the announcement was made in a statement send out by the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee.

“I am supporting Bill Owens for Congress and urge you to do the same,” she said. “In Bill Owens, I see a sense of duty and integrity that will guide him beyond political partisanship. He will be an independent voice devoted to doing what is right for New York. Bill understands this district and its people, and when he represents us in Congress he will put our interests first.”

Campers, this has nothing at all to do with “duty” and “integrity” and everything to do with liberal politics. Scazzafava was a liberal masquerading as a Republican. We call them RINOs. If you are a Republican living in the 23rd Congressional District in New York, if you follow this shill’s advice and vote for the Democrat, you may as well switch your party affiliation. Scazzafava is the typical big government dreaming Daily POS reading fan of the Emperor that you’d expect to caucus with Nancy Pelosi not anything resembling a Republican. For the love of Mike, Joe Lieberman is more Conservative.

I again urge you to reject big government politics and vote for Doug Hoffman.

UK Paper: Sarah Palin blamed by the US Secret Service over death threats against Barack Obama

The Telegraph, a U.K. daily newspaper, is making the claim that the Secret Service warned former GOP Vice Presidential Nominee Gov. Sarah Palin that her comments about Barry O “palling around with terrorists” prompted death threats against the man with the middle name Hussein. HOGWASH!

In the history of this great nation, 4 Presidents have been assassinated and nearly all of them have had actual attempts made against them.

According to Wikipedia (and yes I know that it isn’t the most reliable of sources):

Andrew Jackson

January 30, 1835: At the Capitol Building, a house painter named Richard Lawrence aimed two flintlock pistols at the President, but both misfired, one of them while Lawrence stood within 13 feet (4 m) of Jackson and the other at point-blank range. Lawrence was apprehended after Jackson beat him down with a cane. Lawrence was found not guilty by reason of insanity and confined to a mental institution until his death in 1861.

Theodore Roosevelt

October 13, 1912: Three and a half years after he left office, Roosevelt was running for President as a member of the Progressive Party. In Milwaukee, Wisconsin, John F. Schrank, a saloon-keeper from New York, shot Roosevelt once with a revolver. A 100-page speech folded over twice and the metal glasses case in Roosevelt’s breast pocket slowed the bullet. Amidst the commotion, Roosevelt yelled out “Quiet! I’ve been shot.” Roosevelt insisted on giving his speech with the bullet still lodged inside him. He later went to the hospital, but the bullet was never removed. Roosevelt, remembering that William McKinley died after operations to remove his bullet, chose to have his remain. Schrank said that McKinley’s ghost had told him to avenge his assassination. Schrank was found legally insane and was institutionalized until his death in 1943.

Franklin D. Roosevelt

February 15, 1933 (one month before being sworn in for his first term in office): In Miami, Florida, Giuseppe Zangara fired five shots at Roosevelt. Four people were wounded and Chicago Mayor Anton Cermak was killed. Zangara was found guilty of murder and was executed March 20, 1933. Some researchers believe Cermak, not Roosevelt, was the intended target that day, as the mayor was a staunch foe of Al Capone’s Chicago mob organization.

Harry S. Truman

In 1950, two Puerto Rican pro-independence activists attempted to kill Truman, resulting in the murder of one White House police officer and the death of one assassin; Truman was not harmed.

John F. Kennedy

December 11, 1960: While vacationing in Palm Beach, Florida, President-elect John F. Kennedy’s life was threatened by Richard Paul Pavlick, a 73-year-old former postal worker. Pavlick’s plan was to serve as a suicide bomber by crashing his dynamite-laden 1950 Buick into Kennedy’s vehicle, but the plan was disrupted when Pavlick saw Kennedy’s wife and daughter bidding him goodbye. That attack of conscience foiled the opportunity, with Pavlick’s arrest by the Secret Service coming three days later after he was stopped for a driving violation, with the dynamite still in his car. Pavlick spent the next six years in both federal prison and mental institutions before being released in December 1966.

Richard Nixon

First assassination attempt

April 14, 1972: Milwaukee, Wisconsin native Arthur Bremer arrived in Ottawa, Ontario on April 10 and spent five days in Canada’s national capital in an effort to shoot and kill President Nixon, who was visiting the country during this time. On April 14, Nixon made a public appearance in a limousine at Parliament Hill, which Bremer attended, carrying a loaded revolver in his pocket. The presence of Vietnam War protesters and Canadian nationalists, however, led to increased security surrounding the President, and Bremer had great difficulty getting within firing range of Nixon. He did manage finally to get close enough, but the President was traveling by in his limousine with the windows closed, and Bremer was unsure whether any bullets would go through the glass of Nixon’s limo. As a result, he didn’t open fire and the President sped past unharmed. The following month Bremer shot U.S. Democratic Presidential candidate George Wallace, lodging a bullet in his spine and leaving him paralyzed from the waist down for life.

Second assassination attempt

February 22, 1974: Samuel Byck, planned to kill Nixon by crashing a commercial airliner into the White House. Once on the plane, he was informed that it could not take off with the wheel blocks still in place. He shot the pilot and copilot before killing himself. The events surrounding this assassination attempt were portrayed in the film The Assassination of Richard Nixon.

Gerald Ford

First assassination attempt

September 5, 1975: In Sacramento, California, Lynette “Squeaky” Fromme, a follower of Charles Manson, drew a Colt .45 caliber pistol on Ford when he reached to shake her hand in a crowd. There were four cartridges in the pistol’s magazine but the firing chamber was empty. She was soon restrained by a Secret Service agent. Fromme was sentenced to life in prison.

Second assassination attempt

September 22, 1975: In San Francisco, California, Sara Jane Moore fired a revolver at Ford from 40 feet (12 m) away. A bystander, Oliver Sipple, grabbed Moore’s arm and the shot missed Ford. Moore was sentenced to life in prison. She was later paroled on Monday, December 31, 2007 from a federal prison after serving more than 30 years.

Jimmy Carter

May 5, 1979: Ten minutes before Carter was about to speak at the civic center mall in Los Angeles, Raymond Lee Harvey was arrested carrying a pistol. He later told authorities that he and another man were hired to create a diversion so that Mexican hit men armed with sniper rifles could kill Carter. Charges against him were dismissed for lack of evidence.

Ronald Reagan

On March 30, 1981, following a speaking engagement in Washington, D.C., Reagan and three others were shot and wounded by John Hinckley, Jr. as Reagan was returning to his limousine. He recovered quickly due to prompt medical attention.

George H. W. Bush

April 13, 1993: Sixteen men, in the alleged employment of Saddam Hussein’s Iraq, smuggled a car bomb into Kuwait with the intent of killing Bush as he spoke at Kuwait University. The plot was foiled when Kuwaiti officials found the bomb and arrested the suspected assassins. Bush had left office in January 1993. On June 26, 1993, the U.S. launched a missile attack targeting Baghdad intelligence headquarters in retaliation for the attempted attack against Bush. The Iraqi Intelligence Service, particularly Directorate 14, was accused of being behind the plot.

Bill Clinton

First assassination attempt

September 12, 1994: Frank Eugene Corder flew a single engine Cessna into the White House lawn, apparently trying to hit the White House. The President and First Family were not home at the time. Corder was the only casualty.

Second assassination attempt

October 29, 1994: Francisco Martin Duran fired at least 29 shots with a semi-automatic rifle at the White House from a fence overlooking the north lawn, thinking that Clinton was among the men in dark suits standing there (Clinton was in the White House Residence watching a football game). A tourist named Harry Rakosky tackled Duran before he could injure anyone. Duran was found to have a suicide note in his pocket and was sentenced to 40 years in prison.

George W. Bush

First assassination attempt

February 7, 2001: While President George W. Bush was occupied in the White House Residence, Washington, DC, Robert Pickett, standing outside the perimeter fence, discharged a number of shots from a weapon in the direction of the White House. Eileen O’Connor, CNN Correspondent, reported: ‘the U.S. Park Police said that the type of handgun that was – that was confiscated, if it was an unobstructed view to the White House, could – a bullet could have reached the White House. But there are a lot of trees, a lot of bushes between this sidewalk, where the suspect was, Robert Pickett, and the White House, so that there were obstructions, mainly trees and bushes’[18]. Following a standoff of about ten minutes, the incident ended when a Secret Service officer shot Pickett, resulting in an injury which required hospital surgery. Pickett was found to have a history of emotional problems and employment grievances. Lacking conclusive evidence that Mr. Bush was a personal target (although the accused had indeed written to the President on the subject of his grievances), a court in July 2001 sentenced Pickett to three years in jail in connection with the incident.

Second assassination attempt

May 10, 2005: While President George W. Bush was giving a speech in the Freedom Square in Tbilisi, Georgia, Vladimir Arutyunian threw a live Soviet-made RGD-5 hand grenade towards the podium where he was standing and where Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili and their two wives and officials were seated. The grenade was live and had its pin pulled, but did not explode because a red tartan handkerchief wrapped tightly around the grenade kept the firing pin from deploying quickly enough.

Arutyunian was arrested in July 2005, and killed an Interior Ministry agent while resisting arrest. He was convicted in January 2006, and was given a life sentence.

In addition to the successful assassinations of Abraham Lincoln, James Garfield, William McKinley, and John F. Kennedy, it is an understanding that these men undertook upon seeking the office that Presidents of the United States are never 100% popular with the entire electorate. It is also understood, that in the age of international travel, no outdoor venue that any US President visits can be 100% secure.

Even if the Secret Service of the United States believed that Palin’s comments about Obama’s associations prompted the death threats against Obama, I doubt that they would warn her against making those comments. And even if they were to, I find it inconceivable that the US Secret Service would release this information to the press.

The Secret Service takes seriously their responsibility of protection of the President, Vice President, their families, and other members of the executive branch but they are careful not to interfere with the political process. Palin’s comments were and are legitimate political issues that the people are entitled to know about.

That said…

I find it disturbing that the President Elect of the United States has had in his past, and for all we know currently, intimate associations with an individual who has admitted his guilt in domestic terrorist actions against this nation. William Ayers stated, “guilty as hell, free as a bird” after his acquittal of charges related to the domestic terrorist activities of the Weather Underground.

Barack Hussein Obama has sat on the boards of at least 2 organizations with William Ayers. Barack Hussein Obama began his political career in the living room of William Ayers. Barack Hussein Obama has refused to directly answer the nature of his relationship with Ayers. Ayers has refused to answer any questions about his relationship with Obama. The records of their interactions on the board of the Chicago Annenberg Challenge have been kept at a distance from the public. And We The People are supposed to NOT be curious about Obama’s relationship with Ayers.

So it could be understood that Palin’s wording about Obama’s relationship with Ayers as being “palling around” would rightfully get a segment of the electorate worked up. And if some of the more unscrupulous characters within our electorate decide to threated the man with the middle name Hussein over these comments, that is their cross to bear. Don’t punish the messenger for the message.

And for the record, someone will eventually make a credible attempt at assassinating this guy and no one other than the idiot who makes that attempt will be responsible for his/her actions. It is called personal responsibility. My fear is that the attempt would be successful and we’d be stuck with Biden as our President.

Is Biden Out? The Thomas Eagleton Affair Part II

Internet rumors abound with stories of Big Mouth Joe’s impending departure from the Obama campaign soon after the Vice Presidential debate with Gov. Sarah Palin. Part of this I think is wishful thinking on the part of Hillary backers who are clinging to the hope that she’ll be named as Big Mouth Joe’s replacement. The other part is pure rumor.

The rumor is that after the debate Joe will render a public resignation citing health concerns. He had surgery in 1988 to repair 2 brain aneurysms. No one would question the motive for the change – at least in the Dems minds.

I would question the timing based on the recent public gaffes he’s made. The first being that Hillary would have been a better choice for Obama. Another suggested that FDR was President in 1929 when the stock market crashed when Roosevelt didn’t take office until 1933. He also suggest that FDR went on television to explain his plan to the country. First off Herbert Hoover was President in 1929 and television didn’t become commercially available until the 1940s and were not common place until the 1950s. So FDR couldn’t have gone on television in October of 1929 2 years before he was elected President and given an address to the people on a device that wasn’t yet available.

Mr. Biden’s grip on reality and history as the rest of the world has experienced it aside, ditching him as a running mate this late in the race would be suicide in Presidential politics. If it were to happen it would truly show that the Democrat Party doesn’t learn from its own history.

In 1972 George McGovern selected Sen. Thomas Eagleton to be his running mate at the last minute. Some say within an hour of the deadline. Not knowing that Eagleton had been hospitalized 3 times for Depression and was taking the anti-psychotic drug Thorazine. Another fact that didn’t come to the attention of anyone until later was that Eagleton had been treated with electroshock treatments in the 1960s. Eagleton was dropped from the ticket just 18 days after being named to it.

In the event you are wondering, McGovern lost the Presidential election by a huge margin. He only carried Kennedy stronghold Massachusetts (due to his replacing Eagleton with Kennedy in-law Sargent Shriver) and the District of Columbia giving him only 17 electoral votes. Richard Nixon garnered 520 electoral votes and even carried McGovern’s home state of South Dakota which had gone to the Democrat Nominee in each of the 3 previous Presidential races.

As for the Hillary angle…

Hillary does not want to be Obama’s sidekick. Slick Billy Bob Bubba said as much in the past couple of days. She wants to be the first woman elected President of the United States. The key word there is elected.

If she were to take the VP slot and they won, she could not challenge Obama for her Party’s Nomination in 2012. It would be a smart move for Obama, but a dumb one for Clinton. Unless of course Obama were to not complete his term. Anything involving the Clintons wouldn’t surprise me. So in another sense it would not be such a smart idea for Obama. After-all people who get in the way of the Clintons end up dead or ruined. Just ask Vince Foster – wait – you can’t. Because he’s dead along with nearly a hundred of other Clinton inconveniences.

Bottom line of the Hillary angle is that she’d be a fool to run with the O Dawg. She’s not the type that would play second fiddle to an upstart like Barry. It would mark the end of her political career to join his ticket win or lose. Just look at what happened to John Edwards.

Truth is that Biden will stick in my opinion. But in case he doesn’t, someone else will fill the spot not Hillary. She’s too smart and knows what it is going to take for her to get another bite at the apple. And being Barry’s #2 isn’t it.

Prediction – Biden costs Barry O the Presidency. Hillary wins the Nomination in 2012. Barry gets sent back to Illinois licking wounds caused by his associations with Wright, Ayers, and Rezko.

McCain/Palin Need to Close the Deal in 7 States

John McCain and Sarah Palin have at this time pretty much secured 189 of the required 270 electoral votes required to win the Presidency. That is only counting “Secure GOP” and “Likely GOP” states according to Rasmussen Reports Balance of Power Calculator.

Only 7 states and he clinches the election. Which? Florida(27), Indiana(11), and Ohio(20) are all leaning McCain now. But the fight isn’t over. Colorado, New Mexico, Nevada, and Virginia are pure toss-ups. Should the McCain/Palin ticket make a move in Colorado)9), New Mexico(5), Nevada(5), and Virginia(13) that would represent an electoral victory. That’s 279 electoral votes.

Electoral strategy should be to concentrate heavily on the 4 toss-up states and keep up the pressure in the 3 leaners. Nevada might fall to Obama due to the heavy influence of Las Vegas labor unions, but that would still represent a 274 electoral vote victory for McCain.

Then there are some possible cross-overs from the “Dark Side”. The “Leans Dem” states of Iowa(7), Pennsylvania(21), and Wisconsin(10) are all in play. Cinderella upsets in these states falling to McCain would widen the electoral victory.

This cannot be accomplished at all if Ohio, Indiana, and Florida fall to Obama. These 3 critical states are the keys to winning the others. Of these 3, Ohio is the most critical. No Republican has ever won the Presidency without winning Ohio.

McCain Supporter Takes MSM to the Wood Shed

At a rally in the birthplace of Big Mouth Joe Biden, Scranton PA, a woman took the mic at a McCain event, turned away from the Presidential Nominee, and began to verbally chastise the news media for going after Bristol Palin and ignoring Barry O’s ties to radical domestic terrorist Bill Ayers and slum lord Tony Rezko. She said,

“We want the media to start doing their job and stop picking on little children because of their age and their pregnancies,” she exclaimed. “Shame on you! Shame on all of ya’s!”

*Note – I’ve been searching for the full quote and if I find it I will post it in this spot.

This happened on a day when the McCain campaign fired back at the New York Times and their bias. According to Steve Schmidt a political strategist for the McCain campaign…

“Let’s be clear and be honest with each other about something fundamental to this race, which is this: Whatever the New York Times once was, it is today not — by any standard — a journalistic organization. It is a pro-Obama advocacy organization that every day attacks the McCain campaign, attacks Senator McCain, attacks Governor [Sarah] Palin and excuses Senator Obama.”

“This is an organization that is completely, totally, 150 percent in the tank for the Democratic candidate. It is an organization that has made a decision to cast aside its journalistic integrity and tradition to advocate for the defeat of one candidate — in this case John McCain — and to advocate for the election of the other candidate — Barack Obama.”

Sounds like another “news” organization in the headlines of the blogosphere lately, MSNoBodyCares. They were called to the carpet for their bias recently by a Democrat and then all of a sudden their two Crowned Princes of Vitriol were given a backseat for election coverage.

The public has had enough of the media trying to tell them what to do. Americans do not like being told what to do. We have this strange sense of – what’s the word… – INDEPENDENCE that those in the news media should be worried about. At a time when major news organizations are cutting staff to the bare bones in order to survive it is time that these organizations take a hard look at what they are producing.

The news media of the United States has largely become the propaganda wing of the Democrat Party. The ultra leftist ideas spewing forth from the daily fish wrappers are leading to a decline in circulation and that in turn has led to thousands of former dead tree media journalists in the unemployment line. This is not an economic downturn. This is a result of poor journalism and the loss of objectivity and the public’s recognition of this lack of objectivity.

Just give us the news. Leave your opinion at home.

Obama’s Plea: ‘Don’t Vote Because She’s Cute’

This was the feeble attempt by Michelle Obama to convince voters that they shouldn’t vote for McCain/Palin but rather Obama/Biden. Her theory? That the Obama ticket actually owns the issues and the McCain ticket only has a pretty face. Or at least that was the intent of the veiled warning.

In fairness, Obama covered her words by stating that she was referring to herself but as we all know, she’s not all that good looking to begin with, so I don’t see anything resembling the truth in her cover. But knowing that she meant to instruct voters that they should not vote for McCain/Palin because she’s cute, that also means that voters shouldn’t vote for Barack Hussein Obama simply because he’s black. Truth be told, and it has by many on the left as well as the right, the only reason why BO is where he is – is because he’s black. He is unqualified for the position that he seeks and those who are willing to leave history and race out of this election know this fact.

The leftards* of this country are willing to put “historical nature” or some twisted sense of reparations ahead of the good of the nation. We’ve seen in the past where this has led to terrible consequences. For instance, the historical nature of John F. Kennedy’s election.

Kennedy is the man who first sent troops into South Vietnam. A fact that is often overlooked by the Camelot dreamers left over from the 1960s. His assassination led to the ascension of Lyndon Johnson to the Presidency, Johnson’s escalation of the Vietnam Conflict, the fragmentation of the country because of the Conflict, AND the Great Society. Failure, Failure, Failure, and Failure. All because history needed a Catholic to be elected President. It was wrong then and it is wrong now.

Now we have threats of race wars if we don’t elect Barack. Anyone who doesn’t vote for Barack is already being referred to as racist. This nation is going to be torn apart along racial lines because a grossly unqualified black man got himself nominated by the Party of feelings.

On November 4th, the nation will go to the polls and make a decision in the question who is most qualified to lead this nation for the next 4 years. So let’s take Michelle’s advice and not vote because she’s cute, but let’s also not vote because he’s black. Voting for Barack because he’s black is racist. Not the other way around as others have suggested. And anyone who encourages race wars if Obama isn’t elected, Fatimah Ali, are more interested in dividing this nation along racial lines than electing anyone to the Presidency.

It seems to me that if the African-American community fails to accept the loss of Barack Hussein Obama in a civil manner, then perhaps this nation is not ready for an African-American as President. Threats cannot determine the outcome of this election. For if they do the nation cannot survive.

And that’s the truth…

Dem-Cong In Trouble

All year we’ve been hearing that this is a Democrat year. Why? Because the news media which is in the bag for the Dems say so? That’s the perception that I’m living under.

Each election cycle, we hear the same ‘ol BS that the Dems are going to take control. The people are fed up with Republicans. But it never plays out as dire as “they” say. This year seems to be swinging back the other way already.

In a new Gallup Poll of registered voters suggests that the Dems may only slightly maintain control of Congress. That is a far cry from the pie in the sky hopes that the Communists Democrats were claiming just a couple of days ago.

Senate Dems bragged that they may pick up as many as 12 seats. House Dems were suggesting as many as 20. But the facts may be playing out much to Democrat dismay.

According to Gallup…

A potential shift in fortunes for the Republicans in Congress is seen in the latest USA Today/Gallup survey, with the Democrats now leading the Republicans by just 3 percentage points, 48% to 45%, in voters’ “generic ballot” preferences for Congress. This is down from consistent double-digit Democratic leads seen on this measure over the past year.

As is true for the current structure of voting preferences for president, Democratic voters are nearly uniform in their support for the Democratic candidate in their congressional districts (92%), Republican voters are nearly uniform in their support for the Republican candidate (94%), and independents are closely split, with 44% backing the Democrat and 40% the Republican.

The positive impact of the GOP convention on polling indicators of Republican strength is further seen in the operation of Gallup’s “likely voter” model in this survey. Republicans, who are now much more enthused about the 2008 election than they were prior to the convention, show heightened interest in voting, and thus outscore Democrats in apparent likelihood to vote in November. As a result, Republican candidates now lead Democratic candidates among likely voters by 5 percentage points, 50% to 45%.

If these numbers are sustained through Election Day — a big if — Republicans could be expected to regain control of the U.S. House of Representatives. emphasis mine

It would be incredibly positive for the Democrats should every registered voter show up to the polls on November 4th and casts a Democrat vote. But reality is, they don’t.

Gallup has an explanation for why the Dems numbers are dropping…

The new USA Today/Gallup measurement of generic ballot preferences for Congress casts some doubt on the previously assumed inevitability of the Democrats’ maintaining control of Congress.

Until now, the dark shadow cast by George W. Bush’s widespread unpopularity has suppressed Republican Party identification nationwide, as well as voters’ willingness to support the Republican candidate running for Congress in their district.

Now that the symbolic leadership of the party is shifting away from Bush and toward the suddenly popular Republican presidential ticket of John McCain and Sarah Palin, things may be changing. This shrinks Bush’s shadow over the Republicans, revealing more of the Democrats’ own shadow stemming from high disapproval of Congress. The key question is how much of this is temporary because of the tremendous bounce in support for the Republicans on many dimensions coming right off of their convention. The degree to which the Republican bounce is sustained, rather than dissipates, in the weeks ahead will determine whether the 2008 race for Congress could in fact be highly competitive, rather than a Democratic sweep. emphasis mine

Americans are tired of the revenge politics of the Democrats. Don’t know what I’m talking about? Ok, here are a couple of examples.

Since coming to power, the Do-Nothing Dem-Cong has launched hundreds of probes into the Bush White House seeking evidence for which they can bring Articles of Impeachment against him. Why? Revenge for the impeachment of Slick Billy Bob Bubba.

When Sarah Palin was named John McCain’s running mate, the Obama campaign has been on a quest to portray Palin as grossly unqualified for the position in an effort to get her dropped from the ticket. Why? Because of what happened in 1972.

During the ‘72 election, George McGovern’s running mate Thomas Eagleton was found to have a previously undisclosed bout with mental illness forcing him from the ticket. It seems that Eagleton underwent electroshock therapy in the 1960s. McGovern never recovered.

Revenge is the key to Democrat thinking. And it is revenge that will cost them their precious majority.

The irony now is Joe Biden. Biden by his own admission is not the most qualified to be the Democrat running mate. He admitted the other day that Hillary Clinton would have been a better choice. If Biden drops from the ticket, Obama can blame the Eagleton affect for his loss in November.

The bottom line is the Dem-Cong is not likely to achieve the gains they are hoping for in November. It is more likely that they’ll either maintain a slim majority OR lose control to Republicans.

Obama’s Outrage Shows His Unpreparedness

It seems that the man with the middle name Hussein is a bit miffed at the usually accommodating press for accentuating his comment from yesterday – “you can put lipstick on a pig, but it’s still a pig” – which any reasonable person would assume is a jab at GOP VP Nominee Sarah Palin. He is claiming that it was taken out of context. He’s even more miffed at the McCain campaign for highlighting Obama’s insensitive comment.

“See, it would be funny, but the news media decided that would be the lead story yesterday. This happens every election cycle. Every four years, this is what we do. This is what they want to spend two of the last 55 days talking about…Enough!”

It is about time that the Obamassiah receive the same treatment from the press as everyone else gets in Presidential politics. Kind of reminds me of a song from one of my favorite bands.

“I know a thing or two about her, I know she’ll only make you cry, She’ll let you walk the street beside her, but when she won’t she’ll pass you by…” – KISS ‘Strutter’

The “her” and the “she” in the lyric reminds me of the press. It can be overly accommodating at one point then turn on you like a possessed pit bull at others. The press has been in the tank for Obama for so long when it decided to turn on him he had the reaction of an individual who is NOT prepared for the rigors of the Presidency.

His harsh reaction to the press’s 180 is proof that he cannot be an effective leader. If he cannot handle the minor criticism of the American press what is he going to do when faced with Russia’s increasingly hostile posturing, Iran’s quest for nuclear weapons, and al Qaeda?

Obama went on to say,

“These are serious times and they call for a serious debate…spare me all the phony outrage. Spare me all the phony talk about change.”

He’s right, these are serious times and we need serious people in charge. Problem with Obama is that he cannot handle the job. We’ve been saying for the past 19 months that he is ill equipped to handle the Presidency of the United States of America. The job is simply above him.

The McCain campaign, being the reasonable people they are, had the same reaction of Obama’s pig comments as the rest of us did and took him to the mat over it which sparked his comment from today. Reacting to today’s comment from “The Chosen One”, McCain spokesman Brian Rogers said,

“Barack Obama can’t campaign with schoolyard insults and then try to claim outrage at the tone of the campaign. His talk of new politics is as empty as his campaign trail promises, and his record of bucking his party and reaching across the aisle simply doesn’t exist.”

As for Obama’s comment, “Spare me all the phony talk about change,” then Barack ought to drop the word from his vocabulary entirely. He’s not an agent of change. He is nothing more than a younger version of Teddy “The Lush” Kennedy and nothing else. Barack Hussein Obama is nothing less than the same old product of the Chicago Democrat Machine. Change… He doesn’t know the meaning of the word.

If he hopes to defeat Hillary Clinton for his Party’s nomination in 2012 then he’s going to have to learn how to deal with a hostile press and people taking what you say out of context because that is what the job entails – like it or not. Because he’s losing this election and even the most hardened Democrats are realizing this.

Salon.com columnist Camille Paglia has even written…

I must admit that McCain is currently eating Obama’s lunch.

And…

Conservative though she may be, I felt that Palin represented an explosion of a brand new style of muscular American feminism. At her startling debut on that day, she was combining male and female qualities in ways that I have never seen before. And she was somehow able to seem simultaneously reassuringly traditional and gung-ho futurist. In terms of redefining the persona for female authority and leadership, Palin has made the biggest step forward in feminism since Madonna channeled the dominatrix persona of high-glam Marlene Dietrich and rammed pro-sex, pro-beauty feminism down the throats of the prissy, victim-mongering, philistine feminist establishment.

They see the election slipping away. They see the writing on the wall. They see a day in January when John S. McCain III on the steps of the Capital Building raises his right hand and says, “I John S. McCain do solemnly swear…” They see Sarah Palin doing the same and their world is crashing in around them. They’ve nominated the wrong candidate for President and they know it.

Obama: ‘You Can’t Just Reinvent Yourself’

Barack Hussein Obama has opened up a can of worms that I think might have been in his best interest to have left unopened.

He said,

Well, how about Gov. Palin? She’s you know, an up and comer from Alaska. She – they’re starting to run an ad now saying she opposed the bridge to nowhere. Well now, let’s get the facts clear here. When she was mayor, she hired a Washington lobbyist to get earmarks – pork barrel spending – all the things that John McCain says is bad, she lobbied to get! And got a whole lot of it. When it came to the bridge to nowhere, she was for it until everybody started raising a fuss about it and she started running for governor and then suddenly she was against it!

You remember that? For it before you were against it? I mean you can’t just make stuff up. You can’t just recreate yourself. You can’t just reinvent yourself. The American people aren’t stupid. SOURCE

Well perhaps he should take a long hard look at himself. He attempts to reinvent himself with each audience that he speaks in front of. He has got to be THE second most disingenuous individual to ever run for the Presidency. The first being Billy Bob Bubba himself.

He has been telling lies and half-truths for the past 19 months and the people are seeing that. His statement that Gov. Palin is attempting to reinvent herself is a deception. After-all he must cover his tracks from yesterday when he said that he signed up for Selective Service right after he graduated high school when in fact the requirement to sign up for Selective Service did not exist in 1979 when he graduated.

There is an old joke about politicians that asks, “how do you know when a politicians is lying to you?” The punch line is, “his lips are moving.” No one in this race epitomizes that more than Barack Hussein Obama who has been attempting to reinvent himself since he went off to Harvard.

Sharrod Brown – The Harry Reid of Ohio

January 16, 2010

This morning I received an email “newsletter” type correspondence from one of my Senators. I say “my” Senators with a bit of jest because neither of them fully represent my interests OR the interests of Ohio. Voinovich is a spinless RINO and Brown – well let us just say that Sharrod Brown is Harry Reid’s [...]

With an announcement on the heels of a poll showing that she cannot win, GOP candidate for the NY-23 House seat Dede Scazzafava is now effectively out of the race.
Dear Friends and Supporters:
Throughout the course of my campaign for Congress, I have made the people of the 23rd District and the issues that affect them [...]

UK Paper: Sarah Palin blamed by the US Secret Service over death threats against Barack Obama

November 8, 2008

The Telegraph, a U.K. daily newspaper, is making the claim that the Secret Service warned former GOP Vice Presidential Nominee Gov. Sarah Palin that her comments about Barry O “palling around with terrorists” prompted death threats against the man with the middle name Hussein. HOGWASH!

Is Biden Out? The Thomas Eagleton Affair Part II

September 25, 2008

Internet rumors abound with stories of Big Mouth Joe’s impending departure from the Obama campaign soon after the Vice Presidential debate with Gov. Sarah Palin. Part of this I think is wishful thinking on the part of Hillary backers who are clinging to the hope that she’ll be named as Big Mouth Joe’s replacement. The [...]

McCain/Palin Need to Close the Deal in 7 States

September 23, 2008

John McCain and Sarah Palin have at this time pretty much secured 189 of the required 270 electoral votes required to win the Presidency. That is only counting “Secure GOP” and “Likely GOP” states according to Rasmussen Reports Balance of Power Calculator.
Only 7 states and he clinches the election. Which? Florida(27), Indiana(11), and Ohio(20) are [...]

Obama’s Plea: ‘Don’t Vote Because She’s Cute’

September 19, 2008

This was the feeble attempt by Michelle Obama to convince voters that they shouldn’t vote for McCain/Palin but rather Obama/Biden. Her theory? That the Obama ticket actually owns the issues and the McCain ticket only has a pretty face. Or at least that was the intent of the veiled warning.
In fairness, Obama covered her words [...]
