Remember that we are talking about the guy who said, “under my plan of cap and trade, electricity prices will necessarily skyrocket” (:35 seconds into the video below). Seems to this blogger that Mike Lester’s cartoon is extremely accurate. If you watch the video, Obama mentions the fact that prices for oil, natural gas, and other means of heating your home will be going up as well.
This from the guy who has the Oval Office so hot, his advisers have to attend meetings in shirt sleeves.
The capital flew into a bit of a tizzy when, on his first full day in the White House, President Obama was photographed in the Oval Office without his suit jacket. There was, however, a logical explanation: Mr. Obama, who hates the cold, had cranked up the thermostat.
“He’s from Hawaii, O.K.?” said Mr. Obama’s senior adviser, David Axelrod, who occupies the small but strategically located office next door to his boss. “He likes it warm. You could grow orchids in there.”
Ok… I’ll concede that Obama is from Hawaii originally but he lived in Chicago for how many years?!? I’m sorry Mr. Axelrod, that dog don’t hunt.
Truth be told, Obama is another typical Lear Jet Liberal who preaches to the masses about how our activity is impacting the planet and also has the audacity to tell us to alter our ways without any intention of altering his. He’s a hypocrite. Especially when you begin to notice the rapid decline in atmospheric temperatures. Someone is whitewashing someone. Question: Are you noticing that it’s you?
And as an aside – who cares how much it costs for the Emperor to have the Oval Office so hot that he can grow orchids anyway. He’s not paying the bill. The taxpayers are.
For nearly 3 years, the die hards of the Church of Global WarmingClimate Change of Modern Day Idiots have been attempting to push the idea that the science proving man is the cause of global warming climate change (in their words) “is settled”. They nearly succeeded until…
Last November, and continuing as I write, evidence questioning the methods and practices of the so-called “scientists” behind this planetary hoax began to flood in. First it was the emails in excess of 60 MB that showed that the “scientists” conspired to discredit evidence contrary to their boondoggle, avoid peer-review of contradictory studies, and hide data from Freedom of Information Act (UK) requests. Ever since, we’ve been treated to evidence supporting theories that changes in global ocean currents and sunspot activity have a more direct impact on climate change than man’s measly 3% contribution to atmospheric CO2. The latest, however, is nearly the most damning: the IPCC’s use of an article from a magazine as evidence that Himalayan glaciers were melting and would all but disappear by 2035. As we all know now, that wasn’t based on any scientific study at all, but merely the speculation of another so-called “climate scientist” for an article published in the mountain climbers version of Runner’s World.
This past week, the findings of the Penn State internal investigation of Professor Michael Mann’s methods in developing the now discredited “hockey stick graph” (which supposedly proved man’s CO2 contributions were causing global warming) turn up no evidence of wrong doing. Wait a minute! No evidence of wrongdoing?!? The guy selectively counted tree rings in the development of his theoretical “graph”. That’s akin to reading tea leaves, relying on a rodent to tell you if winter is ending, and analyzing the bands on woolly bear caterpillars to predict the severity of an upcoming winter. I didn’t know reliance on folklore was considered “scientific” these days. What’s next? Tarot Cards? Ouija Boards? What gets me is the willingness of those who believe this tripe to accept these faith based predictions but yet these are the same people who reject GOD and religion as superstition.
All this aside, today I read an article in the London Times (online version) titled, “I thought of killing myself, says climate scandal professor Phil Jones”. In the event you’ve been living under a rock and do not know who Phil Jones is, he’s the egghead in charge of the East Anglia University Climate Research Unit – you know, the source of all those damning emails. He told the Times that he thought of killing himself over the controversy. Remember, the IPCC relied heavily on the findings of the East Anglia CRU in determining their findings. They also relied on data from the WWF which was word for word from the above mentioned magazine concerning the impending fate of the Himalayan glaciers (the article that originated from a mountain climbing magazine – not any scientific study or journal).
For years, the WWF, High Priest Al Gore, and others have been pushing the idea that arctic sea ice has been decreasing and as a result, polar bears are in danger of extinction because their hunting grounds are disappearing. We now know that arctic sea ice is NOT decreasing. Summer sea ice has actually expanded by 409,000 square miles AND polar bear populations have actually increased since 1979. Will Noah Wiley now please SHUT UP ?!?(I’m personally a little sick of his propaganda based panhandling)
The world has begun to pass legislation imposing financial penalties onto businesses, and in some cases individuals, which violate arbitrary CO2 limits based on the findings of the IPCC report which anyone can now realize is a hugely flawed document. The science is NOT settled and it isn’t even close to being settled. Before the nations of the world begin to craft legislation which destroys the global economy, the controversy should be truly settled and fully understood. Not some half-assed guessing and slapping together of arbitrary numbers that make up limits, percentages, etc. without regard to cost. These people making these chicken little predictions about the world’s climate are the same morons who attempt to predict our weather. They can’t be accurate 5 days in the future, but you are willing to take their word about 100-year predictions?!? If you do, you are an imbecile; a non-thinking sheep of a person willing to buy whatever bill of goods presented to you and unwilling to listen to reason.
Before we have a massive shift in our sources of energy that are inefficient, unreliable, and massively expensive, we should make absolutely certain of the evidence that man is in fact causing climate change. As long as there is one skeptic, the science cannot be deemed as “settled”. Claiming so only proves that it isn’t.
We’ve already allowed them to ban incandescent light bulbs based on this hoax and the US was on the verge of passing a massively destructive Cap and Tax bill. Obama was willing to sacrifice US sovereignty and sign on to a global agreement in Copenhagen that would permit the building of a global governmental authority with the power to tax nations who violate the arbitrary CO2 emissions standards of the agreement. He was willing to become subservient to an agreement as the world’s worst polluters remain unbound by the same agreement. This is unacceptable.
As we’ve seen this week, winter has made its presence known again with more than 2 feet of snow in the nation’s capital (a record if you are keeping score over there at East Anglia University). This wasn’t supposed to happen, but it did. With all this evidence to the contrary, how can ANYONE still believe the science is “settled”?!? Those making money by blaming man still say it’s “settled,” but poll numbers show that the people do not. THIS is the decline of the Church of Global WarmingClimate Change of Modern Day Idiots. It’s about time.
This week, the President and his Infestation began to speak of a second stimulus “jobs bill”. They’ve been instructed to not use the word stimulus but to use “jobs bill” instead according to an Infestation official in a television interview. If you are thinking, “yeah, it’s about time the Infestation addresses the space station level unemployment/under-employment numbers,” perhaps you need to take a few minutes and think about where the government gets all this money they are doling out.
First and foremost, the government doesn’t have any money. To insist that the government is using government money to fund something is ignorant to that fact. The government gets the money it wastes from “We The People” through the over-taxation of the employed. Government doesn’t create anything or provide a marketable skill for which it is compensated. Government is nothing more than a clearing house for pilfered money.
If you then think about the efficiency with with the federal government operates you must come to the conclusion that the feds manage money like a crack addict. For example – welfare programs. The government does not spend 100% of every dollar designated for helping the poor on the poor. It only spends about $.70 on the dollar. The other $.30 pays for the bureaucracy the government has in place to “redistribute” the nation’s wealth. Seeings how the government can only achieve D worthy work in this area, does it make sense to give them more money to waste? I mean a 70% success rate any student will tell you is almost failing.
As more and more people are forced onto the government dole due to the mismanagement of the economy by the President, his Infestation, and the pinheads in the majority in both houses of Congress, that system of “redistributing” what’s left of the nation’s wealth will only get less efficient. But then again, that is what Obama learned from his study of Cloward-Piven.
Remember their strategy was to overwhelm the system in order to create a crisis for which the only answer would be to implement draconian solutions such as socialism. That is why it is called the Cloward-Piven Strategy for Socialist Revolution. And Obama studied it.
His calls for a second stimulus “jobs bill” are just another phase in his plan to “fundamentally transform America”. He’s going to “transform” us from a nation of free peoples seeking for our own niche in society from which we can prosper into a society enslaved by an ever present, all knowing, all seeing, and all intrusive government which tells us what we will do as an occupation and how much wealth we can accumulate. Something tells me that Obama was cheering for “Big Brother” in George Orwell’s ‘1984′.
He boldly touts the “success” of his first stimulus package citing a phantom 2 million “created or saved” jobs. But where were they? Who knows? The Infestation sure doesn’t. Their own website recovery.gov lists allegedly “created or saved” jobs in Congressional districts that do not exist in zip codes that don’t exist either. If there is no such location, how then can there be a job “created or saved” there?
When Obama pushed for his stimulus package, he promised that without it unemployment “may go as high as 8%”. Here we are sitting at 10% unemployment (with many states way above 10%) after his stimulus package passed. If the President was right when he warned us it would go to 8% without his stimulus, had Congress not acted would unemployment have gotten this high? Many believe not. Many believe (and count me among them) that the President’s stimulus program made economic conditions worse.
And while we are talking about these lofty unemployment numbers, let us not lose sight of the fact that the number of unemployed/under-employed in this country is in excess of 17%. That’s 17% of our nation’s population either not working or working for a wage that is insufficient to pay the monthly bills. That is a crime.
Quoting Lewis Carroll –
“The time has come,” the Walrus said,
“To talk of many things:
Of shoes–and ships–and sealing-wax–
Of cabbages–and kings–
And why the sea is boiling hot–
And whether pigs have wings.”
The truth of the matter is that for all the President’s talk about rescuing this nation’s economy nothing could be further from his mind. He is not interested in rescuing this economy as-a-matter-of-fact he intends on damaging it further in his effort to bring about the dream of Cloward and Piven. Like the oysters in Lewis Carroll’s poem, America is being led to the feast.
“A loaf of bread,” the Walrus said,
“Is what we chiefly need:
Pepper and vinegar besides
Are very good indeed–
Now if you’re ready, Oysters dear,
We can begin to feed.”
“But not on us!” the Oysters cried,
Turning a little blue.
“After such kindness, that would be
A dismal thing to do!”
“The night is fine,” the Walrus said.
“Do you admire the view?
“It was so kind of you to come!
And you are very nice!”
The Carpenter said nothing but
“Cut us another slice:
I wish you were not quite so deaf–
I’ve had to ask you twice!”
“It seems a shame,” the Walrus said,
“To play them such a trick,
After we’ve brought them out so far,
And made them trot so quick!”
The Carpenter said nothing but
“The butter’s spread too thick!”
“I weep for you,” the Walrus said:
“I deeply sympathize.”
With sobs and tears he sorted out
Those of the largest size,
Holding his pocket-handkerchief
Before his streaming eyes.
“O Oysters,” said the Carpenter,
“You’ve had a pleasant run!
Shall we be trotting home again?’
But answer came there none–
And this was scarcely odd, because
They’d eaten every one. [1]
And we, my fellow peasants of the United Socialist States of Amerika, are the main course. That is once Obama achieves his goals.
If you believe that Obama is going to rescue this economy then be prepared for a shock. Because that promise my friend stinks of pigs aloft.
Before I close I’ll remind you of a very simple truth that I’ve written many many times before…
You cannot legislate universal health, but you can legislate universal sickness;
You cannot legislate universal prosperity; but you can legislate universal poverty;
You cannot legislate universal happiness; but you can legislate universal dispair.
And Obama is attempting to legislate all the above.
Rep. Jim Jordan (R OH-4) has issued a statement in response to President Barack Obama’s State of the Union (aka: Democrat pep talk).
For the past year, President Obama and Speaker Pelosi have led the nation on a reckless course of uncontrolled spending and a massive new government expansion into the private businesses and personal lives of Americans.
These big-government policies, from the $787 billion stimulus bill that failed to create jobs, to the budgets and bailouts that are creating an insurmountable debt for our children and grandchildren, have been disastrous to our economy.
Tonight, the President said he wants to increase federal spending even more, then “freeze” spending at an ultra-high level. Continuing this irresponsible level of spending will further put this country on a collision course with disaster.
Last week, the voters of Massachusetts sent a clear message to Washington – stop the big spending. The President heard the same message when he visited with job-creators in Ohio last week – big spending doesn’t create jobs.
I have supported the concept of a freeze, but the baseline number must be much lower. If the President is willing to freeze non-security spending at the levels from when he took office last year – before the stimulus, before the other big increases – then you will find Republicans ready to work with him.
If the administration is serious about fiscal responsibility, then let’s get to work – but it’s going to take more than budget gimmicks and bloated baselines to get our economy moving again.
The only reason why Obama is proposing a freeze on spending now is to insure that Republicans don’t lower spending on the designated programs for the remainder of his Infestation. The numbers being thrown around concerning budget savings generated by the proposed freeze are insignificant in relation to the over-all budget. It is my feeling that this proposal by Obama is disingenuous. He only wants to insure that the political payoffs that he was able to forced through Congress while his Party had the 60-vote super majority remain in place.
Last week I was watching an interview on Fox News that involved Bob Beckel (Democrat Strategist) and a Conservative (who I don’t recall). Beckel was attempting to make a point that allowing the Bush tax cuts to expire is “just allowing them to return to Clinton era levels”. Fine Bob. How about we first cut spending back to Clinton era levels before we mess with tax rates. Then if the country is still running a budget deficit, we can discuss tax increases. Because raising taxes will do nothing to cut the deficit as long as Congress continues to spend money.
Oh, and before the Clintonian Koolaid Kids claim that I’m endorsing Clinton era policies remember 1 thing. A Republican Congress passed the budget that ran a surplus. More over, it was a Republican who wrote the bill – John Kasich who happens to be running for Governor of Ohio.
Everytime the Emperor opens his mouth these days, he’s spouting the virtues of his economic recovery plan. Problem is, he doesn’t want recovery. He needs economic collapse in order to implement his real agenda.
A few days ago I mentioned a plan for the economy laid out in the 1960’s which is finally coming to fruition now. It is called the Cloward-Piven Strategy for Socialist Revolution. In order to truly understand Barack Obama, you must first fully understand his influences.
Obama studied the Cloward-Piven Strategy and fully believes in it. He also studied, and even taught, Saul Alinsky’s Rules for Radicals which he also fully believes in. Obama is the marriage of both the Cloward-Piven Strategy and Saul Alinsky’s Rules. Everything that he has attempted to do since January 20, 2009 is in fully accordance with both.
Inspired by the August 1965 riots in the black district of Watts in Los Angeles (which erupted after police had used batons to subdue a black man suspected of drunk driving), Cloward and Piven published an article titled “The Weight of the Poor: A Strategy to End Poverty” in the May 2, 1966 issue of The Nation. Following its publication, The Nation sold an unprecedented 30,000 reprints. Activists were abuzz over the so-called “crisis strategy” or “Cloward-Piven Strategy,” as it came to be called. Many were eager to put it into effect.
In their 1966 article, Cloward and Piven charged that the ruling classes used welfare to weaken the poor; that by providing a social safety net, the rich doused the fires of rebellion. Poor people can advance only when “the rest of society is afraid of them,” Cloward told The New York Times on September 27, 1970. Rather than placating the poor with government hand-outs, wrote Cloward and Piven, activists should work to sabotage and destroy the welfare system; the collapse of the welfare state would ignite a political and financial crisis that would rock the nation; poor people would rise in revolt; only then would “the rest of society” accept their demands.
The key to sparking this rebellion would be to expose the inadequacy of the welfare state. Cloward-Piven’s early promoters cited radical organizer Saul Alinsky as their inspiration. “Make the enemy live up to their (sic) own book of rules,” Alinsky wrote in his 1972 book Rules for Radicals. When pressed to honor every word of every law and statute, every Judaeo-Christian moral tenet, and every implicit promise of the liberal social contract, human agencies inevitably fall short. The system’s failure to “live up” to its rule book can then be used to discredit it altogether, and to replace the capitalist “rule book” with a socialist one.
The authors noted that the number of Americans subsisting on welfare — about 8 million, at the time — probably represented less than half the number who were technically eligible for full benefits. They proposed a “massive drive to recruit the poor onto the welfare rolls.” Cloward and Piven calculated that persuading even a fraction of potential welfare recipients to demand their entitlements would bankrupt the system. The result, they predicted, would be “a profound financial and political crisis” that would unleash “powerful forces … for major economic reform at the national level.”
Their article called for “cadres of aggressive organizers” to use “demonstrations to create a climate of militancy.” Intimidated by threats of black violence, politicians would appeal to the federal government for help. Carefully orchestrated media campaigns, carried out by friendly, leftwing journalists, would float the idea of “a federal program of income redistribution,” in the form of a guaranteed living income for all — working and non-working people alike. Local officials would clutch at this idea like drowning men to a lifeline. They would apply pressure on Washington to implement it. With every major city erupting into chaos, Washington would have to act.
This was an example of what are commonly called Trojan Horse movements — mass movements whose outward purpose seems to be providing material help to the downtrodden, but whose real objective is to draft poor people into service as revolutionary foot soldiers; to mobilize poor people en masse to overwhelm government agencies with a flood of demands beyond the capacity of those agencies to meet. The flood of demands was calculated to break the budget, jam the bureaucratic gears into gridlock, and bring the system crashing down. Fear, turmoil, violence and economic collapse would accompany such a breakdown — providing perfect conditions for fostering radical change. That was the theory.
Ask yourself, “what is happening right now? What if any of this is the Emperor attempting to do?” The truth is, all of it.
I want you to think back all the way to January 20, 2009. I know that is a stretch for some of you. Especially those linking here from DRONE sites. But try.
The national debt on the day that Barry took over was sitting at $10.6 Trillion. A shocking sum to say the least. However, now take a look at the national debt today. In just one year, Barack Obama, with the help of Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid, raised the national debt from $10.6 Trillion to $12.3 Trillion. To put this into context, when George W. Bush took office on January 20, 2001 the national debt was at $5.7 Trillion. Over 8 years in office the national debt increased $4.9 Trillion. In case you are keeping score that is an average of $600 Billion per year.
Barack Obama has raised the national debt $1.7 Trillion in just one year. The Senate is looking to raise the debt ceiling another $1.9 Trillion which the White House is projecting will last the government until June 2011. If that actually lasts out the year they’ll be lucky.
At the rate that Barry and this Congress is spending money, by the time Obama leaves office, if left unchecked, the national debt will be $17.8 Trillion in just 4 years. Bush added $4.9 Trillion over 8 years. Obama is projected to add $7.2 Trillion in half that time.
So what is he spending money on? Political payoffs and expanding the welfare class.
His agenda is destroying the ability for the private sector to conduct business. It is leading to massive unemployment levels which chases many from the middle class onto the government dole. Seems that he is attempting to collapse the economic system a la Cloward-Piven through expansion of the Nanny State.
Every time he proposes something to bring about economic recovery, he is actually proposing measures that would have the opposite effect. Ask yourself, what sense does it make to raise taxes during a recession? The short answer is – it doesn’t. But he is hell bent on allowing the Bush tax cuts which have kept this country from plummeting into a full blow depression to expire. In that one non-action, Obama, Pelosi, and Reid will be eliminating the 10% tax bracket effectively giving those at the bottom of the income ladder a 50% increase in their taxes. If he is willing to do that to the lowest of income earners, what then is he willing to do to those above the current 10% bracket?
From top to bottom, allowing the Bush tax cuts to expire will have dire consequences for this country economically. Why? Cloward-Piven.
Saul Alinsky said the ends justify the means. If his means are this dastardly, what then are the ends toward which he is directing his means? Full blown Socialism.
“Economic recovery or economic ruin? What is he up to?” Economic ruin. No doubt about it.
Former United States Congressman and Ohio Gubernatorial candidate Republican John Kasich announced his pick for the next Lt. Governor of Ohio, Auditor of State Mary Taylor.
It truly is a new day in Ohio and I am excited to join John Kasich as we embark on a mission to transform state government as we know it.
The failed policies of the past three years have resulted in a 10.6 percent unemployment rate and the loss of 330,000 jobs. Ohio can’t take it anymore.
John Kasich and I will use our experience and accomplishments to reinvent state government. We will work together to bring jobs back to Ohio because we know that if government gets out of our way, Ohioans will prosper.
I am excited about this winning ticket and the more John and I talk and discuss the important issues facing our state, the more I realize how similar our record of leadership and accomplishments really is and how much this partnership truly makes sense.
I hope you will join us as we spend the next several months outlining our plans to establish an environment conducive for job growth and prosperity for all Ohioans.
Mary Taylor tried to warn Uncle Ted that he was facing a hole that he couldn’t spend his way out of but he wouldn’t listen. Now Mary is joining John Kasich in building a team that will not only bring Ohio out of that hole but create a business environment that will attract new businesses to the Buckeye State.
Our businesses are leaving us at an alarming rate. Why? Because of the aggressive tax system in place in Ohio. Kasich and Taylor want to eliminate the estate tax (6%) and phase out the income tax. These efforts along with other pro-business initiatives will create an environment that people want to live and work in. And if the costs of business go down, jobs will come back.
In less than 11 months, this nation will again go to the polls and cast ballots which will be instrumental to the future of the Republic. The question that will be answered on November 2nd will be…
Does this nation wish to continue down the Obama road toward socialism reminiscent of the former Soviet Union? Or does this nation wish to be the great and powerful champion of freedom as it has traditionally been?
The answers will come in the form of who you choose to represent you at the state and federal levels. Candidates for governor, senator, and congressman are all looking for your approval and those you choose will be endowed, through your choice, to shape the direction of this country and answer the above question.
In Ohio, Rob Portman is seeking to fill the soon to be vacated Senate seat of retiring RINO George Voinovich. According to RedState.com and the Dayton Daily News, Portman is leading both Democrat hopefuls in the polls.
The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey in the state shows Portman now leading Brunner 40% to 33% after holding a two-point advantage in September. Just seven percent (7%) would choose another candidate, but 20% are undecided at this point.
Portman continues to run nearly even with Fisher 38% to 36%. In their match-up, 18% of Ohio voters are undecided, while another eight percent (8%) prefer another candidate. The two were virtually tied in September as well, with Portman just ahead 41% to 40%.
From the Dayton Daily News via the same emailed press release:
With a promise to focus “like a laser” on jobs and the economy, Republican Rob Portman on Thursday, Jan. 7, opened his statewide U.S. Senate campaign headquarters in Columbus.
An estimated 200 Portman backers packed the suite of offices about four miles from downtown Columbus, despite an escalating snow storm outside.
The weather was reminiscent of the launch of Portman’s campaign nearly a year ago on Jan. 14 at the historic Golden Lamb in Lebanon.
Portman, a former U.S. House member from suburban Cincinnati and former trade representative and budget director under President George W. Bush, is the state Republican party’s endorsed candidate but faces a primary challenge from Cleveland-area car dealer Tom Ganley.
State Republican Chairman Kevin DeWine of Fairborn told the crowd that Portman was part of the “best slate of candidates that Republicans” have had in Ohio in more than a generation.
“I agree with what Chairman DeWine said,” said Portman. “This is going to be a good year.”
Lt. Gov. Lee Fisher and Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner are seeking the Democratic nomination.
The race is for the seat being vacated by Republican U.S. Sen. George Voinovich who is retiring.
It is important that Ohio stand up to the Obama socialism machine being fueled by the Harry Reid/Nancy Pelosi US Congress. Liberals are in control and socialism is the order of the day. But it can be reversed.
Ohio has a socialist Senator in Sharrod Brown. He is a Harry Reid/Barry Obama stooge who read Richard Creamer’s 1997 book which outlined the current health care legislation. He, like Reid/Pelsoi/Obama and the rest of the Democrat Pary, has read and subscribed to the Alinsky model of political radicalism. Ohio needs a check on the Sharrod Brown’s residing in the Senate chamber and Portman is that guy.
Elsewhere in Ohio politics, Ohio’s moronic governor is up for re-election as well. He is facing substantial opposition from former US Congressman John Kasich.
Unemployment in Ohio has jumped to 10.5%, the state is wrestling with an $851 million budget shortfall, and Governor Ted Strickland has proposed delaying a tax cut approved in 2005. Add it all together, and it’s a tough environment for the incumbent Democratic governor who now trails his expected general election opponent by nine percentage points in an early look at the 2010 race.
The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey in Ohio shows Republican John Kasich getting 48% of the vote while Strickland picks up just 39%. Three percent (3%) say they’d prefer a third-party candidate, and 11% are not sure who they would vote for. In September, the two men were essentially even.
Uncle Ted has completely mismanaged Ohio’s budget. We’ve got library closures and reduced services in the libraries that are still open. We’ve seen the closure of 4 of Ohio’s state run mental hospitals leaving thousands of mentally ill Ohioans without services. And a plan out of Uncle Ted to reduce classroom sizes in Ohio which has led to teacher shortages and mobile education modules being used as full-time class rooms.
Oh, and as for that tax cut that Rasmussen says Uncle Ted is considering delaying…
Well the cut has already been factored in to current Ohio income tax withholding tables. Delaying it would mean that Ohio’s workers will not have had enough deducted from their pay to cover their tax liabilities translating to every single Ohio worker needing to write the state a check come April 15th. That is if Uncle Ted approves the delay. Well he did.
Ohio is bleeding jobs because it is not an environment conducive to conducting business. Ohio has traditionally been a heavy industrial and agricultural state. Our heavy industry is just about gone. Gone are the steel plants in Youngstown and Cleveland. Gone are the auto plants in Dayton, Cleveland, Youngstown, and Cincinnati. I’m sorry, but the farmers cannot sustain our state’s economy.
Ohio is also bleeding population. Many seniors are fleeing the high taxes of Ohio for the tax safe havens of Florida, Texas, and Tennessee. Many of our workers are chasing jobs that are going to other states as well. For instance, NCR used Obama stimulus money to leave Dayton for South Carolina. In case you didn’t know it already, NCR invented the cash register in Dayton where NCR was founded. Proctor and Gamble is considering leaving Cincinnati. GM and Chrysler have closed plants all across Ohio and many large and small contractors who supplied these plants followed suit and closed as well.
Ohio is not the only state in trouble and this is translating into a major problem for Democrats. They are the Party in power and this economy belongs to them. Our elected officials continue to spend money that our great grandchildren can’t supply. And make no mistake about it, this debt being run up is no longer our debt. It is the debt of generations yet to be born. Today’s politicians are spending their money not ours.
Republicans stand to gain big at the end of this year and I’m hoping that they can do a better job than the current crop of socialists Democrats. But they should be on notice…
IF YOU GAIN OUR VOTE YOU MUST FOLLOW THROUGH WITH THAT FOR WHICH YOU ARE BEING ELECTED. CUT THIS GOVERNMENT. CUT IT DEEP. REDUCE SPENDING AND THE SIZE OF GOVERNMENT OR 2012 WILL TRULY USHER IN THE END OF THE 2-PARTY SYSTEM. YOU’LL BE OUT AS WELL.
What lesson have we learned over this Death Care debate? A very simple truth that has finally been clearly defined. There is no such animal as a moderate democrat. If there is a D next to the name, they are a radical liberal.
What is my proof? The ease at which it seems that Harry Reid of all people can buy votes from the likes of Ben Nelson and Mary Landrieu. All it took was a couple of million in additional Medicaid funding to grab these idiots who have sold out an entire nation in direct opposition to the wishes of their constituents.
Article 42. Citizens of the USSR have the right to health protection.
This right is ensured by free, qualified medical care provided by state health institutions; by extension of the network of therapeutic and health-building institutions; by the development and improvement of safety and hygiene in industry; by carrying out broad prophylactic measures; by measures to improve the environment; by special care for the health of the rising generation, including prohibition of child labour, excluding the work done by children as part of the school curriculum; and by developing research to prevent and reduce the incidence of disease and ensure citizens a long and active life.
Article 43. Citizens of the USSR have the right to maintenance in old age, in sickness, and in the event of complete or partial disability or loss of the breadwinner.
The right is guaranteed by social insurance of workers and other employees and collective farmers; by allowances for temporary disability; by the provision by the state or by collective farms of retirement pensions, disability pensions, and pensions for loss of the breadwinner; by providing employment for the partially disabled; by care for the elderly and the disabled; and by other forms of social security.
That’s right campers. This whole distorted idea that health care is a right stems from the Soviet Union. It was pushed heavily by the likes of Woodrow Wilson, Franklin Roosevelt, Harry Truman, Lyndon Johnson, Jimmy Carter, and Bill Clinton. Many of whom had heavy majorities in both houses of Congress and couldn’t seal the deal. It took a confirmed Communist in the form of Barack Hussein Obama to stick it through to passage.
Even Bill Clinton saw the political death associated with passage of universal health care in 1993 so he shelved Hillarycare. But not Barry. Oh No. Barry made this his one goal. If he could accomplish one item that would do more damage to the nation formally known as the United States he would do it with health care. Because he knew that heath care was the key. It is currently 1/6th of the economy and is about to become a larger share.
Companies whose workers are represented by labor unions are going under at a remarkable pace. Why? The costs of health care are bankrupting these companies. Unions will not budge on them and companies can’t pay for them. So what happens? Unemployment.
There is nothing in the Death Care bill put forth in either chamber that has a hope of lowering costs. If anything, it will dramatically increase the cost of coverage. Why? Because there is nothing reigning in the out of control litigation happy trial attorneys.
Costs are going to rise. Taxes are certain to rise because of this legislation. And as for the uninsured… Well about 24 million of the touted 30 million uninsured will still be uninsured.
This bill is front loaded with taxes to pay for it. And before you buy into the low estimated 10-year costs keep one thing in mind. There is 10 years worth of taxes in that estimate but only 5 years of coverage. The actual costs for 10 years worth of coverage will be about triple the number the CBO scored it at (and this is a conservative estimate).
People between Medicaid, Medicare, and this new sham of a bill, the US health care system will in all likelihood be over 2/3rds of the federal budget by the time this thing is fully implemented. The unfunded liabilities of this nation are staggering. At a point when this nation is in an already deep recession, it is unfathomable that this government is considering – much less implementing – a massive increase in entitlement spending. There is only one department these pinheads ever consider cutting – defense. Can we really afford that in a post September 11th world?
I’ve been meaning to comment on November’s unemployment numbers since their release but have been pulled in several other directions and my blogging efforts are the casualty. That said, here are my thoughts on the massive recovery in the job sector…
First off, and this may be news to all the pinheads who believe the Infestation’s estimations of the nation’s unemployed, a .2% drop in new jobless claims in November does not a recovery make. Let’s first take a look at what month we are talking about – November. What happens in November Class? Anybody? Short answer – seasonal hiring.
That’s right campers, that miraculous .2% tumble in new jobless claims can in all likelihood be attributed to seasonal hiring in the retail sector. Come January, I see a massive jump in new jobless claims as those who are currently taking part-time retail work to put presents under the tree for their kids suddenly find themselves again looking for work.
Next, let us not forget that the numbers used to gauge the nation’s unemployed are NEW Jobless Claims as filed in the various states. It does not count those who are already in the system. It also does not count those who take part-time (or seasonal) work or other menial jobs for less pay than that which they were receiving in their former positions. This is called – mark this down libtards, it is a word that you have obviously never heard of – underemployed. The underemployment rate in this country is estimated to be between 17 and 18 percent. A disastrous number if the average American Lemming were to ever take the time to understand.
Since the beginning of this recession an estimated 7 million jobs have been lost. Approximately 4 million of those jobs have been lost since Emperor Barry took command. Unemployment has more than doubled under his watch as the federal budget deficit has tripled. The government is spending like crazy and making fictitious claims of “saving” jobs. Now the Turd-in-Chief wants to spend nearly $200 Billion more under the guise of creating jobs?!? It is time someone cut up Mr. Obama’s National Debt Credit Card.
There is one major reason why employers are not hiring right now and it is a concept that libtards cannot understand if you presented them with full color animated illustrations. Uncertainty.
With a certainty of a massive tax increase as the Bush tax cuts sunset combined with the uncertainty over health care reform, the lack of credit being extended to small and medium sized businesses, and a daily barrage of legislative proposals designed to crater the market economy of the United States, employers are apprehensive about hiring anyone at this point.
The word tax means to impede. Taxes are an impediment to the private sector. As tax rates increase, the number of jobs decrease. As jobs evaporate, government revenues evaporate as well. The liberal answer to lower government revenue is to raise tax rates which in turn eliminates additional jobs.
It is a mistake to believe that doubling down on the mistakes which create an atmosphere in which fewer people support the masses will improve the situation. As fewer and fewer people are contributing to the government through taxes on income, the less able the government is going to be to support the dependency state which they have created for the rest of the population.
Try as they may to shift the blame for the current economic conditions in this country to the Bush Administration, this President and his Administration are responsible for this economy. The President said that if Congress did not pass his $787 billion Porkulus package unemployment would rise over 8%. They passed it, he signed it, and unemployment hit a 26 year high of 10.2% anyway. Obama owns this recession so do not let them get away with their attempts to pawn off their responsibility. Remember, the worse the unemployment rate got under the Bush Administration was 6.5% (in 2008).
The 10% unemployment numbers for November are still extremely bad. Don’t be fooled into thinking this Infestation has finally gotten their collective heads out of their proverbial backsides because new jobless claims dropped an anemic .2%.
.2% of 7 million unemployed is a relatively insignificant number.
Emperor Barry and his vast cadre of imbeciles continually tout one of the few campaign promises that His Majesty has actually gotten implemented but they have failed to point out something detrimental to the American people as a result of the Imperial Tax Credit. The Treasury Department failed to account for people with multiple jobs and families with multiple incomes when it adjusted federal income tax withholding tables as part of the Emperor’s tax credit. As a result, many will owe more in taxes this tax year.
When will the American people wake up and realize that for every liberal good intention there is a massively harmful side affect? Liberal programs inevitably cost hundreds of times more than originally estimated but yet they keep passing more and more social programs with “good intentions”. They implement social programs without thinking anything through or considering the possible damaged caused in doing so. Want and example? How about Cash for Clunkers for one.
Cash for Clunkers was originally intended to last 4 months. It lasted 4 days on its original funding which needed to be supplemented and the program had to be drastically shortened or run the risk of being a complete failure. Most dealers in fact are actually still waiting to be reimbursed by the federal government for approved Cash for Clunkers deals. The program removed perfectly good cars from the private sector and destroyed them in a way where not even the parts were salvageable.
Now this same government which is incapable of thinking long term to identify harmful effects created by the legislation that they pass, are on the verge of destroying the private sector health care industry in the name of fairness. Their claims? 47 million “Americans” are without health care coverage but the dominant proposal on Capital Hill will fail to insure 30 million of these “Americans”. First I must point out that many of the “Americans” that the Imperial Infestation and Liberal Majority in Congress are identifying in that 47 million number aren’t even US citizens.
Back to the point of the Obama Tax Credit I have to include that it is nothing more than a shell game. A tax credit that has no hope of having long term benefits to the American people or the American economy. It was a simple matter of making good on a bumper sticker campaign promise in order to say, “See, I told you that I’d give a tax break to 95% of Americans.” In reality it actually says, “here, take this ineffective one-time tax credit and while you do, we’ll allow the Bush Tax Cuts, which have kept this economy from completely crashing, to expire.” But yet, they aren’t raising taxes on lower or middle income Americans. But aren’t they?
It seems to me that the Bush Tax Cuts included the creation of the 10% tax bracket and dropped millions of the lowest income Americans from the taxpayer rolls entirely. When they expire, those paying 10% will have their tax liability increase 50% (from 10% – 15%). Still more low income Americans who have a tax liability of 0% will now be taxed at 15%.
Now what about those middle income Americans that Obama promised to not tax? Well their personal rates may fall. Yes I said fall. But that is only because their incomes will be falling as well. It is impossible to tax someone who no longer has an income. Many of these people are going to be finding themselves out of work. Under Obamanomics we already have 10.2% unemployment. As these tax rates are increased many more will be joining those already on the unemployment ranks.
Speaking of the unemployment numbers, this 10.2% number doesn’t even include those who are actually out of work and quit looking or those who have taken part-time work (underemployed). Many experts have indicated that the actual unemployment/underemployment rate is somewhere north of 16%.
I’m sorry people, any time the net effect of an action or inaction by the federal government results in a rise in the tax rate that is in fact a tax increase. The Bush Tax Cuts expire next year and as they do those who create jobs will have an increase in their personal tax liability. When this happens, fewer jobs will be created.
The Emperor claimed prior to the Porkulus Package that if we didn’t pass his plan unemployment would reach the very scary rate of 8%. Well campers, here it is 9 months later and unemployment is sitting at 10.2% and looking skyward.
The rise of Emperor Barry is synonymous with the rise of the dependency class. How can someone who has been a member of the dependency class all or part of their life expect to climb out of the trap if others are being added to the dependency rolls on a daily basis? It is absurd to think that the path to prosperity is through government dependency. Prosperity is gauged by the level of economic mobility achieved. Economic mobility is the ONLY measure of true freedom. Without it, you are dependent.
We as a people are quickly becoming the Emperor’s peasant class. Without his benevolent patronage, we will all suffer and starve. This is the Utopia vision that Barack Hussein Obama has in store for all of us only he is afraid to tell you himself. But the picture of his vision is evident in his proposals and in his actions. It is being openly spoken of by those he is obviously indebted to like Andy Stern of SEIU and former members of his inner circle like Anita Dunn and Vince Jones. The big question is, are you listening?
Cartoonist – Mike Lester
Remember that we are talking about the guy who said, “under my plan of cap and trade, electricity prices will necessarily skyrocket” (:35 seconds into the video below). Seems to this blogger that Mike Lester’s cartoon is extremely accurate. If you watch the video, Obama mentions the fact that prices for oil, [...]
