Normally Dem Friendly AP Calls Obama Out on Deficit Responsibility Denial

President Juggears attempted to shift blame for the escalating federal budget deficit onto his predecessor…

Obama -

“Number one, we inherited a $1.3 trillion deficit…. That wasn’t me. Number two, there is almost uniform consensus among economists that in the middle of the biggest crisis, financial crisis, since the Great Depression, we had to take extraordinary steps. So you’ve got a lot of Republican economists who agree that we had to do a stimulus package and we had to do something about the banks. Those are one-time charges, and they’re big, and they’ll make our deficits go up over the next two years.

However, the normally liberal friendly Associated Press isn’t buying it. In an unusual confirmation of just exactly how the federal government is defined by the United States Constitution, the AP reminds us…

Congress controls the purse strings, not the president, and it was under Democratic control for Obama’s last two years as Illinois senator. Obama supported the emergency bailout package in President George W. Bush’s final months – a package Democratic leaders wanted to make bigger.

To be sure, Obama opposed the Iraq war, a drain on federal coffers for six years before he became president. But with one major exception, he voted in support of Iraq war spending.

The AP even goes further confirming Republican and Conservative reminders that President Obamaramadingdong is actually making the economy worse with his “fix” for our nation’s financial woes.

The economy has worsened under Obama, though from forces surely in play before he became president, and he can credibly claim to have inherited a grim situation.

Still, his response to the crisis goes well beyond “one-time charges.”

He’s persuaded Congress to expand children’s health insurance, education spending, health information technology and more. He’s moving ahead on a variety of big-ticket items on health care, the environment, energy and transportation that, if achieved, will be more enduring than bank bailouts and aid for homeowners.

The nonpartisan Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget estimated his policy proposals would add a net $428 billion to the deficit over four years, even accounting for his spending reduction goals. Now, the deficit is nearly quadrupling to $1.75 trillion. – emphasis mine

For all the excuses that the AP makes for the man with the middle name Hussein in their article, they also are pointing out his disconnection with the truth. Which is in fact something that we on the right have been telling you since before YOU voted for him. YOU, the American voter, are responsible for what is happening with our country. YOU, allowed Barry the Wonder Turd to become POTUS in spite of questions that have gone unanswered to this day. YOU elected him without knowing who he is. And YOU buried your head in the sand when he began to show his colors before the election writing off verbal mistakes which gave us glimpses into his intent.

YOU, whether YOU voted for Barry the Wonder Turd or not, are equally guilty as those who did because YOU didn’t do enough to prevent his election. YOU, allowed him to get away with avoiding substantive debate and taking his eloquent speeches on face value.

By failing to demand answers to the questions about his place of birth and his associations with known domestic terrorists, racist pastors, and known Communists, YOU have failed the American people past, present, and future.

My conscience is clear. I did my part. I voted against him and wrote about him. I asked the questions to which I am still demanding answers to. Where were YOU?

I find it incredibly disconcerting that the AP – the liberal propagandists that they are – are doing more to counter Obamaramadingdong’s pretty speeches attempting to absolve himself of all culpability than YOU are. It is time to act. It’s actually past time to act but the time for burying your head in the sand is OVER.

With the defection of Arlen Spector to the Democrat Party the Senate Majority Leader has the super majority required to bypass the Will of the People. It is now more imperative than ever to take away that majority.

1/3 of the Senate is up for re-election next year. We need to either reduce that majority to make it possible for the Republicans to block harmful legislation (no matter how well intentioned) or regain the majority in the Senate. Every single House seat is up and it is possible – no matter how improbable – to regain the majority there as well.

We also need State Houses. For example – Ohio.

Commie Ted Strickland is up for re-election in 2010. If not for the corrupt way in which his predecessor governed, he would NOT have that office now. Ken Blackwell would. But that wasn’t in the cards thanks to Bob Taft. But Ohioans have a shot in 2010. If someone like John Kasich can be persuaded to run, he would be elected by the Buckeye State.

It is YOUR job to find qualified candidates in YOUR state to throw these Commie Bums OUT OF OFFICE. So get up off YOUR [three letter term for Democrats] and get it done.

Democrat Incompetence Beginning to Show

I’m holding back the urge to say it, but it seems that I warned you all a year ago that Democrats are incapable of governing. And now it is showing. I hope, most likely in vain, that the American people remember this time the lessons being learned by their failure at the ballot box.

In 1980, under then President Jimmy Carter, interest rates were in excess of 20%, inflation and unemployment were in double digits, Iran was holding 52 American diplomats hostage, there was an oil embargo, odd and even gas rationing, and the FAILURE in the Oval Office enjoyed Democrat Party majorities in both houses of Congress.

Today, unemployment has hit double digits in a few states already and the current libtarded FAILURE infesting 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. has only been in office 2 months. The same majorities in Congress which failed to produce in the 110th Congress are flexing their legislative muscles and thrusting this nation down the path towards socialism in the 111th. The Obamaramadingdong and his Congressional allies are racking up trillions of dollars in deficits; and those interest rates won’t stay bottomed out forever. Inflation is rearing its ugly head and the Federal Reserve will not have long before they are forced to raise interest rates to slow the inflationary environment.

This is precisely what I warned about a year ago. It is a danger to have Democrats in charge of anything in this nation. They are better served keeping responsible leaders morally grounded. But as leaders, there hasn’t been any from the left since John F. Kennedy.

Some on the left side of life may disagree with that last statement and cite Bill Clinton to which I replay – Slick Billy Bob Bubba only began to produce positive results AFTER Republicans took over majorities in both houses of Congress in 1995. Clinton’s positives were the result of the Contract with America – which, had it not been abandoned by Congressional Republicans, would have continued to produce positive economic numbers and we wouldn’t have Obamaramadingdong pretending to be President.

While Rome burned, Nero fiddled. While the United States fails economically, Obama makes appearances on Jay Leno and hosts cocktail parties. And the First Lady plants organic vegetable gardens on the White House lawn.

We warned you about his elitism and you failed to listen. Will you listen now that the nation is going to hell in a hand basket? Somehow I doubt it.

Obama Mediocrity and Incompetence Will Doom the Obama Infestation

With less than a month before Barry Obama takes the oath of office, it has occurred to me to point out the consequences of electing this incredibly unqualified twit chief executive. The people elected Obama in guilt inspired fit of mass hysteria brought on by the liberal guilt machine which is also responsible for the asinine big brother style PC thought police that guilts people into censoring their speech. So much for the 1st Amendment that libtards like for you to believe they are trying to protect.

Before the 2004 Democrat National Convention Barack Hussein Obama was an unheard of (on a national scale) state Senator who had to that point in his career achieved very little. He was legislatively impotent preferring to take no position on anything other than the termination of human life and the neglect of children born alive following botched abortions. He has prided himself as a “community organizer” for whatever that job entails but as a “community organizer” he was just as impotent. He failed to achieve any of the goals he set out to accomplish. As a United States Senator he again, failed to achieve any notable success. In a sense, the 2008 Presidential election resulted in the most successful failure in US history being elected President of the United States.

Consequence #1 – What could we possibly expect from such an underachiever other than more failure?

Since the 2008 campaign launched itself shortly after Christmas 2006, Barack Hussein Obama has been riding a wave of popularity sparked by the proliferation of urban culture. The expansion of which has increased the rate of demoralization in America. White liberal guilt has permitted urban culture to blur the lines between acceptable and unacceptable behavior in this nation. How did it happen? Because white liberal guilt was permitted to become mainstream and as I discussed above – the PC police took control and it was no longer acceptable to question the expansion of this harmful behavior.

The imbeciles in the ghetto, who have traditionally been an unreliable voter base, registered by the millions because of the encouragement and sometimes illegal bribing from organizations such as ACORN. These voter registration efforts took place in largely black neighborhoods in urban areas and were largely successful because Barry is black. I hate to be the bearer of bad news to these simpletons from apathy central – but Barry has more in common with Georgie Soros than you. You bought a bill of goods that his election would empower you. News flash – nothing in your life is going to change.

How do I know this? I spend a lot of time in a largely black neighborhood in Cincinnati and have seen (post election) with my own eyes a sign that said “Yes We Did”. What exactly is that person expecting from the President-Elect? The moon. But there is no way on God’s green earth that Barry can deliver.

Since he was elected, America now has to tolerate people like Montel Williams appearing on television commercials in order to pimp coins with Barry’s likeness on them. Personally, I find these coins – and Montel Williams for that matter – tacky and repugnant.

Which leads me to consequence #2 – What is going to happen when the poor, apathetic African-American base who voted for Barry solely out of a sense of responsibility for getting the first black elected to the highest office in the land realizes that his election isn’t going to matter to them and they fail to support his re-election bid? Or for that matter, the re-election of those in Congress that Barry is going to rely upon to further his agenda? If they feel ignored the likelihood of their ever voting again is nil.

So I say congratulations Barry – for your sake I hope you are Superman and can make good on all your campaign promises. But wait, how could you when you promised different groups contradicting promises? You can’t.

It is impossible to be everything to everybody. But that is exactly what he was proclaimed to be. ‘The Chosen One’ ‘The Messiah’.

The truth is that Obama’s Presidency is doomed to failure before it begins. He can’t be everything to everybody so he isn’t going to even try. He got you to do his bidding and has 4 years to put forth an agenda which has not surfaced yet. His campaign rhetoric was just that, rhetoric. Empty promises that he never intended on honoring.

Obama has a hidden agenda – what that is, is anybody’s guess at this point. It could be that he doesn’t actually have one because he never believed that he would win. It’s possible, but I doubt it.

His mother and grandparents were avid socialists. He surrounded himself with these same kinds of people during his years as a student and “community organizer”. Why on earth would we now believe that he is anything but what he’s been groomed to be – a socialist. So could Marxism be his secret agenda? Possibly.

What I do know for sure is that he hasn’t a clue as to what the Presidency entails. Just as we don’t know exactly what a “community organizer” does. Since he is now privy to intelligence reports and military briefings, he has backed off his withdrawal plans. I wonder why? Could it be that it is much easier being an armchair quarterback than it is to suit up and take the hits?

I also know that there is a power struggle in the making within the Democrat Party and I doubt that sharing power with the Speaker of the House was in the President-elect’s plan.

In 2006 the American people gave the power of the purse to the Democrats and they squandered it. They had the power and did nothing with it. This inspired the people to further trust the Democrats with even more power – but that power will be for nothing as well.

I predict a widening recession maybe even full-out world wide depression brought upon by Democrat advocated regulations and bureaucracy. Obama’s solution? Roads and bridges. Sorry to inform the President-elect but roads and bridges are built by a core of companies who employ specialized personnel. On top of that, there is an asphalt shortage in this country. Unless the President-elect finds a new way to surface roads and bridges, those projects will do nothing to stimulate the economy.

The economy is just one of many issues that Obama will face in his first year as President. However, he is grossly underqualified to address these issues. He has spent years avoiding taking positions on anything but death. Death of the unborn and unwanted. Why should we believe that he has any clue about how to solve the problems that every-day people face every day? He can’t.

As I quoted below the banner of this page, Ann Coulter said it best when she said, “In the spirit of reaching across the aisle, we owe it to the Democrats to show their president the exact same kind of respect and loyalty that they have shown our recent Republican president.” It is my duty and that of every Conservative blogger to point out the political errors of the majority and be the political opposition in this country. Because if we fail we would surrender total power to liberals. And when that happens, this nation would become the USSA (Union of Socialist States of America).

Obama – Reagan Comparison? News-weak Writer Must Be Stealing from Barry’s Stash [UPDATED]

News-weak writer Eleanor Clift is making some rather far fetched comparisons about Barry Obama. Since the election, we’ve been treated to comparisons of ‘The Chosen One’ as being another JFK, FDR, and Lincoln (this one is a stretch as well), but Clift in some sort of narcotic induced hallucination actually is making the case that Barry O may be a new Reagan?!? This is the sort of fantasy that is produced only if the writer has been visiting the next President’s street grade pharmacist. The next thing you know Clift will be making a pilgrimage to Switzerland where voters just approved government controlled prescription heroine.

From News-weak:

Enough with the Lincoln analogies; Reagan is the president that Barack Obama is most closely modeling himself after. Ronald Reagan inherited stagflation, a defeat abroad and a nation at its nadir in morale. Through the sheer force of his personality as much as his policies, four years later, it was “Morning in America,” the theme of his 1984 re-election campaign when he won 49 states. Obama isn’t president yet, but his determined calm and orderly transition pace appear to be soothing the financial markets, producing the first sustained gain in stocks since the mid-September meltdown.

It is a good thing that Clift as-well-as the rest of Liberal-land don’t require facts before making statements in the here and now. History revision is the biggest tool of the trade for liberal Amerika. Forget about the huge losses since November 4th and concentrate on a single 5-day period.

From USA Today:

The Dow has rallied 17% during its current five-session win streak — its best five-session run since 1932. The rallies coincided with Obama-related news and public appearances where he introduced his economic dream team and sent a clear message that he’ll do whatever it takes to repair the economy.

That would be good news if it were to remain out of context. But if you place that 5-day period in context, you will notice a near 2000 point steady free-fall since the election before the rally which sparked the 5-day 17% gains.

The credit crisis is the source of the down-turn in the economy. A crisis which was sparked by the collapses of the housing market. A collapse which was in turn caused by a Carter era federal mandate on the housing market and lending institutions and largely ignored by the DemocRAT leadership. Not to mention fueled by Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae from whom the future President took hundreds of thousands of dollars to ignore problems.

Liberals in the main stream media and on the net can live the Utopian fantasy that Obama is going to be the savior of all things secular but then there is the truth. He is about to destroy this country. Our only salvation is the structure under-which our government operates. Our only savior truly is the Constitution.

In 4 years we have the opportunity to send him back to Chicago which is on track to be the home of more non-domestic related homicides than a war zone.

Another Reagan, I don’t think so Ms. Clift. Perhaps you and Barry O had better lay off the “blow” and take an honest look at history. Ronald Reagan oversaw the longest sustained period of economic growth in American History. Barry O is likely to be another Jimmy Carter if anything. As-a-matter-of-fact I predict that the happiest person in America come November of 2012 will be Carter because he will no-longer be known as the worst President in American history.

Take a look at the long-term history of the dow before you believe anything that the Obama drunk MSM says about King Barry the Great.

The measly 5-day gains attributed to Barry in context.

Hat Tip: Newsbusters

UPDATE

On the day in which Barry O has made his nomination of Sen. Clinton to become his Sec. of State, the Dow Jones Industrial Averages plunge an additional 679.95 points, or 7.70%, to 8149.09, the S&P 500 slumped 80.03 points, or 8.93%, to 816.21 and the Nasdaq Composite fell 137.50 points, or 8.95%, to 1398.07. But according to the liberal media, Obama is the savior of the economy. Seems to me that with every new announcement from the man with the middle name Hussein, comes more dire news from Wall Street. Some savior.

$500B More? You’ve Got To Be Kidding!

First it was $700B in the hands of one person. Henry Paulson is the first person in the history of this nation to have sole control over that much of this nation’s money. But Congress isn’t done. Talk on the hill is that they are considering anywhere between $300 – $500B more in stimulus. WHAT? WHERE DO THESE MORONS THINK THIS MONEY IS COMING FROM!!!

Since they are determined to spend money that we don’t have, are they at least going to spend it in a way that would actually stimulate the economy? Nope.

Talk on the hill is that they want to put this money into infrastructure. They want to build roads and bridges with the money in hopes that it would put people to work. Problem – only those who work in road construction will get work. Judging by the amount of road construction taking place in Ohio I can say with some level of certainty that those people aren’t in danger of losing their jobs.

Second problem… There is a very real shortage of asphalt in this country.

$500B in new spending on roads and bridges will do nothing to stimulate this economy. If the proponents of stimulus wish to truly stimulate the economy… give the money back to the taxpayers. Or do an income redistribution and give it to everyone. This asinine idea of putting the money into road projects won’t do anything to stimulate a bowl movement let alone this economy. It’s not like I’m in favor of socialist income redistribution, but at least that would release the money back out into the private sector and get it out of the hands of the bureaucrats and into the hands of people that would actually use it to stimulate the economy.

Coming into the holiday season (See also Christmas) investors on Wall Street are fearful of a sluggish retail season. A $500B boost to the retail sector would do more to stimulate the economy than a road project that wouldn’t get started for at least 12 months that would rely on asphalt that is in short supply.

Congress…

If you are bound and determined to spend this money, do so in a way that would actually help the economy. Then again, Democrats don’t exactly have a track record of having a grasp on the economy. The last Democrat President that did anything that actually helped the economy was John F. Kennedy.

Now I understand that there are some libtarded history revisionists who will point to the balanced budgets and budget surplus under Clinton as a success story. Problem – Presidents don’t pass budgets. Every President proposes a balanced budget. It is Congress that throws it out of balance.

The balanced budgets and budget surplus of the late 1990s are the result of fiscally responsible Republican Congress who chose not to overspend.

Now that idea went the way of the do-do in the 2000s when Republicans began to act like Democrats but truth be told, it was a Republican Congress that was responsible for that surplus and those balanced budgets not Democrats.

This nation has a habit of crediting and demonizing Presidents for actions that they have no actual control over. The reason? Most of this nation hasn’t a clue as to how this country actually works. People believe in fantasy provisions in the Constitution like abortion and ignore the actual balance of power contained in its text. The apathetic nature of the electorate is how we end up with an empty suit as President Elect. We are now finding out more about this twit than we heard about during the campaigns. We finally know that he proposes to raise a private army answerable to him directly and mandate that middle school, high school, and college students participate in hours of “community service”. Sounds to me as if he wants to create an Obama Youth in the model of Adolf Hitler.

But hey America, you voted for it. Count me in with the 57,000,000 who didn’t.

Barry O, Barney Frank, Chrissy Dodd, Fannie, Freddie, and Bailouts

Writing from Baby Gribbit’s hospital room at Cincinnati Children’s Medical Center…

For the past 7 days, Mrs. Gribbit and I have been relatively insulated from current events as we deal with our daughter’s medical conditions.

That said, we have a few words to say about who is responsible for the financial crisis that Congress is and the President are attempting to ease by employing socialist practices.

This condition was set-up back in the 1970s by a President and a Congress that was convinced then, as the 110th Do-Nothing Congress is now, that a shifting of the US economy from a free-market system to a socialist model was a way forward, in other words ‘progressive’, solution for economic prosperity for the American people. History has shown that President and Congress were failures to the people of this country and we are astonished by how complicit Republican members of Congress and the President are in releasing the socialism genie from his bottle. A genie mind you that will be massively difficult, if not impossible, to shove back in that bottle. But he’s out and now we must live with their decision to release him.

In 1977, Congress and President Jimmy Carter enacted The Community Reinvestment Act. According to the Federal Reserve Board…

The Community Reinvestment Act is intended to encourage depository institutions to help meet the credit needs of the communities in which they operate, including low- and moderate-income neighborhoods, consistent with safe and sound operations. It was enacted by the Congress in 1977 (12 U.S.C. 2901) and is implemented by Regulation BB (12 CFR 228). The regulation was substantially revised in May 1995, and was most recently amended in August 2005.

The CRA’s revisions have in a sense allowed for loans to be granted to individuals who didn’t have the means to pay them back. Gas prices shot up because Congress and Presidents of both Parties have failed to adopt energy policies that would eliminate our dependency of foreign oil and people no longer could afford to pay on these ill-advised loans. And a crisis was born.

Compounding the problem was Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. The companies were seen as being federally backed and as such under CRA had the power to purchase these questionable mortgages and thus encouraged lending to individuals with questionable credit. Fannie and Freddie would re-sell the loans at a profit. The purchasing financial institutions believed they were buying federally insured loans. Freddie and Fannie made massive profits which they shared not only with their corporate officers, but also with politicians.

I find it incredibly ironic that those in Congressional leadership at this present time, and responsible for bringing the bailout bill to the floor of each house, were themselves recipients of some of the highest political payoffs from Fannie and Freddie? Not only that but the freshman Senator from the state of Illinois, ‘The Chosen One’, none-other than the Democrat Nominee for President of the United States took the second highest amount of money from Fannie and Freddie. Barry Obama has spent less than 4 years in the Senate and he too took hush money from Fannie and Freddie to the tune of $126,349. Friends that is over $32,000 per year in the Senate. He is supposed to be the candidate for ‘Change’!?! Sounds like the same old Washington graft machine to me. After-all, he is a product of the Chicago Machine.

Higher gas prices were the trigger of the economic free-fall but the full impact is due to poor lending practices brought about by libtarded legislation with pie-in-the-sky utopian goals of social experimentation. Experimentation mind you that had no oversight.

In 2003, President Bush proposed legislation that would have created a new department in the federal government that would have over-seen Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. That legislation went nowhere. In 2005, Senator John McCain proposed legislation that would have clamped down on Freddie and Fannie and it was tabled in Committee by Chris Dodd in the Senate and Barney Frank in the House. Both are attempting to pin this on the Bush Administration. Barry O is trying to claim this as well and tie a perception of a failed economic policy. Bush and McCain attempted to fix the problem. Frank and Dodd helped to perpetuate the problem. Frank, Dodd, and Barry O are all in bed with those who triggered this mess. They are all members of the Party that made it possible and they all protected those who made it happen.

I think that perhaps we need legislation requiring any elected official, past, present, or future who take money from companies, organizations, or individuals that are bailed out by the federal government to pay the federal government an amount equal to the donations received.

Barry… that will be $126,349 Barry! Time to pony up ‘Hope’ boy!
Chrissy… your bill is $165,400! How about offsetting the price to the taxpayers banking boy!
Frankie… your share is not as much Frankie. You must be a cheap date. You would only owe $42,350 if such legislation were passed.

I won’t hold my breath since these are crooks who get to write such legislation.

Must be nice to create a problem that requires a massively expensive solution, that you get to design, someone else has to pay for, and you can place culpability for on your political opponents huh?

I’m sick to death of the Democrats denials in this matter. But what gets me more is the press’ willingness to allow those actually responsible to use them to lie to the people. And even more, the Politically Apathetic American Lemmings* who believe anything the MSM has to say.

Now if you don’t mind, I’ll get back to my sick baby.

Obama and the Financial Collapse

Barry O and his Democrat friends on the hill would have you believe that the Bush Administration is responsible for the current mess that they are attempting to buy our way out of. Buy that is with taxpayers’ money. These are the same people who collected donations from the very institutions which created this mess.

I’ve got a series of videos detailing Barry’s culpability along with that of his DemCong leadership colleagues. But of course, they want you to believe that keeping them in power and awarding Barry with the Presidency is ‘Change’. Not hardly.

H/T: Ms. Underestimated

Senator McCain has picked up on Barry’s advisors…

First there is Jim Johnson

Next there is Franklin Reines

The Chicago Machine…

Change? I think not. Barry is nothing more than the same failed Democrat pie in the sky Utopian dreaming policy that failed Mr. Lyndon Johnson and Mr. Jimmy Carter. They were wrong in the direction of the country when they tried the libtard direction and Barry is wrong trying to take us in that direction now.

And what about the bailout?

I am Gribbit and I approve THIS message…

Fannie and Freddie Could Have Been Avoided 3 Years Ago

From FoxNews.com:

Isn’t it ironic that SanFran Nan and the rest of her fellow Democrats including their Nominee for President, Barry O, are blaming the Bush Administration for the down turn in the economy sparked by poor lending practices in the housing market? Isn’t it strangely ironic that in recent days we have found out that the problems stemmed from practices put into place to placate the Senate Banking Committee in 2005? And Isn’t it just a bit more than a coincidence that the current Chairman of the Senate Banking Committee, Christopher Dodd (D CT) and the Democrat Nominee for President of the United States one Barack Hussein Obama, received the highest amounts in contributions from Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac? It’s true according to several sources. Most especially Open Secrets.

Dodd received $165,400 from Fannie and Freddie’s PACs and Employees.
Obama received $126,349 from Fannie and Freddie’s PACs and Employees.

On top of these revelations we have also discovered that the Democrat Nominee in 2004, a certain John F. Kerry, received $111,000. That is as of September 8, 2008.

To be completely fair, it seems not many in the House and Senate from either Party are not guilty of taking Freddie and Fannie money. To his credit, Sen. John McCain took contributions from individuals but not Freddie and Fannie’s PACs.

The most interesting fact of these numbers is the fact that Barry O took the second highest amount of money from Fannie, Freddie, and their employees in the shortest amount of time. He has only completed 3 years and just under 9 months of his first term as a United States Senator and did not serve in the House before this term. So in just under 4 years in the Senate, most of which time he has spend campaigning for President, he has taken $31,500 per year in office. That is more than a lot of people make in personal income in a single year.

Bottom line is that those responsible for the current mess are running Congress. Now Congress is willing to take some action on oversight. That is like putting the fox in charge of the hen house after a majority of the hens have been eaten. This could have been fixed in 2005.

Besides FoxNews… Where is the news media? Absent as usual when it comes time to report on Democrat failure.

DemCong on Offshore Drilling Ban: UNCLE!

Democrat hopes of using a bill that partially lifted the ban on offshore drilling as a campaign tool has been shown for what it is – smoke and mirrors election year trickery. If by chance it survived the Senate and made it to the President’s desk it would have had the life expectancy of a mosquito in a bug zapper. And I think it is understood that there isn’t a snowball’s chance in Satanland of the DemCong over-riding his veto because the required votes simply do not exist.

The Democrats’ excuse for their capitulation is a result of their finally understanding reality. They know that anything that goes to the President which continues the moratorium on drilling, including that sham of a bill passed by SanFran Nan’s libtarded House, would be sent back to the Congress with red ink all over it. Reality is unless the ban is lifted or allowed to expire the government will have to take a vacation and Republicans would be able to capitalize on the ineffectiveness of the 110th Do-Nothing Congress.

House Minority Leader John Boehner said…

If true, this capitulation by Democrats following months of Republican pressure is a big victory for Americans struggling with record gasoline prices.

Now the end of the moratorium will not mean that drilling will commence any time soon. Congress, still controlled by the Democrats, would have to approve royalty sharing with the states in order for the state governments to allow drilling to begin. That won’t happen. In a sense the defacto ban would still be in place.

ON THE OTHER HAND…

What if Congress changes hands? Or maybe just one house changes hands? Royalty sharing could be on the table especially if McCain were to win the Presidency as he has made it a campaign pledge.

Prediction…

I see gas prices falling in the next week or so as we saw after President Bush’s executive order lifting the executive ban. Just that one simple indicator was enough to drive down price at the pump nearly 30 cents per gallon in 6 weeks. Imagine when all the barriers are gone.

Campaign impact…

McCain needs to push forward with the differences in the philosophies between the Parties. He needs to inform as many as he can that the Do-Nothing DemCong wanted to cloud the issue with a smoke and mirrors bill. He needs to point out that the Dems are happy to be in the control of countries that aren’t our friends. They are happy as long as their allies in the environmental lobby are happy. Environmentalism equals energy dependence and McCain needs to use this in order to capitalize on the philosophical differences.

It is no secret that the vast majority of Americans want to drill American oil in order to eliminate our dependency. The DemCong blinked first. Now it is time for Republicans to capitalize on their weakness.

Democrat ‘Leadership’ or the Lack Thereof…

… and the affects on the economy due to their incompetence

Cartoonist – Bob Gorrell

Congress in their infinite wisdom banned offshore drilling 27 years ago. That legislation is due to expire this year providing that the Do-Nothing 110th Congress doesn’t do anything to reinstitute that failed policy.

The US House of Representatives has passed what they are considering a compromise bill that includes lifting of the ban on drilling or so they are billing it. It allows drilling offshore – but outside a 50 mile limit. Most of the oil reserves that we need to tap are within the 50 mile limit that the Congress is continuing the ban on. So Pelosi and her brain dead colleagues on the left side of the aisle have done nothing to end the current practice. They’ve passed a Do Nothing bill so they can go out on their re-election recess and claim that they tried and blame Republicans for blocking it or President Bush for vetoing it.

Keep in mind, that the current legislation only lifts the ban on drilling outside a 50 mile limit AND is set to expire at the end of the year. Fat lot of good Mrs. Pelosi has done for this country huh? She and her colleagues are not interested in dependency from foreign oil they are only interested in blaming the Republicans for your woes when the fact is they are to blame for your problems.

Democrats are the champions of smoke and mirror politics. They create a crisis, make a token political effort to make the people believe that they are trying to solve the problem that they created, then blame Republicans for not solving the problem that they created. The energy problems that we are experiencing are nothing new. They are 27 years in the making and are a product of a Democrat controlled Congress. Now it is left to a Democrat controlled Congress to solve but they refuse. They’d rather play political games than solving a problem that they created during an election cycle. And the people will vote for them.

Nancy and Harry will be on the stump after next week blaming Republicans for not wanting to drill when this sham bill fails in the Senate or is lucky enough to be one of the few bills that President Bush gets to veto. This bill does nothing, will do nothing, and will expire in a few short months. At this point Congress should just do what it has done since it first convened in January of 2007 – nothing. That way the current ban will expire and then the people of the United States will finally win one.

Normally Dem Friendly AP Calls Obama Out on Deficit Responsibility Denial

April 30, 2009

President Juggears attempted to shift blame for the escalating federal budget deficit onto his predecessor…
Obama -
“Number one, we inherited a $1.3 trillion deficit…. That wasn’t me. Number two, there is almost uniform consensus among economists that in the middle of the biggest crisis, financial crisis, since the Great Depression, we had to take extraordinary [...]

Democrat Incompetence Beginning to Show

March 21, 2009

I’m holding back the urge to say it, but it seems that I warned you all a year ago that Democrats are incapable of governing. And now it is showing. I hope, most likely in vain, that the American people remember this time the lessons being learned by their failure at the ballot box.
In 1980, [...]

Obama Mediocrity and Incompetence Will Doom the Obama Infestation

December 29, 2008

With less than a month before Barry Obama takes the oath of office, it has occurred to me to point out the consequences of electing this incredibly unqualified twit chief executive. The people elected Obama in guilt inspired fit of mass hysteria brought on by the liberal guilt machine which is also responsible for the [...]

Obama – Reagan Comparison? News-weak Writer Must Be Stealing from Barry’s Stash [UPDATED]

December 1, 2008

News-weak writer Eleanor Clift is making some rather far fetched comparisons about Barry Obama. Since the election, we’ve been treated to comparisons of ‘The Chosen One’ as being another JFK, FDR, and Lincoln (this one is a stretch as well), but Clift in some sort of narcotic induced hallucination actually is making the case that [...]

$500B More? You’ve Got To Be Kidding!

November 12, 2008

First it was $700B in the hands of one person. Henry Paulson is the first person in the history of this nation to have sole control over that much of this nation’s money. But Congress isn’t done. Talk on the hill is that they are considering anywhere between $300 – $500B more in stimulus. WHAT? [...]

Barry O, Barney Frank, Chrissy Dodd, Fannie, Freddie, and Bailouts

October 4, 2008

Writing from Baby Gribbit’s hospital room at Cincinnati Children’s Medical Center…
For the past 7 days, Mrs. Gribbit and I have been relatively insulated from current events as we deal with our daughter’s medical conditions.
That said, we have a few words to say about who is responsible for the financial crisis that Congress is and the [...]

Obama and the Financial Collapse

September 27, 2008

Barry O and his Democrat friends on the hill would have you believe that the Bush Administration is responsible for the current mess that they are attempting to buy our way out of. Buy that is with taxpayers’ money. These are the same people who collected donations from the very institutions which created this mess.
I’ve [...]

Fannie and Freddie Could Have Been Avoided 3 Years Ago

September 24, 2008

From FoxNews.com:

Isn’t it ironic that SanFran Nan and the rest of her fellow Democrats including their Nominee for President, Barry O, are blaming the Bush Administration for the down turn in the economy sparked by poor lending practices in the housing market? Isn’t it strangely ironic that in recent days we have found out that [...]

DemCong on Offshore Drilling Ban: UNCLE!

September 23, 2008

Democrat hopes of using a bill that partially lifted the ban on offshore drilling as a campaign tool has been shown for what it is – smoke and mirrors election year trickery. If by chance it survived the Senate and made it to the President’s desk it would have had the life expectancy of a [...]

Democrat ‘Leadership’ or the Lack Thereof…

September 19, 2008

… and the affects on the economy due to their incompetence

Cartoonist – Bob Gorrell
Congress in their infinite wisdom banned offshore drilling 27 years ago. That legislation is due to expire this year providing that the Do-Nothing 110th Congress doesn’t do anything to reinstitute that failed policy.
The US House of Representatives has passed what they are [...]
