Will Annual ‘Teacher Bailout’ Be The Next Federal Entitlement?

According to a well-known Chinese proverb, “Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.” The Federal government has so usurped the sovereignty of the various states that they have become dependent upon mother government for their very existence. This is the reason why the United States House of Representatives found itself in session today. That and to give Charlie Rangel an opportunity to whine on the House floor about his persecution at the hands of the Ethics Committee.

The White House and Congressional Democrats were all in a tither about getting a $26 Billion state aid packaged passed that Nancy Pelosi felt compelled to call the House back into session during the August recess. The emergency? To get the legislation passed before the school year begins. Why? So those reliable Democrat votes (teachers) don’t lose their jobs.

Is this going to be an annual event? I mean, is this setting the standard for years to come? Will the House and Senate be recalled from their “much needed” summer recess in order to pass “emergency” legislation so that teachers don’t lose their jobs every August from now until the fall of the Republic? 47 of the 50 states are running budget deficits thanks to mismanagement at the state level and federal intrusion. Unfunded mandates from the federal government and federal aid has made the states dependent upon the feds for funding of all aspects of governance. This is NOT how this nation is supposed to work. If anything, it should be reversed. At least that was the intention of the founders.

Education has become the latest dependency class. Soon to follow will be police and fire departments. Although, the aid package passed this afternoon by the House is a general aid package for states that includes funding for police and fire.

Glenn Beck warned several weeks ago that soon we will have a national police force. He went on to say that it won’t be named as such but follow the money trail.

If the Cleveland Police Department accepts federal funding you should fell safe to bet the farm that the feds will have a dominant say in how the CPD conducts its business. The same can be said of the fire departments AND – Teachers.

Conservative pundits – myself included – understand that this is nothing more than another veiled payoff to a major labor union. Employed teachers equal votes for the Democrat majority. Verbose urging from the Emperor increases his popularity among his base, but only his base.

What isn’t widely known about this bill is that it steals money from another federal program in order for it to be paid for. Beginning in 2014, the federal food stamp program will have a reduction in its planned annual increase in order to keep under-performing and junior teachers in their positions for the 2010-2011 school year. When 2014 rolls around, Progressives around the country will be screaming for additional funding for the food stamp program because this bill gutted the planning increase in funding.

What I find interesting is the choice of which federal spending program to raid in order to keep these under-performing and junior liberal teachers working. The food stamp program. A recent report showed that a record number of Americans are receiving benefits from that very program. Approximately 40.5 million to be exact.

What also hasn’t been discussed in public is the fact that funding for these teachers is already in place. Nearly half of the American Robbery and Redistribution Act funds have yet to be spent. It included funding for teachers, police, and fire but yet the Congress of the United States (House and Senate) with urging from the President, thought that new legislation with an additional funding source needed to be passed now – urgently – before the beginning of the school year so that more liberals turn out to the polls on November 2nd to vote for Democrats. There is no other explanation.

Why use existing funding when they can seem to be taking action by passing new legislation. As I said in another post, it’s a shell game.

I predict that next year there will be a push from the White House to bailout the states again. The cries will be that our school children need these teachers in class when in reality Obama needs their votes.

UK Announces Plans To Decentralize Health Care System

Is The Emperor Listening?

Now that The Emperor has used a recess appointment to get his Health Care Czar, you know – the one that likes the UK’s health system, I wonder what is going through his mind as he reads that the UK is making plans to decentralize their system. According to several sources, the UK’s new Coalition government is in the process of making plans which they say will save an estimated $30 Billion a year in “efficiency savings” and reduce administrative costs by 45% by 2014. How do they plan on doing this? Decentralizing the National Health Care System and putting local General Practitioners in charge.

Practical details of the plan are still sketchy. But its aim is clear: to shift control of England’s $160 billion annual health budget from a centralized bureaucracy to doctors at the local level. Under the plan, $100 billion to $125 billion a year would be meted out to general practitioners, who would use the money to buy services from hospitals and other health care providers.

The plan would also shrink the bureaucratic apparatus, in keeping with the government’s goal to effect $30 billion in “efficiency savings” in the health budget by 2014 and to reduce administrative costs by 45 percent. Tens of thousands of jobs would be lost because layers of bureaucracy would be abolished.

Yet another example of Europe moving to the right as Obama forces America to the left.

Leftist policies Do Not Work but the Moron in Chief is so stuck in a 1960′s neo-Socialist mentality that he is incapable of making the necessary adjustments as Europe seems to be willing to make. The Euro-Socialism that American leftists wish to emulate is in decline at a time when they are finally in a position to implement the failed policies which are drawing out the global economic crisis.

The window is shifting America and we are all about to get caught as the sash comes crashing down. The way it generally works is the left demands outrageous leaps to the left which can’t get passed because the right blocks them. So they compromise and take a slight movement to the left instead. But since the beginning to this Infestation, aided by the leftist majorities in both houses of Congress, those giant leaps have been made in spite of the will of the American people. Poll after poll shows the public’s resistance to the measures put forward by this President and this Congress but they get their entire wish list anyway.

They have abandoned their gentle nudging in favor of massive shoving and so far it’s worked because nothing could be done to stop them. However, November 4th is quickly approaching and many Democrats are going to be facing forced retirement because of the neo-Socialists’ [read also: Barry Obama, SanFran Nan, Dingy Harry et. al.] aggressive agenda. The major worry for Conservative AND Independent America is what the lame-duck Congress will attempt.

Tax Increases under the guise of balancing a budget that has yet to be passed and couldn’t be balanced if they did pass one. And no, you won’t be exempted because you earn less than $250k a year. They want to soak everybody.

My question is now and will also be in November and December, are the Republicans willing to put up enough of an opposition to stop it. It will take Every Single Republican to reject this. In the House, it will take some Democrats who are unwilling to play the role of a petulant child.

The American people have been speaking LOUDLY and the Democrat Congress has had their hearing aids turned off. They erroneously stand by the notion that what they have done was what the people wanted. If there were ever a reason to never put Democrats in a position of power – this President and this Congress is that reason.

So to answer my initial question…

NO, he isn’t listening. He’s the Obamassiah. He knows all and sees all. His is the only vision for the future. Too bad it leads to conditions similar to those experienced by Detective Thorn in ‘Soylent Green‘ or Winston Smith in ‘1984‘.

As I keep saying…

You cannot legislate Universal Prosperity; but you can legislate Universal Poverty.
You cannot legislate Universal Health; but you can legislate Universal Sickness.
You cannot legislate Universal Happiness; but you can legislate Universal Despair.

It is my belief that the left knows and understands these three simple truths and that is why they deliberately leading this nation into a condition of Universal Poverty, Sickness, and Despair.

Cartoonist – Mike Lester

Remember that we are talking about the guy who said, “under my plan of cap and trade, electricity prices will necessarily skyrocket” (:35 seconds into the video below). Seems to this blogger that Mike Lester’s cartoon is extremely accurate. If you watch the video, Obama mentions the fact that prices for oil, natural gas, and other means of heating your home will be going up as well.

This from the guy who has the Oval Office so hot, his advisers have to attend meetings in shirt sleeves.

The capital flew into a bit of a tizzy when, on his first full day in the White House, President Obama was photographed in the Oval Office without his suit jacket. There was, however, a logical explanation: Mr. Obama, who hates the cold, had cranked up the thermostat.

“He’s from Hawaii, O.K.?” said Mr. Obama’s senior adviser, David Axelrod, who occupies the small but strategically located office next door to his boss. “He likes it warm. You could grow orchids in there.”

Ok… I’ll concede that Obama is from Hawaii originally but he lived in Chicago for how many years?!? I’m sorry Mr. Axelrod, that dog don’t hunt.

Truth be told, Obama is another typical Lear Jet Liberal who preaches to the masses about how our activity is impacting the planet and also has the audacity to tell us to alter our ways without any intention of altering his. He’s a hypocrite. Especially when you begin to notice the rapid decline in atmospheric temperatures. Someone is whitewashing someone. Question: Are you noticing that it’s you?

And as an aside – who cares how much it costs for the Emperor to have the Oval Office so hot that he can grow orchids anyway. He’s not paying the bill. The taxpayers are.

Economic Recovery Or Economic Ruin? What Is He Up To?

A few days ago I mentioned a plan for the economy laid out in the 1960′s which is finally coming to fruition now. It is called the Cloward-Piven Strategy for Socialist Revolution. In order to truly understand Barack Obama, you must first fully understand his influences.

Obama studied the Cloward-Piven Strategy and fully believes in it. He also studied, and even taught, Saul Alinsky’s Rules for Radicals which he also fully believes in. Obama is the marriage of both the Cloward-Piven Strategy and Saul Alinsky’s Rules. Everything that he has attempted to do since January 20, 2009 is in fully accordance with both.

But what are they? Good question.

Inspired by the August 1965 riots in the black district of Watts in Los Angeles (which erupted after police had used batons to subdue a black man suspected of drunk driving), Cloward and Piven published an article titled “The Weight of the Poor: A Strategy to End Poverty” in the May 2, 1966 issue of The Nation. Following its publication, The Nation sold an unprecedented 30,000 reprints. Activists were abuzz over the so-called “crisis strategy” or “Cloward-Piven Strategy,” as it came to be called. Many were eager to put it into effect.

In their 1966 article, Cloward and Piven charged that the ruling classes used welfare to weaken the poor; that by providing a social safety net, the rich doused the fires of rebellion. Poor people can advance only when “the rest of society is afraid of them,” Cloward told The New York Times on September 27, 1970. Rather than placating the poor with government hand-outs, wrote Cloward and Piven, activists should work to sabotage and destroy the welfare system; the collapse of the welfare state would ignite a political and financial crisis that would rock the nation; poor people would rise in revolt; only then would “the rest of society” accept their demands.

The key to sparking this rebellion would be to expose the inadequacy of the welfare state. Cloward-Piven’s early promoters cited radical organizer Saul Alinsky as their inspiration. “Make the enemy live up to their (sic) own book of rules,” Alinsky wrote in his 1972 book Rules for Radicals. When pressed to honor every word of every law and statute, every Judaeo-Christian moral tenet, and every implicit promise of the liberal social contract, human agencies inevitably fall short. The system’s failure to “live up” to its rule book can then be used to discredit it altogether, and to replace the capitalist “rule book” with a socialist one.

The authors noted that the number of Americans subsisting on welfare — about 8 million, at the time — probably represented less than half the number who were technically eligible for full benefits. They proposed a “massive drive to recruit the poor onto the welfare rolls.” Cloward and Piven calculated that persuading even a fraction of potential welfare recipients to demand their entitlements would bankrupt the system. The result, they predicted, would be “a profound financial and political crisis” that would unleash “powerful forces … for major economic reform at the national level.”

Their article called for “cadres of aggressive organizers” to use “demonstrations to create a climate of militancy.” Intimidated by threats of black violence, politicians would appeal to the federal government for help. Carefully orchestrated media campaigns, carried out by friendly, leftwing journalists, would float the idea of “a federal program of income redistribution,” in the form of a guaranteed living income for all — working and non-working people alike. Local officials would clutch at this idea like drowning men to a lifeline. They would apply pressure on Washington to implement it. With every major city erupting into chaos, Washington would have to act.

This was an example of what are commonly called Trojan Horse movements — mass movements whose outward purpose seems to be providing material help to the downtrodden, but whose real objective is to draft poor people into service as revolutionary foot soldiers; to mobilize poor people en masse to overwhelm government agencies with a flood of demands beyond the capacity of those agencies to meet. The flood of demands was calculated to break the budget, jam the bureaucratic gears into gridlock, and bring the system crashing down. Fear, turmoil, violence and economic collapse would accompany such a breakdown — providing perfect conditions for fostering radical change. That was the theory.

Ask yourself, “what is happening right now? What if any of this is the Emperor attempting to do?” The truth is, all of it.

I want you to think back all the way to January 20, 2009. I know that is a stretch for some of you. Especially those linking here from DRONE sites. But try.

The national debt on the day that Barry took over was sitting at $10.6 Trillion. A shocking sum to say the least. However, now take a look at the national debt today. In just one year, Barack Obama, with the help of Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid, raised the national debt from $10.6 Trillion to $12.3 Trillion. To put this into context, when George W. Bush took office on January 20, 2001 the national debt was at $5.7 Trillion. Over 8 years in office the national debt increased $4.9 Trillion. In case you are keeping score that is an average of $600 Billion per year.

Barack Obama has raised the national debt $1.7 Trillion in just one year. The Senate is looking to raise the debt ceiling another $1.9 Trillion which the White House is projecting will last the government until June 2011. If that actually lasts out the year they’ll be lucky.

At the rate that Barry and this Congress is spending money, by the time Obama leaves office, if left unchecked, the national debt will be $17.8 Trillion in just 4 years. Bush added $4.9 Trillion over 8 years. Obama is projected to add $7.2 Trillion in half that time.

So what is he spending money on? Political payoffs and expanding the welfare class.

His agenda is destroying the ability for the private sector to conduct business. It is leading to massive unemployment levels which chases many from the middle class onto the government dole. Seems that he is attempting to collapse the economic system a la Cloward-Piven through expansion of the Nanny State.

Every time he proposes something to bring about economic recovery, he is actually proposing measures that would have the opposite effect. Ask yourself, what sense does it make to raise taxes during a recession? The short answer is – it doesn’t. But he is hell bent on allowing the Bush tax cuts which have kept this country from plummeting into a full blow depression to expire. In that one non-action, Obama, Pelosi, and Reid will be eliminating the 10% tax bracket effectively giving those at the bottom of the income ladder a 50% increase in their taxes. If he is willing to do that to the lowest of income earners, what then is he willing to do to those above the current 10% bracket?

From top to bottom, allowing the Bush tax cuts to expire will have dire consequences for this country economically. Why? Cloward-Piven.

Saul Alinsky said the ends justify the means. If his means are this dastardly, what then are the ends toward which he is directing his means? Full blown Socialism.

“Economic recovery or economic ruin? What is he up to?” Economic ruin. No doubt about it.

Is The Obama Infestation Destroying Our Economy On Purpose?

Pointing out the continuous failures of the Obama Infestation and their compatriots in the US House and Senate is becoming monotonous; however, if I and others like me fail to beat the drum, the Apathetic among us will continue to believe the tripe being championed by the White House and Congress.

Those running the show in Washington want you to believe the government is the answer to all that is wrong in our nation, when in fact Washington is the cause of everything that is wrong in America. In true American apathetic short-sightedness, Americans, in general, cannot think beyond the current headlines to find the root causes of our problems. Our current economic crisis was sparked by the housing market and the sub-prime mortgage fiasco. This we all know from the news. What isn’t reported is the true cause of the sub-prime mortgage problem: the federal government.

During the Carter years, the Democrat controlled Congress passed a piece of legislation which the economically challenged Jimmy Carter signed into law called The Community Reinvestment Act. Later during the Clintonian Infestation, community organizing groups like ACORN strong armed banks into making loans to high risk borrowers under enforcement of The Community Reinvestment Act and housing saw a dramatic increase. Sales were up, home prices and values shot up and everyone who could began to flip houses for profit. Everyone was having a ball. Until….the bubble burst.

The Community Reinvestment Act created the sub-prime mortgage situation. Lenders were lending money to home buyers at low adjustable rates which, over time, would dramatically increase. Lenders, under the impression the federal government would be backing these loans, were forced to make these loans under threat of The Community Reinvestment Act. How was this perceived? Fannie and Freddie.

Lenders and the general public had this idea that Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac were entities of the federal government when, in fact, they are not. They are federally financed, but they are private companies. Like the current take over of General Motors, Fannie and Freddie derive any short-falls from the US Treasury. Enter the problem. People got to a place where they could no longer pay their mortgages. Energy prices skyrocketed as oil was reaching an all-time high. People were faced with a choice between feeding their children or paying the bank for their house. When Countrywide bottomed out because of the rapid increase of mortgage default, lending in general took a nose dive. Credit was no longer available to anyone.

The US economy is credit driven. Our national debt is financed by credit. We (not all but most) live our lives on credit. So when credit dries up, so does the economy.

Liberals dreamed up The Community Reinvestment Act. Liberals passed it and a liberal signed it. Now they want you to believe that someone other than themselves are to blame for the bad economy created by the legislation. They also want you to believe the way to fix it is by spending money the nation does not have.

A baby born today is already nearly $4,000 in debt. That is the amount of the national debt this newborn baby is personally responsible for. What is the Infestation’s solution? “Let’s give the new little one a $500 bond.” Have you ever heard such nonsense in your life?!?

Ok, here’s a solution for the bad economy. Let’s curb unemployment by spending more money we don’t have to repair America’s crumbling infrastructure. Sounds cool right? Until you realize that since it is federal tax dollars being spent on the projects, all the work preformed must be done either by union employees OR non-union employees paid union wages and provided with union benefits. Many non-union contractors are being excluded on bidding on infrastructure projects because they cannot pay those wages or provide those benefits. Not to mention another little fact the Infestation failed to tell America. Eventually the projects end. The roads and bridges will eventually all be built so these are NOT permanent jobs being created. They are just band-aid style stop-gap measures taken in hopes of improving the political position of the party in power. Nothing more.

Moodys yesterday warned that if the US doesn’t end the out-of-control spending spree it is on, it will lose it’s AAA rating. This might not mean anything to any of you until you realize that if our nation’s credit rating – the Moodys rating – is downgraded, the value of our currency is going to tank. Then, all bets are off. Your house and business will be worthless. Interest rates will be unaffordable and the dollar will have the value of toilet paper.

These facts bring up an interesting question. Is the Infestation doing all of this in order to purposefully destroy the US dollar?

Barack Hussein Obama is one of these New World Order types who sees the Useless Nations as a potential World Governmental body. One world under the UN with one currency that we all use. Key to this is removal of the current dominating currency – the US dollar. He can only do this if you allow him to. He needs you to not be looking at what he’s doing so you don’t know it’s happening. By not paying attention, you are giving this Infestation the tools it needs to rob our nation blind and sell us out to governing body which is jealous of our success and standard of living.

Why does the world hate the US? Not US arrogance as the President and his Party believe. No. The world is jealous of our affluence.

I’ve said this before and it bears repeating.

You cannot legislate universal prosperity, but you can legislate universal poverty.
You cannot legislate universal health, but you can legislate universal sickness.
You cannot legislate universal happiness, but you can legislate universal despair.

The current leadership in Congress and this President are attempting to legislate universal poverty through tax increases and environmental legislation which will do nothing but inefficiently redistribute wealth. They are attempting to legislate universal sickness though health care reform that has no chance of increasing the health of the nation. And they are attempting to legislate universal despair with every action they take and every word they speak. They do so with a very compliant media.

In a rare defense of the media, I must give them some praise today. Yesterday the White House attempted to deal the 1st Amendment a blow by wanting to exclude FoxNews in a series of interviews with the White House Pay Czar. The other White House press pool members sided with Fox in telling the White House that if FoxNews was not included, they would not be participating either. For this, I must say the press is finally showing signs of integrity.

America’s Schizophrenia Over “UnInsured” Numbers

Throughout this ~~health~~ death care debate, we have listened to the left make claims as to the numbers of people in the United States who live without health care coverage. But the number is constantly changing. First it was 47 million, then 30, then 48, then 50, then 46 and so on…

This kind of reminds me of a movie character. In the 1962 version (the better version by-the-way) of ‘The Manchurian Candidate‘ there is a character named Sen. John Yerkes Iselin, who happens to be the bumbling shill husband of Raymond Shaw’s mother (a closet Communist operative). Iselin can’t seem to remember the number of “card carrying Communists who are in the Defense Department“. The idiot says various numbers until an argument with his wife produces an easy to remember final number – 57. After the “57 Varieties” on a Heinz ketchup label.

Could this be how the Infestation is arriving at it’s schizophrenic numbers? Could they be seeing these often changing numbers on ketchup bottles? Or is it beer bottles? After-all the Emperor likes having beer summits.

When faced with the death care plan being outed for covering illegal aliens, the White House had to change their first “official” number from 47 million to 30 million in order to remove the estimated, number of illegal aliens present in the United States. This was so that the Emperor could avoid the charge of liar that has been raised since Rep. Joe Wilson so accurately let loose, “You Lie” during the Emperor’s attempt to brow-beat members of both houses of Congress in a joint session.

The fact of the matter is excluding illegal aliens, those who could afford to buy insurance if they chose to buy it, and those who would qualify for existing government subsidized health coverage, the real number of uninsured is more along the lines of 7 – 12 million. A number by the way that is on the rise due to the President’s lack of an economic policy.

For these estimated 7 – 12 million uninsured, The President, the Liberal controlled Congress, and the very compliant media want the American taxpayers to throw more than $1 trillion at the problem. But hey, that’s how we solved problems in the liberal mind. We redistribute the nation’s wealth and use the redistributed money to “solve” problems that may or may not exist.

In the first 9 months of the Obama Infestation, this President has doubled the amount of debt owed by this nation over its 233 year history. Official unemployment numbers are approaching 10% while the actual number of unemployed/under-employed in this nation is actually over 16%. The Obama Infestation’s budget shortfall for the current fiscal year (which just began incidentally) is in excess of $1 trillion. But instead of taking steps to correct the budget shortfalls and creating conditions whereby more Americans can find work, Barack Hussein Obama is flying about the world making apologies for a myriad of “sins” that he believes this nation has made, and pitching Chicago for the site of the 2016 Summer Olympic Games. A failed pitch I am happy to report. And just announced today, he has been awarded a Nobel Peace Prize. For what? No one seems to know – including many liberals! But now he is going to have to fly back to his beloved Europia in order to claim his “dishonor”.

This guy spends more time on Air Force One than he does in Washington. But I digress…

With nearly 40% of his cabinet posts unfilled, the Emperor has found over 60 radicals to serve as “special advisers to the ~~Emperor~~ President (aka: Czars), some of which formally worked for SEIU, the Tides Foundation, ACORN, and the Apollo Alliance, among others. He’s found time to parade out 150 “doctors” as a show of support for his Death Care Plan. I say “doctors” because I’m not quite sure if all 150 of them were Medical Doctors. I suspect some have PhD’s in Art History, Sociology, and Korean Underwater Basket Weaving for all we know. The event was so staged that the White House handed out the lab coats worn by the “doctors” in the photo op.

He can find time to do all of the above, but he cannot find time to eliminate the waste and abuse in the ~~government~~ Congress that is elevating the budget deficit and ultimately, the national debt. Nor can he find time to better the business environment in this nation. A better business environment brings about more jobs. Many of these jobs would be taken by those “uninsured” we hear about so much.

News flash – Mr. President, if the uninsured get jobs then they will become insured.

Mr. President – are you paying attention. This is of course a teaching moment. Should we open some beer?

Our President is a petulant child. He has gotten himself elected to a position that he has no idea how to hold. He claims to be a leader when all he does is speak and appease the enemies of this nation. America is tired of the false claims, shaky numbers, and bad fiscal policy. THE OBAMA INFESTATION LOVES WELFARE ENSLAVEMENT…

… SO MUCH SO THAT THEY NOT ONLY WANT TO SPEND MORE TO FUND IT, THEY WANT TO ADD MORE PEOPLE TO ITS RANKS

The single most significant piece of legislation passed during the Clintonian Infestation was Welfare Reform also known as The 1996 Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Reconciliation Act. The bill required those receiving welfare benefits to either enter a work study program to learn a trade or attend school with the goal of removing as many people from the government dole as possible. The Obama Infestation has effectively removed those requirements.

Little known provisions embedded in the Porkulus package passed without being read by ANYONE on Capital Hill have in effect removed all the provisions of The 1996 Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Reconciliation Act.

Investors Business Daily reports…

Self-identified neo-liberal Mickey Kaus, writing in Slate, called the “insufficiently publicized” and “deeply troubling” provision in the legislation a “liberal conspiracy to expand the welfare rolls.”

“If only for political purposes, I figured, Dems would have to wait a few months or years before sabotaging Bill Clinton’s major domestic achievement,” wrote Kaus. “It took them two weeks.”

The IBD report outlines many aspects of the ~~liberals~~ “progressives” war on poverty. None more shocking than the amounts of taxpayers money has been spent on this exercise in futility.

The country has spent $15.9 trillion of other people’s money on welfare since the mid-1960s. But it has failed. As noted in the Gospel of Matthew, we will always have the poor.

“Welfare spending was 13 times greater in fiscal 2008, after adjusting for inflation, than it was when the war on poverty started in 1964,” says a new study from the Heritage Foundation.

“Means-tested welfare spending was 1.2% of the gross domestic product when President Johnson began the war on poverty. In 2008, it reached 5% of GDP.”

In the many wars that have been waged by this government in our 233 history, the war on poverty seems to be the one war that has accomplished the least. As the government continues to spend other people’s money to combat poverty, the worse the problem seems to become.

Universal prosperity cannot be legislated. But legislation can bring about universal poverty.
Universal happiness cannot be legislated. But legislation can bring about universal misery.
Universal good health cannot be legislated. But legislation can bring about universal sickness and death.

Heaven forbid you become a member of the ranks of those who must rely on the government “helping hand” because it will mean virtual enslavement. Especially if ANYONE in your family requires Medicaid to manage a serious medical condition. Once you are in the system, you are tied to the system or your loved one requiring medical attention could be cut-off. Attempt to reenter the work force, no health care even though you won’t qualify for medical insurance for a period of 3 months to a year from your hire date. Not to mention the restrictions on pre-existing conditions.

The worse off are those who have lived a certain lifestyle for the bulk of their lives and have found themselves entirely without resources in middle age. Too young for Social Security, not injured so disability is out of the question, and their unemployment insurance benefits have expired. Now it is off to social services for that “helping hand up” as so many on the left praise it to be.

Now comes the restrictions. Do you own life insurance? Turn it in. Do you own your home? Sell it. Do you own a cemetery plot? Sell it. Do you own any stocks or bonds? Sell them. Do you own any real estate? Sell it.

Here’s the lulu of it all. If you are a woman and you are pregnant, if you are married you will NOT qualify for cash assistance. However, if you are not married, even if you live with the baby’s father, YOU WILL qualify for cash assistance. I don’t know about you, but something seems a bit WRONG about that.

Back to the IBD report…

Apparently, we just haven’t spent enough. At least that seems to be the position of the White House. It has opened the spigot of the fastest-growing government expenditure. Over the first two years of this administration, annual federal welfare spending will jump by a third, from $522 billion to $697 billion, says the Heritage study titled “Obama To Spend $10.3 Trillion On Welfare.”

The cost to the families funding the programs is enormous. Heritage says each household is paying $560 a month this year and will pay $638 a month in 2010.

But this administration is just getting started. Over the next decade (which includes the current fiscal year), welfare spending will hit that $10.3 trillion mark — $7.5 trillion in taxpayers’ money disbursed by Washington, $2.8 trillion in taxpayers’ money handed out by the states. None of this even includes what the federal government will spend if it successfully takes over health care.

With the Obama Infestation’s deliberate assault on the private sector, it is evident that they wish more people to be dependent upon the government for their every need. This is precisely why the government non-”option” is so near and dear to the ~~liberal~~ progressive heart during the discussions about health care reform. They need a public non-”option” to further enslave you to the government who will eventually tell you where you can live, where you work, how much you are compensated, what products your are able to buy, and how you will spend your non-working hours.

One thing that I can assure you, if given everything they want, ~~liberals~~ progressives will not allow you to criticize the government during those non-working hours. They are already trying to discredit those who speak out against their massive power grab. Charges of racism are only scratching the surface.

And for the record. Anyone throwing around the racism terminology whether they be a former President or not are proving that they cannot argue their position any longer. The well has run dry my friends. Once they are permitted to charge those who disagree with this President and his minions for what they are doing to destroy this nation with charges of racism, this republic has officially ended.

Fox News Commentator Glenn Beck has it right. We need to quarantine D.C. Nothing in (taxes) and nothing out. The most beneficial thing that Congress can do is to go on recess. Because if they are not in Washington, they cannot harm us. And that goes for the Emperor as well.

So send them all on a paid vacation. Because it will be cheaper on the American people in the long run.

Three Undeniable Truths About Obama’s “Universal” Plans

As I was watching Fox News Channel’s coverage of the 9*12 project, a few thoughts crept into my head. They stem from something that I’ve been apt to say (and write) on several occasions. They are 3 undeniable facts about the Obama idea of “universals”.

They are…

Universal prosperity cannot be legislated. But legislation can bring about universal poverty.
Universal happiness cannot be legislated. But legislation can bring about universal misery.
Universal good health cannot be legislated. But legislation can bring about universal sickness and death.

All these things being true, why then does the current leadership in Washington insist on using legislation as a tool with the goal of artificially bring about prosperity, happiness, and good health? Futility is the playground of leftist fools. This also being true, who is the bigger fool? The fool or the fool who follows him?

Being a follower of universal futility makes you part of the problem rather than being part of the solution. The pie in the sky dream of a legislated Utopia is a fantasy that cannot be obtained. But yet, millions of people voted in the last election believing that Barack Hussein Obama was the Pied Piper of Utopian dreams. From his plummeting poll numbers, it seems that some of those dreams have turned into nightmares or night terrors.

Glenn Beck is calling on elected Republicans, Democrats, and Independents to weed out corruption within their own ranks. He is asking Republicans and Democrats to look for corruption from within their respective parties and bring it to the forefront. Shine the light of truth upon it for the nation to see. Identify those who are corrupt and let those individuals face their constituents on election day.

He’s looking for 56 brave elected officials who are willing to cast aside any loyalties to special interests, admit their shortcomings, and announce that they are no longer going to play the Washington game. He wants 56 elected officials who are willing to lead the nation to a return to the principles upon which this nation was founded. Return the nation to the principles of the Constitution.

I believe Ohio has at least 1 such person. I’m calling on Rep. Jim Jordan (R OH-4) to be one of the 56. I believe Congressman Jordan to be an honest man who stands for Conservative principles and the Constitution. Congressman Jordan has the ability to be one of those 56. A leader around whom all Ohioans can rally and take back our nation.

I also believe that Senatorial candidate Rob Portman has the potential to be another. If he can truly get behind the effort to rid the GOP of corruption, he can not only win the Senate seat being vacated by Ohio’s RINO extraordinaire – George Voinovich – but rise to a position of leadership in the upper house of Congress and the Party.

For that matter, I’ve heard of many Congressional Democrats who, because of their membership in that caucus, are being held by the throat and threatened with abandonment by the ~~Socialist Party~~ Democrat Party should they turn their back of Party leadership who is beholden to the most corrupt special interests in this country. We need for them to stand up for America without fear. We need to assure them that if they stand up to the special interests they have the support of their constituents and do not need the Party thugs and the Party’s money. It is possible for a Democrat to receive more Republican votes than Democrat votes and win an election. Just ask Joe Lieberman.

So I’m asking registered Republicans to think outside the box. If you are represented by a Democrat who has the intestinal fortitude to stand up to the special interests, really stand up not just lip service, support them. If they truly represent you, you need to support them regardless if they have a D or an R next to their name. You may make a powerful ally against Socialist ‘Change’.

And finally I’m asking you, the reader, to resist the temptation to fall for the idea that “universal” this or that is possible through legislation. Because it is not.

Don’t be a fool be a realist. Ground yourself in reality. Recognize Utopian pipe dreaming when it presents itself. And recognize the destruction of our nation when it proposed and prevent it from happening.

~~Liberals~~ Progressives have been waging a war on poverty since the mid-1960′s. They’ve done it through legislation which only widened the problem, enslaved minorities, and created an entitlement trap from which it is nearly impossible to escape. Now they want to expand it even further. Will you assist them or resist them?

SanFran Nan And Harry ‘The Sleeping Pill’: “We’ve Got The Votes” – But Do They? [UPDATED]

The Wicked Witch of the West and her Senatorial puppy – Harry ‘the Sleeping Pill’ Reid paid a visit to the President on Tuesday and boldly misinformed him that they have the needed votes to pass the Death Care reform package WITH the government non-”option”. SORRY – TRY AGAIN.

Pelosi needs the government non-”option” to satisfy her base on the left coast, however, to the Blue Dogs of Middle-America the government non-”option” will be a political albatross come November 2, 2010 whether it passes or not should they vote for any bill containing it. Pelosi needs the KOSsack Kool-Aid kids because without them she has no constituency.

Reid on the other hand is likely to not be re-elected anyway so he has nothing to lose. That said however, Dingy Harry (to borrow a Rushism) has a problem that cannot be solved by placating SanFran Nan and her ultra leftist trumpet blowers from the Daily POS – the so-called gang of 6.

Pelosi is forever wedded to the government non-”option”. Without it – she fails. Her base will turn on her faster than an abused pitbull should the House scrap H.R. 3200 in favor of anything lacking a government controlled heath care system. The KOSsacks want a single payer system in the model of Canada or the UK. You know, those failed experiments in universal health care that are only championed by people who would never have suffer at the hands of similar systems.

Universal coverage is NOT universal care. No matter how the President and his lackeys would like the meanings to be synonymous – they are not. Nor will they ever be.

The Drudge Report has several headlines linking stories suggesting that the White House is entertaining the possibility of a soda tax and the gang of 6 is discussing the scrapping of the government non-”option” in favor of regional co-ops which are a veiled government non-”option”.

Dr. Thomas Sowell had an article out yesterday which discussed the lies contained in the rush to get this scheme passed. He asks a very interesting question for which no one on the left has anything resembling an intelligent answer for.

“If the urgency to pass the medical care legislation was to deal with a problem immediately, then why postpone the date when the legislation goes into effect for years– more specifically, until the year after the next Presidential election?”

The answer of course is so that Obamaramadingdong won’t have to deal with the negative backlash of the electorate after it takes effect. By then, in Obama’s mind anyway, he’ll be in his second and final term as elected Emperor and he would have implemented all of his agenda using a compliant Congress and a fully volunteer propaganda machine to sell his plans to the American people. What His Imperial Majesty wasn’t counting on was the American public’s sudden interest in the details and the questions raised by the Infestation’s desire to hide those details from the public. Questions such as…

How much is this going to cost?
How will it be paid for?
How much will this add to the deficit?
How much will this raise the national debt?
Will I be able to keep my current plan?
Will I be able to keep my doctor?
Will I be able to downgrade my current coverage?
What happens if I change jobs?

Among many, many others.

The hoopla over “death panels” was misunderstood and mischaracterized by the MSM. The concern wasn’t over “end of life counseling”, although that is a rather distasteful idea in itself, but rather the abandonment of health care should it be deemed that treatment isn’t cost-effective based upon some arbitrary “quality of life” standards. The inevitable creation of a rationing body to make such decisions is the “death panel” that is feared. With any government run, government paid, health care system, there is rationing. It is essential to holding costs down. Especially since the powers that be have ruled out tort reform as a method of controlling costs.

Under the Dem plan you will be required to have insurance coverage. If you go without, they are going to fine you into the poorhouse that is – if you aren’t there already from the rest of his taxes.

Life as we’ve known it to this point has ended. The Fascist Liberals of this nation have taken over and it does not matter what you want for yourselves or this country, they are going to get what they want. It doesn’t even matter to them that their attempt to implement their pet projects will get them tossed out of power. It is full speed ahead while they have the power so they can get the proverbial foot in the door. Once they get their agenda passed it will be next to impossible to eliminate it. Just think about how many New Deal projects that we are STILL dealing with.

There is a reason why the Death Care package doesn’t begin until 2013 and it is YOUR responsibility to understand why. They aren’t going to tell you why. You have to be able to put 2 and 2 together. They want the answer to be 5. What answer will you come up with?

After Emperor Barry I had his sham joint session of Congress this evening, and in spite of all the praise from the left side of the aisle, he is short of the votes necessary to pass this massive intrusion into the lives of every American citizen.

At least 44 more moderate Members of the Democrat Caucus have gone on the record in opposition to the current health care bill in the House, a Hill source claims. Likewise, at least 57 liberal Members of the Democrat Caucus have gone on the record saying they will vote against a health care bill without a strong public option.

Unless multiple Democrats flip on their stated position on health care, Speaker Pelosi lacks the votes to pass a bill through the House on the strength of Democrat votes alone.

Drudge goes on to list the moderate members who oppose the government non-”option”. He also lists those who have committed to not voting for any bill that doesn’t contain the massive take-over of health care.

Obama faces even more opposition in the Senate where, the gang of 6 warned before His Imperial Majesty’s speech that a government non-”option” won’t fly in the Senate. The votes simply do – not – exist in spite of what the Wicked Witch of the West and the Sleeping Pill told the Emperor in his private study (aka the Oval Office).

Don’t get me wrong campers, this is not a time to celebrate. If by some miracle the government non-”option” passes the House and a co-op plan passes the Senate, we all know the House version will survive conference. This needs to die a bloody and painful death like Hillarycare did in ’93.
