Boehner Responds to Obama’s Ohio Libtard Pep-Talk

The Emperor was in the neighborhood today to speak to his supporters in Elyria, a suburb of Cleveland, Ohio. Obama appeared before a carefully screened audience of supporters in the very Democratic district in Lorain County.

In response to the Emperor’s appearance, House Minority Leader John Boehner (R OH-8) had a few choice words…

“When he last visited Elyria, candidate Obama promised that as President he would enact a ‘job creation agenda.’ Yet for the past year, Ohioans have watched anxiously as Washington Democrats’, with the approval of President Obama, have pushed a job-killing agenda that includes a ‘stimulus’ that isn’t working, a government takeover of health care that will raise taxes, increase premiums and cut Medicare for seniors, and a ‘cap and trade’
national energy tax that will devastate Ohio’s economy and kill jobs at a time we can least afford it.

“Ohio’s unemployment report released this morning marks nine straight months of double-digit unemployment in our state. Tens-of-thousands have lost their jobs since the ‘stimulus’ was enacted. Ohioans fed up with Washington Democrats’ job-killing agenda are asking ‘where are the jobs?’

“A jobless recovery is a far cry from what Ohio’s hard-working families were promised. In Elyria today, Ohioans will be looking for the president to signal he will scrap the job-killing policies that are freezing employers large and small from hiring, and work with Republicans on a true job creation agenda built on common-sense solutions to help small businesses create jobs and put Americans back to work.”

Today the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services released December’s unemployment numbers for our state. Ohio’s unemployment rate jumped from 10.6% in November to 10.9% in December.

The Obama Infestation continues to tout his phantom job creation, none of those jobs apparently are in the Buckeye state. During the same period, the national unemployment rate has fallen from 10.5% in October to 10.3% in November and finally 10.0% in December. That is according to the Obama Infestation which has a vested interest in releasing numbers that looks good for the increasingly unpopular Emperor.

Obama came face to face with reality on Tuesday when the voters of Massachusetts rebuked the Obama plan by elected a Republican to a seat that Ted Kennedy held for 47 years. A seat previously occupied by Kennedy’s brother Bobby and before that his brother John. How can it be that this moron saw this as a sign to redouble his efforts to shove through his very unpopular Death Care bill?

Obama told George Stephanopoulos in an interview this week…

“We lost a sense – of – ah… speaking to the American people about what their core values are.”

Look at the wording… He actually said “… speaking TO” not speaking with. To me that spoke volumes about what his true goal is. His goal is to control all of us.

Any sane person looking at that quote would come to the same conclusion. He said that he didn’t speak TO us enough to define for us what our “core values” are supposed to be as defined by him. You’d have to be blind not to see the meaning in his own words.

If he had said “… speaking with” that would imply a discussion. But he didn’t. He said, “… speaking to”.

Later, I will be releasing a post identifying Obama’s destruction of the US economy. He cannot continue to blame our problems on his predecessor.

“Stimulus” for Mice: With Unemployment Rising, Democrats’ “Stimulus” Helps San Francisco Mice, But Not American Workers

WASHINGTON TIMES ON GOP RESPONSE: MOUSE MONEY “EPITOMIZES THE FAILURE OF STIMULUS SPENDING TO HELP AN ECONOMY STILL SHEDDING JOBS”

July 9, 2009 | House Republican Leader John Boehner (R-OH) | Permalink

How does helping the salt marsh harvest mouse help middle-class families and small businesses struggling with dramatic job loss during this recession? That’s a good question to ask House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), other Democrats in Congress, and the Administration, as it was recently revealed that the tiny little mouse is getting $16 million in taxpayer dollars thanks to the Democrats’ “stimulus” spending bill that isn’t working. House Republican Leader John Boehner (R-OH) exposed the mouse money in his weekly press briefing earlier today:

“The bottom line is this: the stimulus isn’t creating enough jobs, but here’s one thing the stimulus is accomplishing. You’ll recall earlier this year on the debate on the stimulus bill, the Democrats promised that the stimulus bill would be free of earmarks. And a lot of us disagreed. We pointed to one particular request that we were convinced was going to be funded in this. That was to protect the salt marsh harvest mouse near Speaker Pelosi’s district in San Francisco. You remember the Democrats claimed ‘no no no, we’re not going to fund this, it’s not in the bill, it’s not going to happen.’ Well, guess what? $16 million of the stimulus money was appropriated to take care of the salt marsh harvest mouse.” (VIDEO)

The Washington Times has the details about how the mouse got its money from a bill Democrats promised would be about creating jobs during the ongoing recession:

“The tiny mouse that became a hotly disputed symbol of wasteful spending in the congressional debate over the $787 billion economic stimulus bill has returned to pester House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.”

“The Obama administration quietly announced last week that as much as $16.1 million from the stimulus program is going to save the San Francisco Bay area habitat of, among other things, the endangered salt marsh harvest mouse.”

“That has revived Republican criticism that the pet project was an ‘invisible earmark’ in the massive spending bill for Mrs. Pelosi, whose San Francisco district abuts the bay, and epitomizes the failure of stimulus spending to help an economy still shedding jobs.”

Money for mice. Is that what middle-class families and small businesses expected from the Democrats’ trillion-dollar “stimulus” spending bill? Wasn’t the legislation supposed to create jobs “immediately” and keep unemployment below eight percent? So let’s get this straight: the stimulus isn’t creating jobs for American workers, but it is making sure American harvest mice have nice comfortable homes in the midst of the recession. No wonder the American people think Washington is so out of touch.

BOEHNER ON THE OBAMA BUDGET: “THE MORE HE TALKS ABOUT IT, THE LESS PEOPLE LIKE IT”

GOP BUDGET ALTERNATIVE SET TO CURB SPENDING, CREATE JOBS, & CONTROL DEBT

In a weekend story entitled “Weeks of Obama’s Budget Sales Pitch and Support Still Slips,” the Los Angeles Times reported that the more Americans learn about the President’s budget, the more unpopular it becomes. And a new Washington Post/ABC News poll released today found that the American people are increasingly skeptical about the President’s economic proposals. Republican Leader John Boehner (R-OH) addressed this point today at a press conference:

“There’s no question that [families and small businesses] are struggling and as they struggle it’s pretty clear that the budget that’s being presented by the President spends too much, taxes too much, and it borrows too much from our kids and grandkids. The President has been on this big road show over the last two weeks. He was out in California doing town hall meetings, he was on the Leno show, was on 60 Minutes, came up here last night to rally support for his budget, but it seems like the more he talks about it, the less people like it. And it’s clear that the numbers in support of his budget continue to collapse because as more Americans find out how much spending is in here and how much debt is going to be laid on the backs of our kids and grandkids, it continues to lose support.” (AUDIO)

Working on a better solution, Budget Committee Ranking Republican Paul Ryan (R-WI) previewed the GOP alternative he will unveil tomorrow, noting it will be “a budget that is lower on spending, that is lower on deficits, that is lower on taxes, that is lower on debt and higher on jobs.” Ryan also pointed to a chart highlighting the stark difference in spending and debt between the Obama budget and the Republican alternative:

While the Obama budget spends too much, taxes too much, and borrows too much, the GOP alternative set to be introduced tomorrow will strengthen the economy and restore fiscal sanity by letting families and small businesses keep more of what they earn; ensuring federal budget doesn’t grow faster than family budgets; committing to real entitlement reform and expanding Americans’ access to affordable health care; ending the bailouts to protect taxpayers; reducing gas prices through an “all of the above” energy plan; and fighting inflation so prices of goods and services remain stable.

I don’t care what the GOP says now, I want action. I’ve had enough of the talk. If it were not for Conservatives, nare a one of them would hold office. If they don’t listening, they will find out what it’s really like to be left out in the cold. How dare they treat us like idiots!

We have supported them through thick and thin, and they want us to believe that all of a sudden they remembered why we sent them there? HA! No way. I’m a ’show me’ type of gal, and I’m very angry.

Speaking about herding hundreds of cats, why is it they don’t remember NOT to spend money when we have a Republican president? I love George Bush, but I did not agree with everything he put forward.

Let’s see:

Prescriptions for free? Ha! Why do I have to pay for Bill Gates’ medication?
No Child Left Behind? WE ARE NOT THE EDUCATION BUSINESS.
Illegal alien amnesty? We shut that down right quick.

And that’s only a few. As quickly and harshly as we shut down the push to give ILLEGAL aliens amnesty, that is nothing in comparison to how quickly we will throw these bums out. I’ve had it. No more money. Stop calling me. Stop cutting down those trees to send me junk mail. Just stop it.

Do your job. They may have a wee bit of credibility IF they had shown an ounce of stones when they were in charge. Boehner has to go. He is not a leader. None of them ever stood up for President Bush when he was under attack. No. They just ran and hid in the DhimmiRats caucus. We do NOT need people of that ilk.

Have a blessed day.

Dems Dump Middle-Class Tax Cuts from Budget While Keeping New National Energy Tax That Hits All Americans

Eighty-One Percent of Americans Believe Middle-Class Tax Relief is Important to Keep in Budget, New Survey Shows

WASHINGTON, DC – House Republican Leader John Boehner (R-OH) today challenged President Obama’s apparent decision to allow the Democratic-controlled Congress to dump his long-promised middle-class tax cut from the FY 2010 budget, and vowed Republicans will offer a better budget that cuts taxes for middle-class families instead of raising them through a new national energy tax.

“This is an epic bait-and-switch that should infuriate every middle-class family in America,” Boehner said. “The American people overwhelmingly believe middle-class tax relief is essential to getting our economy moving again. But instead of cutting taxes for middle-class families, Washington Democrats are raising their taxes by as much as $3,100 a year in the middle of a deep recession.”

President Obama’s budget director, Peter Orszag, has endorsed both the House and Senate versions of the President’s FY 2010 budget – but according to the New York Times, “neither would extend a middle-class tax cut championed by Mr. Obama beyond 2010 unless a source of revenue to pay for it is identified.” Meanwhile, Boehner noted that a new national energy tax insisted upon by the President will hit virtually every American family and small business and could cost every American household up to $3,100 a year. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) confirmed this in public comments last week in which he indicated Democrats will use revenue from the President’s new national energy tax to pay for an expansion of government-run health care.

According to a Rasmussen survey released today, 81 percent of Americans believe it is important for Congress to pass a budget that includes the middle-class tax relief that was frequently promised but now abandoned by President Obama. Only 15 percent say the promised middle-class tax relief is not important.

“The Democratic budget spends too much, taxes too much, and borrows too much,” Boehner said. “It will hurt middle-class families at a time when they can least afford it.”

“Americans deserve a better budget, and members of all political stripes will have the chance to vote for one when the full text of the GOP alternative being finalized by Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI) is released this week,” Boehner added. “Instead of raising taxes on middle-class families and all Americans through the President’s national energy tax, Republicans will do what the American people want their government to do: we will curb spending, control the debt, and reduce the tax burden on working families and small businesses to create jobs and ease the strain on family budgets.”

House Republicans Unveil The True Road to Recovery

via email…

WASHINGTON, D.C. – House Republican Leader John Boehner (R-OH) today issued the following statement on the “Road to Recovery,” a detailed plan to curb spending, create jobs, and control the debt, in contrast to the irresponsible budget proposed by President Obama and the Democratic-controlled Congress, which spends too much, taxes too much and borrows too much:

“Families and small businesses across America are struggling and looking to Washington for solutions. Unfortunately, the President’s budget spends too much, taxes too much, and borrows too much. Republicans have a better solution. Our Road to Recovery plan curbs spending, creates jobs and cuts taxes, and controls the debt at a time when the American people deserve responsible answers during this economic crisis. The President’s budget will hurt the economy and destroy jobs. By contrast, our Road to Recovery plan will strengthen the economy, create jobs, and restore fiscal sanity in Washington.

“This isn’t the first time Republicans offered better solutions, and the President and Democrats in Congress know that. This year, House Republicans have offered alternatives on the economy and jobs, children’s health care, college and retirement savings, and housing. Now, our Road to Recovery plan builds on the better budget principles I outlined for the President last week. It’s time for Washington Democrats to start doing what’s in the best interests of the American people and work with us to produce a fiscally-responsible budget that creates jobs and helps middle-class families.”

NOTE: The House GOP’s Road to Recovery plan curbs spending, creates jobs and lowers taxes, and controls the debt by:

  • Letting families and small businesses keep more of what they earn;
  • Ensuring federal budget doesn’t grow faster than family budgets;
  • Committing to real entitlement reform and expanding Americans’ access to affordable health care;
  • Ending the bailouts to protect taxpayers;
  • Reducing gas prices through an “all of the above” energy plan; and
  • Fighting inflation so prices of goods and services remain stable.

I was once again invited to participate in a conference call with Rep. Boehner this morning where he outlined this plan. Participants were given an opportunity to ask questions. I asked…

As the Democrat Caucus pushes forward with implementing the President’s budget and in the process eliminates his much touted “Middle-Class tax cut”, is the GOP Caucus prepared to take the Democrats and their President to the mat in the coming election (meaning the midterms) and remind the American people who exactly is responsible for raising taxes on the poorest segment of the population during the recession with the elimination of the 10% tax bracket and increased taxes on tobacco and other consumer products?

In his answer the Minority Leader assured us that we “don’t have to worry about that”. That a number of really good Conservative candidates are coming forward to challenge the liberals in the upcoming midterms.

The reason I asked the question was that the Democrats were left virtually unchallenged in the 2006 & 2008 elections on the subject of tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans when in fact the Bush tax cuts created a lower tax bracket that was previously non-existent. When they are allowed to expire, that 10% bracket will be eliminated and those taxpayers currently paying that lowest rate will see a 50% increase in their rate when they find themselves back in the 15% bracket. Combine that with the implementation of new taxes on tobacco products on April 1st of this year and calls for an increase in the gasoline tax, the regressive nature of the Obamaramadingdong’s budget and tax proposals will hit all Americans. But they will have a larger impact on the poorest of the population. I am concerned that the liberal media will cover over these facts come election time should the GOP mount an ineffective campaign against the liberal fiction machine.

Another Ohio Blogger asked about the lack of Blue Dog Democrat opposition to the Obamaramadingdong’s agenda to which Rep. Boehner said that they are nothing more than “lap dogs for Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, and President Obama”. And that there are very few actual Conservative Democrats in the House.

When Justin Higgins brought up the subject of the national tea parties and asked whether or not they are being getting any attention on ‘the Hill’, Rep. Boehner reminded us that the hastily thrown together legislation that House Dems put together to insulate themselves from responsibility in the AIG bonus fiasco was a result of public outrage and that Congress responds to the engaged electorate. From this I took that we should be wearing out the phone lines, bombarding the emails, clogging the fax machines, and generally making ourselves into a force that the elected elites cannot ignore and eventually, we’ll get heard.

There have been calls on the public to send tea bags to their elected officials to protest the fiscal irresponsibility of the current Congress and their President – Obamaramadingdong. My information is that these tea bags are NOT being received by your elected elites. Because the bags can contain a potentially hazardous substance, they are being disposed of before delivery. Instead, the current method is to remove the tag from the tea bag and mail that in.

Just think, a typical box of tea bags contains 100 bags of tea. One has the ability to enjoy the tea and send each Senator a tea bag tag from just 1 box. Estimated retail cost $3. Postage on the other hand…

DemCong on Offshore Drilling Ban: UNCLE!

Democrat hopes of using a bill that partially lifted the ban on offshore drilling as a campaign tool has been shown for what it is – smoke and mirrors election year trickery. If by chance it survived the Senate and made it to the President’s desk it would have had the life expectancy of a mosquito in a bug zapper. And I think it is understood that there isn’t a snowball’s chance in Satanland of the DemCong over-riding his veto because the required votes simply do not exist.

The Democrats’ excuse for their capitulation is a result of their finally understanding reality. They know that anything that goes to the President which continues the moratorium on drilling, including that sham of a bill passed by SanFran Nan’s libtarded House, would be sent back to the Congress with red ink all over it. Reality is unless the ban is lifted or allowed to expire the government will have to take a vacation and Republicans would be able to capitalize on the ineffectiveness of the 110th Do-Nothing Congress.

House Minority Leader John Boehner said…

If true, this capitulation by Democrats following months of Republican pressure is a big victory for Americans struggling with record gasoline prices.

Now the end of the moratorium will not mean that drilling will commence any time soon. Congress, still controlled by the Democrats, would have to approve royalty sharing with the states in order for the state governments to allow drilling to begin. That won’t happen. In a sense the defacto ban would still be in place.

ON THE OTHER HAND…

What if Congress changes hands? Or maybe just one house changes hands? Royalty sharing could be on the table especially if McCain were to win the Presidency as he has made it a campaign pledge.

Prediction…

I see gas prices falling in the next week or so as we saw after President Bush’s executive order lifting the executive ban. Just that one simple indicator was enough to drive down price at the pump nearly 30 cents per gallon in 6 weeks. Imagine when all the barriers are gone.

Campaign impact…

McCain needs to push forward with the differences in the philosophies between the Parties. He needs to inform as many as he can that the Do-Nothing DemCong wanted to cloud the issue with a smoke and mirrors bill. He needs to point out that the Dems are happy to be in the control of countries that aren’t our friends. They are happy as long as their allies in the environmental lobby are happy. Environmentalism equals energy dependence and McCain needs to use this in order to capitalize on the philosophical differences.

It is no secret that the vast majority of Americans want to drill American oil in order to eliminate our dependency. The DemCong blinked first. Now it is time for Republicans to capitalize on their weakness.

Playing Political Games, Dems to Offer Drilling Bill of Their Own

Sensing blood in the water, their own blood that is, House Democrats will offer a bill that includes drilling. But somehow I don’t believe that it is a genuine drilling bill. Let’s investigate.

The al-Reuters headline reads:

Democrats to offer bill with offshore oil drilling

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said on Saturday when the U.S. Congress returns next month from its summer recess, Democrats will offer legislation that could give oil companies drilling access to more offshore areas.

By moving to open additional federal waters to energy exploration, Democrats could narrow the differences they have with Republicans on tackling America’s energy problems, a concern that ranks high with voters heading into the November presidential and congressional elections. – emphasis MINE

This is a setup America. They want to be appearing to be taking action on the energy crisis BEFORE the election because they now perceive it as beneficial to their political ambitions. But if you think for a moment that anything they consider is genuine OR will actually pass, take another hit of that bong lefty because you are delusional.

Democrats do not want additional drilling and if they must submit to more drilling offshore, they will want some additional spending for pet projects that will have nothing to do with energy production or for futile “alternative energy” programs that are already over-funded and have no chance of contributing to energy independence in the foreseeable future.

So what is the catch? According to the Wicked Witch of the West herself…

In the Democrats’ weekly radio address, Pelosi of California said expanding drilling areas would be part of a broader bill which addresses other energy issues.

“It will consider opening portions of the (offshore) Outer Continental Shelf for drilling, with appropriate safeguards, and without taxpayer subsidies to Big Oil,” she said.

Pelosi said the legislation would require oil companies to pay billions of dollars in drilling royalties, which would be invested in clean energy resources.

That’s right, she wants to cut into the measly 9 percent profit margin in order to fund these massively expensive “alternative fuels” projects that, AGAIN, HAVE NO HOPE OF REDUCING AMERICA’S DEPENDENCY ON FOREIGN OIL IN THE FORESEEABLE FUTURE. None, nada, no-way Jose.

What does House Minority Leader John Boehner have to say?

House Republican leader John Boehner of Ohio said the Democratic proposal falls short of Republican-sponsored legislation that would open more areas to oil drilling, including the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge in Alaska.

“While the speaker now claims to embrace a comprehensive energy plan that includes more conservation, more innovation, and more American energy production, the fact is her new effort appears to be just another flawed plan that will do little to lower gas prices,” Boehner said.

He said if Pelosi was serious about boosting domestic oil supplies, she would call the House back into session to take up such a bill. Congress is scheduled to return on September 8.

People if the oil companies are going to have subsidies cut and a tax levied on their profits, what incentive will they have to begin drilling? And who do you actually think will pay for these losses in revenue to the oil companies? WE WILL!

Pelosi’s pie-in-the-sky ambitions to “save the planet” are going to bankrupt American families. This left coast liberal (socialist) wants to spread her San Francisco brand of liberalism (socialism) into fly-over country. But Nancy doesn’t realize that it takes an awful lot of gasoline for us out here in fly-over country to function.

Nancy hopes to begin to profit from the Pickens Plan and that is her personal goal (beyond her political goals). I’ll guarantee that should the Dem plan actually pass, some of the “royalties” money that she wants to embezzle from oil companies will make their way into the hands of T. Boone Pickens and increase the value of her stock in his companies.

Cartoonist – Lisa Benson

It is time to reject Pelosi and the “Gang of 10″. Support the Republicans holding the rogue session in the House and push for passage of their bill. And while we’re at it, don’t fall for her political ploy. Democrats are not interested in solving our oil dependency problems. They want the US dependent. It gives them power. Our only hope is a true Conservative takeover of Congress in November.

Boehner to FCC: Government Should Keep Its Hands Off the Internet

Boehner: “This dangerous path would limit freedom, stifle innovation and entrepreneurship, and kill American jobs”

WASHINGTON, DC – House Republican Leader John Boehner (R-OH) today sent a letter to Kevin Martin, chairman of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), urging him to keep the Internet free of new Washington regulation. He issued the following statement accompanying the letter:

“Recent media reports indicate the FCC is poised for massive, unprecedented regulation of the Internet. This dangerous path would limit freedom, stifle innovation and entrepreneurship, and kill American jobs. Internet regulation is a solution in search of a problem. We should maintain the ‘hands off’ approach that has served the Internet, the American people, and our economy so well.

“The wild success of the Internet and the wireless industry are perfect examples of what happens when entrepreneurship and innovation are allowed to flourish. Endangering ongoing innovation in our economy by crushing the entrepreneurial spirit of the American people is the wrong approach, pure and simple.”
