Obama’s Promise to Make Pigs Fly

This week, the President and his Infestation began to speak of a second stimulus “jobs bill”. They’ve been instructed to not use the word stimulus but to use “jobs bill” instead according to an Infestation official in a television interview. If you are thinking, “yeah, it’s about time the Infestation addresses the space station level unemployment/under-employment numbers,” perhaps you need to take a few minutes and think about where the government gets all this money they are doling out.

First and foremost, the government doesn’t have any money. To insist that the government is using government money to fund something is ignorant to that fact. The government gets the money it wastes from “We The People” through the over-taxation of the employed. Government doesn’t create anything or provide a marketable skill for which it is compensated. Government is nothing more than a clearing house for pilfered money.

If you then think about the efficiency with with the federal government operates you must come to the conclusion that the feds manage money like a crack addict. For example – welfare programs. The government does not spend 100% of every dollar designated for helping the poor on the poor. It only spends about $.70 on the dollar. The other $.30 pays for the bureaucracy the government has in place to “redistribute” the nation’s wealth. Seeings how the government can only achieve D worthy work in this area, does it make sense to give them more money to waste? I mean a 70% success rate any student will tell you is almost failing.

As more and more people are forced onto the government dole due to the mismanagement of the economy by the President, his Infestation, and the pinheads in the majority in both houses of Congress, that system of “redistributing” what’s left of the nation’s wealth will only get less efficient. But then again, that is what Obama learned from his study of Cloward-Piven.

Remember their strategy was to overwhelm the system in order to create a crisis for which the only answer would be to implement draconian solutions such as socialism. That is why it is called the Cloward-Piven Strategy for Socialist Revolution. And Obama studied it.

His calls for a second stimulus “jobs bill” are just another phase in his plan to “fundamentally transform America”. He’s going to “transform” us from a nation of free peoples seeking for our own niche in society from which we can prosper into a society enslaved by an ever present, all knowing, all seeing, and all intrusive government which tells us what we will do as an occupation and how much wealth we can accumulate. Something tells me that Obama was cheering for “Big Brother” in George Orwell’s ‘1984′.

He boldly touts the “success” of his first stimulus package citing a phantom 2 million “created or saved” jobs. But where were they? Who knows? The Infestation sure doesn’t. Their own website recovery.gov lists allegedly “created or saved” jobs in Congressional districts that do not exist in zip codes that don’t exist either. If there is no such location, how then can there be a job “created or saved” there?

When Obama pushed for his stimulus package, he promised that without it unemployment “may go as high as 8%”. Here we are sitting at 10% unemployment (with many states way above 10%) after his stimulus package passed. If the President was right when he warned us it would go to 8% without his stimulus, had Congress not acted would unemployment have gotten this high? Many believe not. Many believe (and count me among them) that the President’s stimulus program made economic conditions worse.

And while we are talking about these lofty unemployment numbers, let us not lose sight of the fact that the number of unemployed/under-employed in this country is in excess of 17%. That’s 17% of our nation’s population either not working or working for a wage that is insufficient to pay the monthly bills. That is a crime.

Quoting Lewis Carroll –

“The time has come,” the Walrus said,
“To talk of many things:
Of shoes–and ships–and sealing-wax–
Of cabbages–and kings–
And why the sea is boiling hot–
And whether pigs have wings.”

The truth of the matter is that for all the President’s talk about rescuing this nation’s economy nothing could be further from his mind. He is not interested in rescuing this economy as-a-matter-of-fact he intends on damaging it further in his effort to bring about the dream of Cloward and Piven. Like the oysters in Lewis Carroll’s poem, America is being led to the feast.

“A loaf of bread,” the Walrus said,
“Is what we chiefly need:
Pepper and vinegar besides
Are very good indeed–
Now if you’re ready, Oysters dear,
We can begin to feed.”

“But not on us!” the Oysters cried,
Turning a little blue.
“After such kindness, that would be
A dismal thing to do!”
“The night is fine,” the Walrus said.
“Do you admire the view?

“It was so kind of you to come!
And you are very nice!”
The Carpenter said nothing but
“Cut us another slice:
I wish you were not quite so deaf–
I’ve had to ask you twice!”

“It seems a shame,” the Walrus said,
“To play them such a trick,
After we’ve brought them out so far,
And made them trot so quick!”
The Carpenter said nothing but
“The butter’s spread too thick!”

“I weep for you,” the Walrus said:
“I deeply sympathize.”
With sobs and tears he sorted out
Those of the largest size,
Holding his pocket-handkerchief
Before his streaming eyes.

“O Oysters,” said the Carpenter,
“You’ve had a pleasant run!
Shall we be trotting home again?’
But answer came there none–
And this was scarcely odd, because
They’d eaten every one. [1]

And we, my fellow peasants of the United Socialist States of Amerika, are the main course. That is once Obama achieves his goals.

If you believe that Obama is going to rescue this economy then be prepared for a shock. Because that promise my friend stinks of pigs aloft.

Before I close I’ll remind you of a very simple truth that I’ve written many many times before…

You cannot legislate universal health, but you can legislate universal sickness;
You cannot legislate universal prosperity; but you can legislate universal poverty;
You cannot legislate universal happiness; but you can legislate universal dispair.

And Obama is attempting to legislate all the above.

THE OBAMA INFESTATION LOVES WELFARE ENSLAVEMENT…

… SO MUCH SO THAT THEY NOT ONLY WANT TO SPEND MORE TO FUND IT, THEY WANT TO ADD MORE PEOPLE TO ITS RANKS

The single most significant piece of legislation passed during the Clintonian Infestation was Welfare Reform also known as The 1996 Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Reconciliation Act. The bill required those receiving welfare benefits to either enter a work study program to learn a trade or attend school with the goal of removing as many people from the government dole as possible. The Obama Infestation has effectively removed those requirements.

Little known provisions embedded in the Porkulus package passed without being read by ANYONE on Capital Hill have in effect removed all the provisions of The 1996 Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Reconciliation Act.

Investors Business Daily reports…

Self-identified neo-liberal Mickey Kaus, writing in Slate, called the “insufficiently publicized” and “deeply troubling” provision in the legislation a “liberal conspiracy to expand the welfare rolls.”

“If only for political purposes, I figured, Dems would have to wait a few months or years before sabotaging Bill Clinton’s major domestic achievement,” wrote Kaus. “It took them two weeks.”

The IBD report outlines many aspects of the liberals “progressives” war on poverty. None more shocking than the amounts of taxpayers money has been spent on this exercise in futility.

The country has spent $15.9 trillion of other people’s money on welfare since the mid-1960s. But it has failed. As noted in the Gospel of Matthew, we will always have the poor.

“Welfare spending was 13 times greater in fiscal 2008, after adjusting for inflation, than it was when the war on poverty started in 1964,” says a new study from the Heritage Foundation.

“Means-tested welfare spending was 1.2% of the gross domestic product when President Johnson began the war on poverty. In 2008, it reached 5% of GDP.”

In the many wars that have been waged by this government in our 233 history, the war on poverty seems to be the one war that has accomplished the least. As the government continues to spend other people’s money to combat poverty, the worse the problem seems to become.

  1. Universal prosperity cannot be legislated. But legislation can bring about universal poverty.
  2. Universal happiness cannot be legislated. But legislation can bring about universal misery.
  3. Universal good health cannot be legislated. But legislation can bring about universal sickness and death.

Heaven forbid you become a member of the ranks of those who must rely on the government “helping hand” because it will mean virtual enslavement. Especially if ANYONE in your family requires Medicaid to manage a serious medical condition. Once you are in the system, you are tied to the system or your loved one requiring medical attention could be cut-off. Attempt to reenter the work force, no health care even though you won’t qualify for medical insurance for a period of 3 months to a year from your hire date. Not to mention the restrictions on pre-existing conditions.

The worse off are those who have lived a certain lifestyle for the bulk of their lives and have found themselves entirely without resources in middle age. Too young for Social Security, not injured so disability is out of the question, and their unemployment insurance benefits have expired. Now it is off to social services for that “helping hand up” as so many on the left praise it to be.

Now comes the restrictions. Do you own life insurance? Turn it in. Do you own your home? Sell it. Do you own a cemetery plot? Sell it. Do you own any stocks or bonds? Sell them. Do you own any real estate? Sell it.

Here’s the lulu of it all. If you are a woman and you are pregnant, if you are married you will NOT qualify for cash assistance. However, if you are not married, even if you live with the baby’s father, YOU WILL qualify for cash assistance. I don’t know about you, but something seems a bit WRONG about that.

Back to the IBD report…

Apparently, we just haven’t spent enough. At least that seems to be the position of the White House. It has opened the spigot of the fastest-growing government expenditure. Over the first two years of this administration, annual federal welfare spending will jump by a third, from $522 billion to $697 billion, says the Heritage study titled “Obama To Spend $10.3 Trillion On Welfare.”

The cost to the families funding the programs is enormous. Heritage says each household is paying $560 a month this year and will pay $638 a month in 2010.

But this administration is just getting started. Over the next decade (which includes the current fiscal year), welfare spending will hit that $10.3 trillion mark — $7.5 trillion in taxpayers’ money disbursed by Washington, $2.8 trillion in taxpayers’ money handed out by the states. None of this even includes what the federal government will spend if it successfully takes over health care.

With the Obama Infestation’s deliberate assault on the private sector, it is evident that they wish more people to be dependent upon the government for their every need. This is precisely why the government non-”option” is so near and dear to the liberal progressive heart during the discussions about health care reform. They need a public non-”option” to further enslave you to the government who will eventually tell you where you can live, where you work, how much you are compensated, what products your are able to buy, and how you will spend your non-working hours.

One thing that I can assure you, if given everything they want, liberals progressives will not allow you to criticize the government during those non-working hours. They are already trying to discredit those who speak out against their massive power grab. Charges of racism are only scratching the surface.

And for the record. Anyone throwing around the racism terminology whether they be a former President or not are proving that they cannot argue their position any longer. The well has run dry my friends. Once they are permitted to charge those who disagree with this President and his minions for what they are doing to destroy this nation with charges of racism, this republic has officially ended.

Fox News Commentator Glenn Beck has it right. We need to quarantine D.C. Nothing in (taxes) and nothing out. The most beneficial thing that Congress can do is to go on recess. Because if they are not in Washington, they cannot harm us. And that goes for the Emperor as well.

So send them all on a paid vacation. Because it will be cheaper on the American people in the long run.

“Stimulus” for Mice: With Unemployment Rising, Democrats’ “Stimulus” Helps San Francisco Mice, But Not American Workers

WASHINGTON TIMES ON GOP RESPONSE: MOUSE MONEY “EPITOMIZES THE FAILURE OF STIMULUS SPENDING TO HELP AN ECONOMY STILL SHEDDING JOBS”

July 9, 2009 | House Republican Leader John Boehner (R-OH) | Permalink

How does helping the salt marsh harvest mouse help middle-class families and small businesses struggling with dramatic job loss during this recession? That’s a good question to ask House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), other Democrats in Congress, and the Administration, as it was recently revealed that the tiny little mouse is getting $16 million in taxpayer dollars thanks to the Democrats’ “stimulus” spending bill that isn’t working. House Republican Leader John Boehner (R-OH) exposed the mouse money in his weekly press briefing earlier today:

“The bottom line is this: the stimulus isn’t creating enough jobs, but here’s one thing the stimulus is accomplishing. You’ll recall earlier this year on the debate on the stimulus bill, the Democrats promised that the stimulus bill would be free of earmarks. And a lot of us disagreed. We pointed to one particular request that we were convinced was going to be funded in this. That was to protect the salt marsh harvest mouse near Speaker Pelosi’s district in San Francisco. You remember the Democrats claimed ‘no no no, we’re not going to fund this, it’s not in the bill, it’s not going to happen.’ Well, guess what? $16 million of the stimulus money was appropriated to take care of the salt marsh harvest mouse.” (VIDEO)

The Washington Times has the details about how the mouse got its money from a bill Democrats promised would be about creating jobs during the ongoing recession:

“The tiny mouse that became a hotly disputed symbol of wasteful spending in the congressional debate over the $787 billion economic stimulus bill has returned to pester House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.”

“The Obama administration quietly announced last week that as much as $16.1 million from the stimulus program is going to save the San Francisco Bay area habitat of, among other things, the endangered salt marsh harvest mouse.”

“That has revived Republican criticism that the pet project was an ‘invisible earmark’ in the massive spending bill for Mrs. Pelosi, whose San Francisco district abuts the bay, and epitomizes the failure of stimulus spending to help an economy still shedding jobs.”

Money for mice. Is that what middle-class families and small businesses expected from the Democrats’ trillion-dollar “stimulus” spending bill? Wasn’t the legislation supposed to create jobs “immediately” and keep unemployment below eight percent? So let’s get this straight: the stimulus isn’t creating jobs for American workers, but it is making sure American harvest mice have nice comfortable homes in the midst of the recession. No wonder the American people think Washington is so out of touch.

In The Shadow of Socialized Medicine

May 13, 2009 Communism, Health Care, News, Opinion, Stupidity, socialism Comments Off

Generally speaking, most liberals are for single payer health care or some other form of socialized medical care, and most conservatives are not. This is fairly easy to understand as the majority of liberals believe that health care is too important to be left to the money grubbing big pharma companies and the selfish, money-grubbing, power-hungry doctors who think they are demigods.

Conservatives of course are much more rational. We understand that the liberal mindset cannot grasp the logical extension of their thinking. For example, If it is good social policy that the so called rich pay more than they should, repeat should be more than magnanimous and pay everything they make; you know the simplified IRS Form 1040:

Line 1 How much did you make……………………$_________

Line 1a Send it in!………………………………………..$_________

And of course the rest of us merely get a check based on our “fair share” of the pie.

Obama has already set that up in his “95% of you will get a tax cut” which leaves out the simple fact that 40% of us don’t pay taxes anyway and if Obama really does get his way, that means that those in that category will get a larger check from Uncle Sugar as Uncle Sam is known in some corners.

But I digress, this story is about medicine and not tax dollars (though by the end of this diatribe you will understand the connection between the two.)

I recently read via Glenn Reynolds that there is the possibility of rationing of health care – oh, excuse me, that is a buzz word hated by those who support single-payer health care (socialized medicine by another name) – I mean rationing Tamiflu and Relenza because the WHO (World Health Organization) says that if we aren’t careful about who gets it, we may well run out of if.

For the moment, let’s forget the running out of it part and concentrate on the lets decide who is gonna get it and when that happens, health care is being de facto rationed. And rationed care is not one bit better than what we currently have, except for who gets to decide who gets it. Lets be honest, there is not enough quality health care to go around in this world. Like it or not, that is a simple fact that even the most obtuse ought to be able to get their minds around.

Currently, the best health care is fettered by ability to pay or possession of some form of health “insurance” or by the charitable giving of time and resources by those that have the time and resources to give. That is one of the reasons that rationed care in say our neighbor to the north, Canada, has so many of it’s citizens coming to the United States for say MRIs or hip and knee replacements – care that we routinely accept as, well, routine. Of course, knee replacement costs money, but it is available to those on Medicare, Medicaid, or those with health insurance. And that of course means that it is rationed to those that can afford it – those without health insurance of some kind can either go without or pay for it out of pocket, and make no mistake, it ain’t cheap. In Canada, the wait for a “simple” knee replacement is perhaps greater than a 6 month period with poorer outcomes for those that waited longer where as in the United states, the wait time is 3 to 6 weeks and of course better outcomes.

Other medically necessary proceedures take longer in Canada than they do in the US, that is simple fact and the reason is simple, when the supply of dollars is limited, care must be rationed. Medicare for example is rapidly running out of dollars. According to the Obama administration, Medicare will run out of funds sooner than expected, as will Social Security:

In announcing the results of the trustees’ annual forecast with other Cabinet members, Treasury Secretary Timothy F. Geithner said, “The president explicitly rejects the notion that Social Security is untouchable politically.” Still, he reiterated that the administration intends to “work to build a bipartisan consensus to ensure the long-term solvency of Social Security” only after it collaborates with Congress to slow health-care spending and enable more Americans to obtain medical insurance.

You know, that’s pretty funny because conservatives have stated all along that Social Security and Medicare were going to be a massive drain and would be “in trouble” long before the Democrats decided that it was not an “untouchable” political third rail:

Congressional Republicans and some Democrats seized upon the findings to argue that the administration should work rapidly to ward off the looming insolvency of Social Security and Medicare. Sen. Judd Gregg (R-N.H.), who withdrew from nomination as Obama’s commerce secretary, said yesterday’s report shows that the recession is “accelerating the arrival of a massive, trillion-dollar entitlement crisis on our doorstep.” He added: “Trying to kick the can down the road will not make it go away. We need to take meaningful action now.” [emphasis added]

I distinctly remember the debate over the establishment of Medicare and Medicaid in 1964 and 1965 and the cost was “guaranteed” by Vice President Humphrey to stay “low.” Unfortunately for America, that cost was only a drop in the flood that these two entitlement programs would balloon to. Outlays for Medicare and Medicaid program are currently running to over $500,000.00 per household and the simple reason is that these programs have grown and grown and grown as “benefits” by a congress that wants to stay in power and it knowingly does so by handing out goodies gratis to the recipient but paid for by the American Taxpayer:

Taxpayers are on the hook for a record $57.3 trillion in federal liabilities to cover the lifetime benefits of everyone eligible for Medicare, Social Security and other government programs, a USA TODAY analysis found. That’s nearly $500,000 per household.

Those goodies will eventually result in significant rationing by a faceless bureaucracy. Will you get that new cancer treatment – no, not if you aren’t a special class. Will you get Tamiflu, again, no because that is suggested that it be rationed by WHO, and if you are a healthy productive member of society, don’t count on it because those of us that are at “higher risk” are likely to use up the supply if e.v.e.r.y.b.o.d.y. who wants it gets it.

I work hard for my living, and I have a great health insurance policy. I recently had an antibiotic prescribed that has a retail cost of $288.99 but I only paid $25.00. I’m also a cancer survivor, lung cancer in fact and I was an idiot smoker. What would have happened in the health nazi’s had said “Hey wait, we don’t give out anti-cancer drugs to those who smoked themselves into cancer.” Or maybe just denied because my best years are behind me? My beloved uncle recently had heart surgery paid for primarily by Medicare. He is in his (oh so very young) 80’s. Would he have been denied the surgery because he is “too old?”

But wait will say some, American Health Care isn’t so hot, in fact, the WHO rates US healthcare as 37th; below Costa Rica and Morroco. Morroco? Yeah, Morroco. Oh well, at least we beat Chad and Nigeria let alone Russia.

But there are significant problems with that ranking (last done 9 years ago because of the “complexity” of the problem.) Complexity? Heh, as Glenn Reynolds might say! One of the problems is of course, their methodology about which Dr. Chris Rangel note:

In the mockumentary ‘Sicko’, Michael Moore points out that despite spending the most on health care of any nation ($7,400 per capita), the US ranks near the bottom among industrialized countries and only two spots above Cuba (that spends $251 per capita). What rankings? In 2000 the World Health Organization came up with rankings for the health care systems of 190 countries.

The problem is that the WHO ranking has very little to do with the quality of health care as implied by ‘Sicko’ and by many liberals. Of several variables, only life expectancy is used as a measure of health care quality. But this is a bad measure of overall health care quality and does not correlate exactly with health care spending. This is due to the fact that there are multiple other variables other than health care that directly impact life expectancy.

Of course, we could offer health care like Cuba’s which Michael Moore extolled and which the WHO ranks 39th, only two lousy points below the US, but compare pictoral representations of the two:

Choose the hospital room on the left, or on the right. Your choice, choose carefully!

Obama is Drunk With Power & Refuses to Accept TARP Repayments

Being the devout Socialist that he is, control of the nation’s banking system is key to Obamaramadingdong’s plan of Socialist reform. Many banks were not in trouble when the emergency bailout was passed last fall BUT were REQUIRED to accept money from the federal government for assumed bad assets. The federal government inserted itself into our banking system and now refuses to be bought out.

From the Wall Street Journal - Stuart Varney:

I must be naive. I really thought the administration would welcome the return of bank bailout money. Some $340 million in TARP cash flowed back this week from four small banks in Louisiana, New York, Indiana and California. This isn’t much when we routinely talk in trillions, but clearly that money has not been wasted or otherwise sunk down Wall Street’s black hole. So why no cheering as the cash comes back?

My answer: The government wants to control the banks, just as it now controls GM and Chrysler, and will surely control the health industry in the not-too-distant future. Keeping them TARP-stuffed is the key to control. And for this intensely political president, mere influence is not enough. The White House wants to tell ‘em what to do. Control. Direct. Command.

It is not for nothing that rage has been turned on those wicked financiers. The banks are at the core of the administration’s thrust: By managing the money, government can steer the whole economy even more firmly down the left fork in the road.

If the banks are forced to keep TARP cash — which was often forced on them in the first place — the Obama team can work its will on the financial system to unprecedented degree. That’s what’s happening right now.

Here’s a true story first reported by my Fox News colleague Andrew Napolitano (with the names and some details obscured to prevent retaliation). Under the Bush team a prominent and profitable bank, under threat of a damaging public audit, was forced to accept less than $1 billion of TARP money. The government insisted on buying a new class of preferred stock which gave it a tiny, minority position. The money flowed to the bank. Arguably, back then, the Bush administration was acting for purely economic reasons. It wanted to recapitalize the banks to halt a financial panic.

Fast forward to today, and that same bank is begging to give the money back. The chairman offers to write a check, now, with interest. He’s been sitting on the cash for months and has felt the dead hand of government threatening to run his business and dictate pay scales. He sees the writing on the wall and he wants out. But the Obama team says no, since unlike the smaller banks that gave their TARP money back, this bank is far more prominent. The bank has also been threatened with “adverse” consequences if its chairman persists. That’s politics talking, not economics.

Think about it: If Rick Wagoner can be fired and compact cars can be mandated, why can’t a bank with a vault full of TARP money be told where to lend? And since politics drives this administration, why can’t special loans and terms be offered to favored constituents, favored industries, or even favored regions? Our prosperity has never been based on the political allocation of credit — until now.

Which brings me to the Pay for Performance Act, just passed by the House. This is an outstanding example of class warfare. I’m an Englishman. We invented class warfare, and I know it when I see it. This legislation allows the administration to dictate pay for anyone working in any company that takes a dime of TARP money. This is a whip with which to thrash the unpopular bankers, a tool to advance the Obama administration’s goal of controlling the financial system.

After 35 years in America, I never thought I would see this. I still can’t quite believe we will sit by as this crisis is used to hand control of our economy over to government. But here we are, on the brink. Clearly, I have been naive.

Mr. Varney is a host on the Fox Business Channel.

First – the feds required banks to accept this money whether they wanted it or not. Then – Obamaramadingdong refuses repayment of the money so that he can maintain control of the financial system of this nation. Can we say DANGEROUS TERRITORY?!?

To all those who discounted the claims made by those of us who actually looked into his background that his intentions were to destroy what we all know as the United States of America had better wake the hell up; because it is happening right under your noses. You people who voted for this turd just because you bought into the Democrat race warfare/class warfare BS, you people should be ashamed of yourselves for allowing this to happen.

Socialism has FAILED each and every time it has been tried. As a matter of fact, Obama’s excursions toward Socialism is NOT the first time it’s happened on these shores. The Pilgrims first tried a communal form of governing and nearly starved to death. They quickly found when each were rewarded equally instead of each being rewarded according to his efforts, that those who had a propensity for sandbagging the community did so. Soon, it was proven that society cannot survive if effort is not rewarded. Complacency breeds mediocrity and sloth.

Control of the financial sector is key to Socializing America. Unfortunately until the current majority is ousted, there is little that can be done to short circuit this journey into the abyss of Obamaism. First there was Marxism. Then Lenninism followed by Stalinism, Maosim, and Castroism. Welcome citizens of the United States to Obamaism and the United Socialist States of Amerika.

Barry O, Barney Frank, Chrissy Dodd, Fannie, Freddie, and Bailouts

Writing from Baby Gribbit’s hospital room at Cincinnati Children’s Medical Center…

For the past 7 days, Mrs. Gribbit and I have been relatively insulated from current events as we deal with our daughter’s medical conditions.

That said, we have a few words to say about who is responsible for the financial crisis that Congress is and the President are attempting to ease by employing socialist practices.

This condition was set-up back in the 1970s by a President and a Congress that was convinced then, as the 110th Do-Nothing Congress is now, that a shifting of the US economy from a free-market system to a socialist model was a way forward, in other words ‘progressive’, solution for economic prosperity for the American people. History has shown that President and Congress were failures to the people of this country and we are astonished by how complicit Republican members of Congress and the President are in releasing the socialism genie from his bottle. A genie mind you that will be massively difficult, if not impossible, to shove back in that bottle. But he’s out and now we must live with their decision to release him.

In 1977, Congress and President Jimmy Carter enacted The Community Reinvestment Act. According to the Federal Reserve Board…

The Community Reinvestment Act is intended to encourage depository institutions to help meet the credit needs of the communities in which they operate, including low- and moderate-income neighborhoods, consistent with safe and sound operations. It was enacted by the Congress in 1977 (12 U.S.C. 2901) and is implemented by Regulation BB (12 CFR 228). The regulation was substantially revised in May 1995, and was most recently amended in August 2005.

The CRA’s revisions have in a sense allowed for loans to be granted to individuals who didn’t have the means to pay them back. Gas prices shot up because Congress and Presidents of both Parties have failed to adopt energy policies that would eliminate our dependency of foreign oil and people no longer could afford to pay on these ill-advised loans. And a crisis was born.

Compounding the problem was Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. The companies were seen as being federally backed and as such under CRA had the power to purchase these questionable mortgages and thus encouraged lending to individuals with questionable credit. Fannie and Freddie would re-sell the loans at a profit. The purchasing financial institutions believed they were buying federally insured loans. Freddie and Fannie made massive profits which they shared not only with their corporate officers, but also with politicians.

I find it incredibly ironic that those in Congressional leadership at this present time, and responsible for bringing the bailout bill to the floor of each house, were themselves recipients of some of the highest political payoffs from Fannie and Freddie? Not only that but the freshman Senator from the state of Illinois, ‘The Chosen One’, none-other than the Democrat Nominee for President of the United States took the second highest amount of money from Fannie and Freddie. Barry Obama has spent less than 4 years in the Senate and he too took hush money from Fannie and Freddie to the tune of $126,349. Friends that is over $32,000 per year in the Senate. He is supposed to be the candidate for ‘Change’!?! Sounds like the same old Washington graft machine to me. After-all, he is a product of the Chicago Machine.

Higher gas prices were the trigger of the economic free-fall but the full impact is due to poor lending practices brought about by libtarded legislation with pie-in-the-sky utopian goals of social experimentation. Experimentation mind you that had no oversight.

In 2003, President Bush proposed legislation that would have created a new department in the federal government that would have over-seen Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. That legislation went nowhere. In 2005, Senator John McCain proposed legislation that would have clamped down on Freddie and Fannie and it was tabled in Committee by Chris Dodd in the Senate and Barney Frank in the House. Both are attempting to pin this on the Bush Administration. Barry O is trying to claim this as well and tie a perception of a failed economic policy. Bush and McCain attempted to fix the problem. Frank and Dodd helped to perpetuate the problem. Frank, Dodd, and Barry O are all in bed with those who triggered this mess. They are all members of the Party that made it possible and they all protected those who made it happen.

I think that perhaps we need legislation requiring any elected official, past, present, or future who take money from companies, organizations, or individuals that are bailed out by the federal government to pay the federal government an amount equal to the donations received.

Barry… that will be $126,349 Barry! Time to pony up ‘Hope’ boy!
Chrissy… your bill is $165,400! How about offsetting the price to the taxpayers banking boy!
Frankie… your share is not as much Frankie. You must be a cheap date. You would only owe $42,350 if such legislation were passed.

I won’t hold my breath since these are crooks who get to write such legislation.

Must be nice to create a problem that requires a massively expensive solution, that you get to design, someone else has to pay for, and you can place culpability for on your political opponents huh?

I’m sick to death of the Democrats denials in this matter. But what gets me more is the press’ willingness to allow those actually responsible to use them to lie to the people. And even more, the Politically Apathetic American Lemmings* who believe anything the MSM has to say.

Now if you don’t mind, I’ll get back to my sick baby.

Obama and the Financial Collapse

Barry O and his Democrat friends on the hill would have you believe that the Bush Administration is responsible for the current mess that they are attempting to buy our way out of. Buy that is with taxpayers’ money. These are the same people who collected donations from the very institutions which created this mess.

I’ve got a series of videos detailing Barry’s culpability along with that of his DemCong leadership colleagues. But of course, they want you to believe that keeping them in power and awarding Barry with the Presidency is ‘Change’. Not hardly.

H/T: Ms. Underestimated

Senator McCain has picked up on Barry’s advisors…

First there is Jim Johnson

Next there is Franklin Reines

The Chicago Machine…

Change? I think not. Barry is nothing more than the same failed Democrat pie in the sky Utopian dreaming policy that failed Mr. Lyndon Johnson and Mr. Jimmy Carter. They were wrong in the direction of the country when they tried the libtard direction and Barry is wrong trying to take us in that direction now.

And what about the bailout?

Fannie and Freddie Could Have Been Avoided 3 Years Ago

From FoxNews.com:

Isn’t it ironic that SanFran Nan and the rest of her fellow Democrats including their Nominee for President, Barry O, are blaming the Bush Administration for the down turn in the economy sparked by poor lending practices in the housing market? Isn’t it strangely ironic that in recent days we have found out that the problems stemmed from practices put into place to placate the Senate Banking Committee in 2005? And Isn’t it just a bit more than a coincidence that the current Chairman of the Senate Banking Committee, Christopher Dodd (D CT) and the Democrat Nominee for President of the United States one Barack Hussein Obama, received the highest amounts in contributions from Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac? It’s true according to several sources. Most especially Open Secrets.

Dodd received $165,400 from Fannie and Freddie’s PACs and Employees.
Obama received $126,349 from Fannie and Freddie’s PACs and Employees.

On top of these revelations we have also discovered that the Democrat Nominee in 2004, a certain John F. Kerry, received $111,000. That is as of September 8, 2008.

To be completely fair, it seems not many in the House and Senate from either Party are not guilty of taking Freddie and Fannie money. To his credit, Sen. John McCain took contributions from individuals but not Freddie and Fannie’s PACs.

The most interesting fact of these numbers is the fact that Barry O took the second highest amount of money from Fannie, Freddie, and their employees in the shortest amount of time. He has only completed 3 years and just under 9 months of his first term as a United States Senator and did not serve in the House before this term. So in just under 4 years in the Senate, most of which time he has spend campaigning for President, he has taken $31,500 per year in office. That is more than a lot of people make in personal income in a single year.

Bottom line is that those responsible for the current mess are running Congress. Now Congress is willing to take some action on oversight. That is like putting the fox in charge of the hen house after a majority of the hens have been eaten. This could have been fixed in 2005.

Besides FoxNews… Where is the news media? Absent as usual when it comes time to report on Democrat failure.

Obama is Drunk With Power & Refuses to Accept TARP Repayments

April 4, 2009

Being the devout Socialist that he is, control of the nation’s banking system is key to Obamaramadingdong’s plan of Socialist reform. The federal government inserted itself into [...]

Writing from Baby Gribbit’s hospital room at Cincinnati Children’s Medical Center…
