Is the Congressional Democrat Leadership Deaf Or Just Plain Stupid?

After this past week’s stunning victory of Republican Scott Brown in Massachusetts, it seems that Democrat leaders on the Hill are showing signs that they are incapable of learning what elections actually mean.

A Fabrizio, McLaughlin & Associates poll showed that 78% of voters supporting Scott Brown said their vote was intended to stop the Death Care bill. Let us not lose sight of the fact that only 12% of registered voters in Massachusetts are Republican. Let us not forget also that Independents broke 3:1 for Brown. But yet Pelosi and Reid desire to push through Obamacare anyway.

This begs the question… “Is the leadership of Congressional Democrats deaf? Or are they just plain stupid?”

Albert Einstein famously said, “The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results”. Using Einstein’s logic, Reid and Pelosi are insane.

They spent nearly a year trying to ram through this Death Care proposal but the People of the United States revolted. First they had to have it by August 1st. Then it was pushed back to October 31st, then Thanksgiving, then Christmas. Both houses have past their own versions of what they wanted Death Care to look like. But they are far from similar.

The next push? Get it reconciled by the State of the Union. Problem, Massachusetts that was supposed to be a lock for Democrat Martha Coakley – well the voters had other ideas.

Instead of letting it die, Reid and Pelosi are fantasizing about playing Frankenstein with the now deceased bill. They wish to bring it back from the dead and parade the legislative monster in front of the American People as if to say –

“It doesn’t matter what you want. We are in charge and what you want does not matter. We rule this nation so just sit back and watch American Idol and we’ll tell you what you will do.”

Their collective manner is insulting to the American voter and it is this attitude which has led to first the angry townhalls, the Tea Party protests, and finally to the election of Scott Brown in a state where a Republican hasn’t held national office since 1973. The next “teaching moment” for liberals on Capital Hill will be on November 4th. Their affinity for ignoring the American People will likely put more seats in play than previously thought.

FoxNews.com is reporting…

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid reportedly are considering a new list of changes to the Senate health care reform bill that could be passed separately as a way to advance the suddenly stalled overhaul of the health care system.

If such changes are passed in a separate piece of legislation, it could make the current Senate health care bill acceptable to enough liberal House members to pass it, allowing Democrats to achieve their goal of sweeping health care reform, Politico reported.

With the number of people rejecting Death Care in the “bluest of blue states”, it seems to me that Democrat leaders must either be deaf or just plain stupid. Which? I care not to speculate about. But I will say that Einstein’s comments on insanity seem to be in play as well.

Putting Tuesday Into Context – GOP Are You Listening?

Scott Brown’s victory is not only historic in that a Republican was elected to an office from a State that hasn’t been won by a Republican since 1973. It is even more historic on HOW he did it. The Republican Party as a whole needs to take a careful look at HOW Brown won. Duplicating the Brown campaign is essential to complete victory in November 2010.

Scott Brown ran on a platform of the Tea Party movement. Plain and simple. He ran an issues based campaign refraining from personal attacks. Is it permissible for a candidate to attack their opponent on an issue? Of course. But leave families out.

Massachusetts voters rejected the personal attacks of the Coakley campaign and the Emperor’s attacks on his pickup truck. Massachusetts voters recognize that the out of control spending of Washington is the problem. Massachusetts voters recognize that the Emperor’s Death Care bill would balloon the federal budget even more than he and his minions in Congress were able to do with the Porkulus, Omnibus, and Cash-for-Clunkers. Massachusetts voters recognize that the federal budget deficit and out of control national debt and unfunded liabilities are a problem that the people of this nation can no longer live with. So they did now what the nation is preparing to do in November. And thank Almighty GOD they did.

The Tea Parties opposition is rooted in this Infestation’s fiscal irresponsibility. Should Republicans return to the same fiscal irresponsible ways of the Bush era, they too will be targets of public angst.

We’ve had a taste of the Progressive Movement and we (collectively) do not like it.

The Obama Infestation clearified the differences between Conservatives and liberals (Progressives). If the GOP runs all of its races on Conservative Principles (Tea Party Principles), the GOP will win. That is the lesson of the Brown victory. Should the GOP deviate from the Brown plan – failure is inevitable and we will slip further toward Progressive Socialism.

The people of this nation want true economic recovery and that does not mean additional federal spending that only truly translates into political payoffs. The people of this nation understand that true economic recovery can only happen when the government gets out of the way and allow the economy to recover on its own. More taxes cannot accomplish this. The economy is more important to the People than universal health care but the leftists do not understand this truth.

I have said many times…

You cannot legislate universal health, but you can legislate universal sickness.
You cannot legislate universal prosperity, but you can legislate universal poverty.
You cannot legislate universal happiness, but you can legislate universal despair.

The Obama Infestation and Pelosi/Reid Politburo are attempting to legislate universal sickness, universal poverty, and universal despair a la the Cloward-Piven Strategy for Socialist Revolution. And you all now know this.

As for the calls for Brown to consider a 2012 Presidential run? SHUT UP!

We are now suffering under a President who, once elected to the US Senate, shifted his focus to a Presidential run. What has that gotten us?

Emperor Barry ran for President and won only because no one knew who the hell he was. If we knew then what we know now, I doubt he would have even gained his Party’s nomination.

Brown has yet to speak on the floor of the Senate. He hasn’t even cast a vote yet. For the love of Pete, he hasn’t even been sworn in. Can we please refrain from pushing the man into something that he may not wish on his worst enemy?

Let him concentrate on doing the things that he has promised to achieve in the Senate.

Kasich Announces Running Mate

January 15, 2010 Announcements., Ohio Politics, Opinion, Taxes, The Economy Comments Off

Former United States Congressman and Ohio Gubernatorial candidate Republican John Kasich announced his pick for the next Lt. Governor of Ohio, Auditor of State Mary Taylor.

From the John Kasich for Governor website Auditor Taylor writes

It truly is a new day in Ohio and I am excited to join John Kasich as we embark on a mission to transform state government as we know it.

The failed policies of the past three years have resulted in a 10.6 percent unemployment rate and the loss of 330,000 jobs. Ohio can’t take it anymore.

John Kasich and I will use our experience and accomplishments to reinvent state government. We will work together to bring jobs back to Ohio because we know that if government gets out of our way, Ohioans will prosper.
I am excited about this winning ticket and the more John and I talk and discuss the important issues facing our state, the more I realize how similar our record of leadership and accomplishments really is and how much this partnership truly makes sense.

I hope you will join us as we spend the next several months outlining our plans to establish an environment conducive for job growth and prosperity for all Ohioans.

Mary Taylor tried to warn Uncle Ted that he was facing a hole that he couldn’t spend his way out of but he wouldn’t listen. Now Mary is joining John Kasich in building a team that will not only bring Ohio out of that hole but create a business environment that will attract new businesses to the Buckeye State.

Our businesses are leaving us at an alarming rate. Why? Because of the aggressive tax system in place in Ohio. Kasich and Taylor want to eliminate the estate tax (6%) and phase out the income tax. These efforts along with other pro-business initiatives will create an environment that people want to live and work in. And if the costs of business go down, jobs will come back.

Massachusetts Democrat Political Shenanigans Almost As Bad As Chicago’s

In the run-up to the 2004 elections, the late Senator Ted Kennedy convinced Democrat leaders in Massachusetts to play political games with how a vacated seat is to be filled. Because at the time the state’s governor was a Republican (Mitt Romney), Kennedy and company feared that John Kerry’s seat would be filled by a Republican appointee. Instead of having an appointee fill the seat until the term expired, Kennedy and company got the law changed so that the appointee would only fill the seat until a special election could be called. Since Kerry lost the election, the point was moot but the change was already made.

Fast forward to the present…

Kennedy passes and now there is a scramble to hold on to power yet again being made by Massachusetts Democrats. Late last year before Kennedy expired a move was made to change the law back. See, Mass has a Democrat governor at present and an appointee made by him would be a Democrat. Problem, they were prevented from making the change because it was seen as political shenanigans.

NOW a Republican is looking as if he could beat the Democrat nominee for the seat and the current Democrat leadership in Massachusetts is poised to play more games by delaying the seating of the winner of next week’s special election to fill Kennedy’s seat. The reason? The current appointee (Paul Kirk, Jr) represents the 60th vote for cloture in the Senate and has said that he would vote for cloture even if the Republican (Scott Brown) prevails in the special election.

Alinsky’s Rules for Radicals are being executed to the letter in Mass apparently.

Brown has vowed to vote against cloture and his opponent Martha Coakley have vowed to vote in favor of cloture. It seems to this blogger that if Massachusetts is announcing now that they do not intend to seat the ultimate victor in next week’s special election immediately, that tells me they are willing to bypass the Will of the People yet again.

Many voting for Brown next week will be doing so specifically to block Obama’s Death Care bill. The decision not to seat the winner of next week’s election immediately is a political tactic that may have an even greater long-term negative impact for the Democrat Party.

As Massachusetts Dems play games, the Obama Infestation is looking to rush the Death Care compromise through both houses to minimize the destruction come November. If Independent voters nationwide see these moves in Massachusetts in context even more Democrat candidates will be looking for new work come next January. Seats once thought bulletproof for the Democrats are already in play. Many more could join them.

Huckster’s Potential 2012 Bid Already Over

During the 2008 Republican Presidential Primaries I made no secret of the fact that I am NOT a Mike Huckabee fan. It is my opinion that his background of being a Baptist minister is detrimental for America and it seems my instincts are correct.

As governor of Arkansas, Huckster granted in excess of 1,000 commutations of convicted criminals including 12 who were convicted of murder. There has been suggestion in some circles that he tended to grant commutations and pardons not on evidence before him as he suggested in a rebuttal printed on RedState but rather if the convict had found GOD within the prison walls. In his attempt to save face and deflect responsibility for commuting the sentence of a man who went on to murder 4 police officers in Washington, Mike “Huckster” Huckabee bravely states that he did not pardon Maurice Clemmons. This may be true. But the commutation of Clemmons made him eligible for parole which was ultimately granted.

Had Huckster kept his nose out of the Clemmons affair in the first place, Maurice would still have been sitting in a prison cell not out there killing police officers. The only thing that could be worse than what happened in Washington would be if Huckster got himself elected President in 2008. Lord only knows how many felons would have eventually been set free by this charlatan had he been just because they found GOD behind the prison wall.

Don’t get me wrong, I do believe that many people do find GOD after committing crimes. They do repent and they do seek forgiveness and it should be granted. But a debt to the state for the crimes committed is not relieved by GOD’s forgiveness.

Mike “Huckster” Huckabee is governed by his theology. A theology mind you that is fundamentally flawed might I add. He comes from the “once saved always saved” department of theological stupidity which confuses the lines drawn by GOD himself through His Word in Jesus Christ who said in the Gospel According to Matthew, “Then repay to Ceasar what belongs to Caesar and to GOD what belongs to GOD.” [1] In this context Christ was speaking of taxes but a debt to the state is a debt to the state. In this case, prison time owed to the state for a crime committed should not have been altered simply because one finds religion behind the prison walls. This is akin to an terrorist not killing you because you suddenly proclaimed belief in the 8th century pedophile prophet Mohamed. Whether you actually do or not is immaterial.

Under a President Huckster, the exit lines at our nation’s prisons would be filled with a new wave of born again types who suddenly understood that declaring a belief in GOD was a ticket to freedom. That is something that cannot be permitted.

He may lead in every single straw poll being conducted, but it is my belief that his political future is forever tainted. In this way, he and Gary Hart have a lot in common.

For the record, I do not wish to offend my Protestant colleagues but this is an individual who poses a threat to ending the free spending ways of the Democrats currently in charge. He is unelectable and would be ineffective as a chief executive. He raised taxes on the people in Arkansas and would have raised them on the American people.

24 Dem Targets For November 2010

The Republican Congressional Campaign Committee has identified 24 Democrat House members who voted for passage of the Pelosi Death Care bill and is targeting those 24 Democrats for defeat in November 2010. The RCCC has set-up a website called Reverse the Vote! to raise money for a war chest specifically aimed at defeating these 24 individuals who voted for the Pelosi bill in opposition to the will of their constituencies.

The list of 24 includes…

  • Rep. Berry (D AR-01)
  • Rep. Snyder (D AR-02).
  • Rep. Giffords (D AZ-08).
  • Rep. Salazar (D CO-03).
  • Rep. Bean (D IL-08)
  • Rep. Foster (D IL-14)
  • Rep. Donnelly (D IN-02)
  • Rep. Hill (D IN-09)
  • Rep. Carnahan (D MO-03)
  • Rep. Titus (D NV-03)
  • Rep. Shea-Porter (D NH-01)
  • Rep. Arcuri (D NY-24)
  • Rep. Bishop (D NY-21)
  • Rep. Hall (D NY-19)
  • Rep. Owens (D NY-23)
  • Rep. Driehaus (D OH-01)
  • Rep. Kilroy (D OH-15)
  • Rep. Space (D OH-18)
  • Rep. Schrader (D OR-05)
  • Rep. Dahlkemper (D PA-03)
  • Rep. Kanjorski (D PA-11)
  • Rep. Connolly (D VA-11)
  • Rep. Kagen (D WI-08)

Every dollar raised by Reverse the Vote! will be split 24 ways and used to defeat these 24 Democrats in the general election. Not one dime will be used in the primaries.

The hope is that these 24 individuals will see that the Republicans are taking a pro-active step to build a war chest to remove them from office and decide to not support the Death Care bill when it makes its return from Conference.

So if you have the means, please consider contributing whatever you feel most comfortable to Reverse the Vote! and help take back this country.

BOEHNER ON THE OBAMA BUDGET: “THE MORE HE TALKS ABOUT IT, THE LESS PEOPLE LIKE IT”

GOP BUDGET ALTERNATIVE SET TO CURB SPENDING, CREATE JOBS, & CONTROL DEBT

In a weekend story entitled “Weeks of Obama’s Budget Sales Pitch and Support Still Slips,” the Los Angeles Times reported that the more Americans learn about the President’s budget, the more unpopular it becomes. And a new Washington Post/ABC News poll released today found that the American people are increasingly skeptical about the President’s economic proposals. Republican Leader John Boehner (R-OH) addressed this point today at a press conference:

“There’s no question that [families and small businesses] are struggling and as they struggle it’s pretty clear that the budget that’s being presented by the President spends too much, taxes too much, and it borrows too much from our kids and grandkids. The President has been on this big road show over the last two weeks. He was out in California doing town hall meetings, he was on the Leno show, was on 60 Minutes, came up here last night to rally support for his budget, but it seems like the more he talks about it, the less people like it. And it’s clear that the numbers in support of his budget continue to collapse because as more Americans find out how much spending is in here and how much debt is going to be laid on the backs of our kids and grandkids, it continues to lose support.” (AUDIO)

Working on a better solution, Budget Committee Ranking Republican Paul Ryan (R-WI) previewed the GOP alternative he will unveil tomorrow, noting it will be “a budget that is lower on spending, that is lower on deficits, that is lower on taxes, that is lower on debt and higher on jobs.” Ryan also pointed to a chart highlighting the stark difference in spending and debt between the Obama budget and the Republican alternative:

While the Obama budget spends too much, taxes too much, and borrows too much, the GOP alternative set to be introduced tomorrow will strengthen the economy and restore fiscal sanity by letting families and small businesses keep more of what they earn; ensuring federal budget doesn’t grow faster than family budgets; committing to real entitlement reform and expanding Americans’ access to affordable health care; ending the bailouts to protect taxpayers; reducing gas prices through an “all of the above” energy plan; and fighting inflation so prices of goods and services remain stable.

I don’t care what the GOP says now, I want action. I’ve had enough of the talk. If it were not for Conservatives, nare a one of them would hold office. If they don’t listening, they will find out what it’s really like to be left out in the cold. How dare they treat us like idiots!

We have supported them through thick and thin, and they want us to believe that all of a sudden they remembered why we sent them there? HA! No way. I’m a ’show me’ type of gal, and I’m very angry.

Speaking about herding hundreds of cats, why is it they don’t remember NOT to spend money when we have a Republican president? I love George Bush, but I did not agree with everything he put forward.

Let’s see:

Prescriptions for free? Ha! Why do I have to pay for Bill Gates’ medication?
No Child Left Behind? WE ARE NOT THE EDUCATION BUSINESS.
Illegal alien amnesty? We shut that down right quick.

And that’s only a few. As quickly and harshly as we shut down the push to give ILLEGAL aliens amnesty, that is nothing in comparison to how quickly we will throw these bums out. I’ve had it. No more money. Stop calling me. Stop cutting down those trees to send me junk mail. Just stop it.

Do your job. They may have a wee bit of credibility IF they had shown an ounce of stones when they were in charge. Boehner has to go. He is not a leader. None of them ever stood up for President Bush when he was under attack. No. They just ran and hid in the DhimmiRats caucus. We do NOT need people of that ilk.

Have a blessed day.

House Republicans Unveil The True Road to Recovery

via email…

WASHINGTON, D.C. – House Republican Leader John Boehner (R-OH) today issued the following statement on the “Road to Recovery,” a detailed plan to curb spending, create jobs, and control the debt, in contrast to the irresponsible budget proposed by President Obama and the Democratic-controlled Congress, which spends too much, taxes too much and borrows too much:

“Families and small businesses across America are struggling and looking to Washington for solutions. Unfortunately, the President’s budget spends too much, taxes too much, and borrows too much. Republicans have a better solution. Our Road to Recovery plan curbs spending, creates jobs and cuts taxes, and controls the debt at a time when the American people deserve responsible answers during this economic crisis. The President’s budget will hurt the economy and destroy jobs. By contrast, our Road to Recovery plan will strengthen the economy, create jobs, and restore fiscal sanity in Washington.

“This isn’t the first time Republicans offered better solutions, and the President and Democrats in Congress know that. This year, House Republicans have offered alternatives on the economy and jobs, children’s health care, college and retirement savings, and housing. Now, our Road to Recovery plan builds on the better budget principles I outlined for the President last week. It’s time for Washington Democrats to start doing what’s in the best interests of the American people and work with us to produce a fiscally-responsible budget that creates jobs and helps middle-class families.”

NOTE: The House GOP’s Road to Recovery plan curbs spending, creates jobs and lowers taxes, and controls the debt by:

  • Letting families and small businesses keep more of what they earn;
  • Ensuring federal budget doesn’t grow faster than family budgets;
  • Committing to real entitlement reform and expanding Americans’ access to affordable health care;
  • Ending the bailouts to protect taxpayers;
  • Reducing gas prices through an “all of the above” energy plan; and
  • Fighting inflation so prices of goods and services remain stable.

I was once again invited to participate in a conference call with Rep. Boehner this morning where he outlined this plan. Participants were given an opportunity to ask questions. I asked…

As the Democrat Caucus pushes forward with implementing the President’s budget and in the process eliminates his much touted “Middle-Class tax cut”, is the GOP Caucus prepared to take the Democrats and their President to the mat in the coming election (meaning the midterms) and remind the American people who exactly is responsible for raising taxes on the poorest segment of the population during the recession with the elimination of the 10% tax bracket and increased taxes on tobacco and other consumer products?

In his answer the Minority Leader assured us that we “don’t have to worry about that”. That a number of really good Conservative candidates are coming forward to challenge the liberals in the upcoming midterms.

The reason I asked the question was that the Democrats were left virtually unchallenged in the 2006 & 2008 elections on the subject of tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans when in fact the Bush tax cuts created a lower tax bracket that was previously non-existent. When they are allowed to expire, that 10% bracket will be eliminated and those taxpayers currently paying that lowest rate will see a 50% increase in their rate when they find themselves back in the 15% bracket. Combine that with the implementation of new taxes on tobacco products on April 1st of this year and calls for an increase in the gasoline tax, the regressive nature of the Obamaramadingdong’s budget and tax proposals will hit all Americans. But they will have a larger impact on the poorest of the population. I am concerned that the liberal media will cover over these facts come election time should the GOP mount an ineffective campaign against the liberal fiction machine.

Another Ohio Blogger asked about the lack of Blue Dog Democrat opposition to the Obamaramadingdong’s agenda to which Rep. Boehner said that they are nothing more than “lap dogs for Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, and President Obama”. And that there are very few actual Conservative Democrats in the House.

When Justin Higgins brought up the subject of the national tea parties and asked whether or not they are being getting any attention on ‘the Hill’, Rep. Boehner reminded us that the hastily thrown together legislation that House Dems put together to insulate themselves from responsibility in the AIG bonus fiasco was a result of public outrage and that Congress responds to the engaged electorate. From this I took that we should be wearing out the phone lines, bombarding the emails, clogging the fax machines, and generally making ourselves into a force that the elected elites cannot ignore and eventually, we’ll get heard.

There have been calls on the public to send tea bags to their elected officials to protest the fiscal irresponsibility of the current Congress and their President – Obamaramadingdong. My information is that these tea bags are NOT being received by your elected elites. Because the bags can contain a potentially hazardous substance, they are being disposed of before delivery. Instead, the current method is to remove the tag from the tea bag and mail that in.

Just think, a typical box of tea bags contains 100 bags of tea. One has the ability to enjoy the tea and send each Senator a tea bag tag from just 1 box. Estimated retail cost $3. Postage on the other hand…

RNC Chairman Michael Steele’s Rebuttle to Obamaramadingdong’s State of the Economy

WASHINGTON– Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Michael Steele released the following statement tonight:

“Watching President Obama address our nation–and feeling the pride that is in every American’s heart–it’s worth pausing to celebrate our nation’s achievements. Yet even as we mark this historic event, we recognize the deep problems that continue to face our nation. Republicans are eager to work with President Obama on the challenges he discussed, especially restoring fiscal responsibility and growing our economy.

“After last year’s State of the Union, then-candidate Barack Obama asked the nation to imagine a time when a President’s agenda would draw standing ovations from both sides of the aisle. That sort of bipartisanship is an admirable goal–and one that unfortunately continues to elude Washington. The Democratic leadership in Congress must be willing to work with Republicans to stop out-of-control spending, promote the creation of jobs, and to keep our troops properly funded.

“Now would be a good time for this young Administration to ask the Democrat leaders in Congress to actually consider working in a bipartisan way to solve the real problems Americans are facing.

“I am more confident than ever that the American people will stand up for the principles our nation was founded on and will hold their representatives accountable to overcome the challenges that this nation faces.” emphasis mine

Unfortunately I do not share Chairman Steele’s optimism when speaking of bipartisanship when it comes to Reid, Pelosi, and especially Obamaramadingdong. I applaud his work in implementing his stated goals within the GOP BUT any hope of compromise and working together with the Obama Infestation is a pipe dream.

Bipartisanship is unattainable in the current political climate in Washington. With the Democrats heavily indebted to the extreme left and the GOP in rebuilding mode, I don’t see any wiggle room especially when bipartisanship to Democrats means Republican capitulation.

Those who voted against The Democrat Lard Act of 2009 need to keep that unity. Along with that the RNC led by Steele, the Republican Senatorial Campaign Committee, and the rank-in-file need to put pressure on Snowe, Collins, and Specter to bring them into line BEFORE any more additional harm is done to this nation.

Obama Sees No Need to Suspend Debate Question is Why?

Republican Presidential Nominee John McCain announced Wednesday that he was suspending his campaign beginning today as he returns to Washington so that he can do the job that he was elected to do. This suspension of his campaign is said to include postponement of his debate with Democrat Nominee Barry Obama if needed. Obama said that he didn’t see a need to postpone the debate and that the next President should be able to multi-task. But what is the real reason why Obama is so anxious to see this debate go off but refused to meet McCain out among the people in town-hall forums around the country. Well I believe that I know the answer to that question.

Barry has been holed-up in Clearwater, FL for days preparing for a moderated debate where he has to be able to give answers without the aid of a teleprompter. He’s been practicing for this debate and any delay might cause the effectiveness of this practice to be diminished.

Here’s the evidence (WARNING VIDEO CONTAINS QUESTIONABLE LANGUAGE)…

Barry can ill-afford to be caught like a deer in headlights like he was at Saddleback. As someone who is as staunchly pro-death as he is, he shouldn’t have come across as such a indecisive twit like he did. One of the major attractions for those who confuse articulate rhetoric with the ability to lead has been Obama’s command of the English language. Which if you watched the video was sorely lacking at Saddleback. Why? No teleprompter.

So Barry has been in Florida in an eleventh-hour cram session like a college student preparing for an exam in a subject that he’s weak on. He cannot afford a delay which is precisely why a delay may be necessary in my opinion.

On a related note…

It took an invitation from the White House for Barry to tear himself away from his debate preparation and attend a bipartisan meeting with McCain and President Bush. How sad is that?
