Rep. Jim Jordan (R OH-4) has issued a statement in response to President Barack Obama’s State of the Union (aka: Democrat pep talk).
For the past year, President Obama and Speaker Pelosi have led the nation on a reckless course of uncontrolled spending and a massive new government expansion into the private businesses and personal lives of Americans.
These big-government policies, from the $787 billion stimulus bill that failed to create jobs, to the budgets and bailouts that are creating an insurmountable debt for our children and grandchildren, have been disastrous to our economy.
Tonight, the President said he wants to increase federal spending even more, then “freeze” spending at an ultra-high level. Continuing this irresponsible level of spending will further put this country on a collision course with disaster.
Last week, the voters of Massachusetts sent a clear message to Washington – stop the big spending. The President heard the same message when he visited with job-creators in Ohio last week – big spending doesn’t create jobs.
I have supported the concept of a freeze, but the baseline number must be much lower. If the President is willing to freeze non-security spending at the levels from when he took office last year – before the stimulus, before the other big increases – then you will find Republicans ready to work with him.
If the administration is serious about fiscal responsibility, then let’s get to work – but it’s going to take more than budget gimmicks and bloated baselines to get our economy moving again.
The only reason why Obama is proposing a freeze on spending now is to insure that Republicans don’t lower spending on the designated programs for the remainder of his Infestation. The numbers being thrown around concerning budget savings generated by the proposed freeze are insignificant in relation to the over-all budget. It is my feeling that this proposal by Obama is disingenuous. He only wants to insure that the political payoffs that he was able to forced through Congress while his Party had the 60-vote super majority remain in place.
Last week I was watching an interview on Fox News that involved Bob Beckel (Democrat Strategist) and a Conservative (who I don’t recall). Beckel was attempting to make a point that allowing the Bush tax cuts to expire is “just allowing them to return to Clinton era levels”. Fine Bob. How about we first cut spending back to Clinton era levels before we mess with tax rates. Then if the country is still running a budget deficit, we can discuss tax increases. Because raising taxes will do nothing to cut the deficit as long as Congress continues to spend money.
Oh, and before the Clintonian Koolaid Kids claim that I’m endorsing Clinton era policies remember 1 thing. A Republican Congress passed the budget that ran a surplus. More over, it was a Republican who wrote the bill – John Kasich who happens to be running for Governor of Ohio.
Former United States Congressman and Ohio Gubernatorial candidate Republican John Kasich announced his pick for the next Lt. Governor of Ohio, Auditor of State Mary Taylor.
It truly is a new day in Ohio and I am excited to join John Kasich as we embark on a mission to transform state government as we know it.
The failed policies of the past three years have resulted in a 10.6 percent unemployment rate and the loss of 330,000 jobs. Ohio can’t take it anymore.
John Kasich and I will use our experience and accomplishments to reinvent state government. We will work together to bring jobs back to Ohio because we know that if government gets out of our way, Ohioans will prosper.
I am excited about this winning ticket and the more John and I talk and discuss the important issues facing our state, the more I realize how similar our record of leadership and accomplishments really is and how much this partnership truly makes sense.
I hope you will join us as we spend the next several months outlining our plans to establish an environment conducive for job growth and prosperity for all Ohioans.
Mary Taylor tried to warn Uncle Ted that he was facing a hole that he couldn’t spend his way out of but he wouldn’t listen. Now Mary is joining John Kasich in building a team that will not only bring Ohio out of that hole but create a business environment that will attract new businesses to the Buckeye State.
Our businesses are leaving us at an alarming rate. Why? Because of the aggressive tax system in place in Ohio. Kasich and Taylor want to eliminate the estate tax (6%) and phase out the income tax. These efforts along with other pro-business initiatives will create an environment that people want to live and work in. And if the costs of business go down, jobs will come back.
I’ve been meaning to comment on November’s unemployment numbers since their release but have been pulled in several other directions and my blogging efforts are the casualty. That said, here are my thoughts on the massive recovery in the job sector…
First off, and this may be news to all the pinheads who believe the Infestation’s estimations of the nation’s unemployed, a .2% drop in new jobless claims in November does not a recovery make. Let’s first take a look at what month we are talking about – November. What happens in November Class? Anybody? Short answer – seasonal hiring.
That’s right campers, that miraculous .2% tumble in new jobless claims can in all likelihood be attributed to seasonal hiring in the retail sector. Come January, I see a massive jump in new jobless claims as those who are currently taking part-time retail work to put presents under the tree for their kids suddenly find themselves again looking for work.
Next, let us not forget that the numbers used to gauge the nation’s unemployed are NEW Jobless Claims as filed in the various states. It does not count those who are already in the system. It also does not count those who take part-time (or seasonal) work or other menial jobs for less pay than that which they were receiving in their former positions. This is called – mark this down libtards, it is a word that you have obviously never heard of – underemployed. The underemployment rate in this country is estimated to be between 17 and 18 percent. A disastrous number if the average American Lemming were to ever take the time to understand.
Since the beginning of this recession an estimated 7 million jobs have been lost. Approximately 4 million of those jobs have been lost since Emperor Barry took command. Unemployment has more than doubled under his watch as the federal budget deficit has tripled. The government is spending like crazy and making fictitious claims of “saving” jobs. Now the Turd-in-Chief wants to spend nearly $200 Billion more under the guise of creating jobs?!? It is time someone cut up Mr. Obama’s National Debt Credit Card.
There is one major reason why employers are not hiring right now and it is a concept that libtards cannot understand if you presented them with full color animated illustrations. Uncertainty.
With a certainty of a massive tax increase as the Bush tax cuts sunset combined with the uncertainty over health care reform, the lack of credit being extended to small and medium sized businesses, and a daily barrage of legislative proposals designed to crater the market economy of the United States, employers are apprehensive about hiring anyone at this point.
The word tax means to impede. Taxes are an impediment to the private sector. As tax rates increase, the number of jobs decrease. As jobs evaporate, government revenues evaporate as well. The liberal answer to lower government revenue is to raise tax rates which in turn eliminates additional jobs.
It is a mistake to believe that doubling down on the mistakes which create an atmosphere in which fewer people support the masses will improve the situation. As fewer and fewer people are contributing to the government through taxes on income, the less able the government is going to be to support the dependency state which they have created for the rest of the population.
Try as they may to shift the blame for the current economic conditions in this country to the Bush Administration, this President and his Administration are responsible for this economy. The President said that if Congress did not pass his $787 billion Porkulus package unemployment would rise over 8%. They passed it, he signed it, and unemployment hit a 26 year high of 10.2% anyway. Obama owns this recession so do not let them get away with their attempts to pawn off their responsibility. Remember, the worse the unemployment rate got under the Bush Administration was 6.5% (in 2008).
The 10% unemployment numbers for November are still extremely bad. Don’t be fooled into thinking this Infestation has finally gotten their collective heads out of their proverbial backsides because new jobless claims dropped an anemic .2%.
.2% of 7 million unemployed is a relatively insignificant number.
Emperor Barry and his vast cadre of imbeciles continually tout one of the few campaign promises that His Majesty has actually gotten implemented but they have failed to point out something detrimental to the American people as a result of the Imperial Tax Credit. The Treasury Department failed to account for people with multiple jobs and families with multiple incomes when it adjusted federal income tax withholding tables as part of the Emperor’s tax credit. As a result, many will owe more in taxes this tax year.
When will the American people wake up and realize that for every liberal good intention there is a massively harmful side affect? Liberal programs inevitably cost hundreds of times more than originally estimated but yet they keep passing more and more social programs with “good intentions”. They implement social programs without thinking anything through or considering the possible damaged caused in doing so. Want and example? How about Cash for Clunkers for one.
Cash for Clunkers was originally intended to last 4 months. It lasted 4 days on its original funding which needed to be supplemented and the program had to be drastically shortened or run the risk of being a complete failure. Most dealers in fact are actually still waiting to be reimbursed by the federal government for approved Cash for Clunkers deals. The program removed perfectly good cars from the private sector and destroyed them in a way where not even the parts were salvageable.
Now this same government which is incapable of thinking long term to identify harmful effects created by the legislation that they pass, are on the verge of destroying the private sector health care industry in the name of fairness. Their claims? 47 million “Americans” are without health care coverage but the dominant proposal on Capital Hill will fail to insure 30 million of these “Americans”. First I must point out that many of the “Americans” that the Imperial Infestation and Liberal Majority in Congress are identifying in that 47 million number aren’t even US citizens.
Back to the point of the Obama Tax Credit I have to include that it is nothing more than a shell game. A tax credit that has no hope of having long term benefits to the American people or the American economy. It was a simple matter of making good on a bumper sticker campaign promise in order to say, “See, I told you that I’d give a tax break to 95% of Americans.” In reality it actually says, “here, take this ineffective one-time tax credit and while you do, we’ll allow the Bush Tax Cuts, which have kept this economy from completely crashing, to expire.” But yet, they aren’t raising taxes on lower or middle income Americans. But aren’t they?
It seems to me that the Bush Tax Cuts included the creation of the 10% tax bracket and dropped millions of the lowest income Americans from the taxpayer rolls entirely. When they expire, those paying 10% will have their tax liability increase 50% (from 10% – 15%). Still more low income Americans who have a tax liability of 0% will now be taxed at 15%.
Now what about those middle income Americans that Obama promised to not tax? Well their personal rates may fall. Yes I said fall. But that is only because their incomes will be falling as well. It is impossible to tax someone who no longer has an income. Many of these people are going to be finding themselves out of work. Under Obamanomics we already have 10.2% unemployment. As these tax rates are increased many more will be joining those already on the unemployment ranks.
Speaking of the unemployment numbers, this 10.2% number doesn’t even include those who are actually out of work and quit looking or those who have taken part-time work (underemployed). Many experts have indicated that the actual unemployment/underemployment rate is somewhere north of 16%.
I’m sorry people, any time the net effect of an action or inaction by the federal government results in a rise in the tax rate that is in fact a tax increase. The Bush Tax Cuts expire next year and as they do those who create jobs will have an increase in their personal tax liability. When this happens, fewer jobs will be created.
The Emperor claimed prior to the Porkulus Package that if we didn’t pass his plan unemployment would reach the very scary rate of 8%. Well campers, here it is 9 months later and unemployment is sitting at 10.2% and looking skyward.
The rise of Emperor Barry is synonymous with the rise of the dependency class. How can someone who has been a member of the dependency class all or part of their life expect to climb out of the trap if others are being added to the dependency rolls on a daily basis? It is absurd to think that the path to prosperity is through government dependency. Prosperity is gauged by the level of economic mobility achieved. Economic mobility is the ONLY measure of true freedom. Without it, you are dependent.
We as a people are quickly becoming the Emperor’s peasant class. Without his benevolent patronage, we will all suffer and starve. This is the Utopia vision that Barack Hussein Obama has in store for all of us only he is afraid to tell you himself. But the picture of his vision is evident in his proposals and in his actions. It is being openly spoken of by those he is obviously indebted to like Andy Stern of SEIU and former members of his inner circle like Anita Dunn and Vince Jones. The big question is, are you listening?
Anyone who believes the media in the United States is controlled by right leaning ideologues must have been in a drug induced coma for the past 9 years and missed the whole media bombardment of Richard Nixon in the mid 70’s. The garbage wrapper most responsible for all of Nixon’s trouble in 1974 is now turning on a Democrat – one Charles Rangel (D NY-15).
In what can only be termed as liberal cannibalism, WAPO says…
We called on Mr. Rangel to resign his coveted post last November while the House ethics committee probed his contact with a potential donor to a pet project who also had business before the committee. Mind you, that committee already was looking into his using official stationery to raise funds for that pet project, paying below-market rents on four Harlem apartments, failing to report income from a Florida condominium sale and failing to pay taxes on a home in the Dominican Republic. There’s another subcommittee investigation into lobbyist-paid trips by Mr. Rangel and four other members of Congress.
Much is expected of elected officials. Much more is expected and demanded of those entrusted with chairmanships and the power that comes with them, especially when it involves the nation’s purse strings. From all that we’ve seen thus far, Mr. Rangel has violated that trust continually and seemingly without care.
Democrats never let a short-coming of any Republican go without pressuring a resignation. In this case, the Dems are conspicuously silent and the Republicans aren’t doing any better. A tax cheat is in charge of writing tax law and another is charged with enforcing tax law. The Obama Infestation is teeming with radicals and criminals but no one in the press seems to care and the Republicans are perfectly content to allow the Dictator-in-Chief have his way without challenge.
Charlie Rangle thought that he could get away with not disclosing over half his income but yet he is left in charge of writing tax law for this Congress? He has already written into the Porkulus increased enforcement penalties for those who attempt to cheat on their taxes but somehow I think he’ll escape prosecutions, interest, and/or penalties.
In 2006, SanFran Nan used the term “Culture of Corruption” as a tool to fraudulently gain the majority in both houses of Congress. At the time, we on the right warned you that Democrats are the true “Culture of Corruption” but you didn’t listen. With a track record that could circumnavigate the earth multiple times, the Democrats are known for short-cutting the system, political favors, pay-offs, and pay-to-play schemes.
In 1960, it was the Democrats who benefited from the mob stuffing the ballot box in Chicago which resulted in John Kennedy defeating Richard Nixon for the Presidency and launched the mythical comparison of the Kennedy family with Camelot. But no one complained. At least those who did were ignored.
From Kennedy’s victory to his brother’s not being charged for murdering Mary Jo Kopechne to the unindicted co-conspirator (Jack Murtha) to William “Cold Cash” Jefferson to Charlie Rangel (among numerous others which I haven’t the room to list), the Democrat party has been corrupt since the days of Tammany Hall.
Today we have Chicago mob style politics complete with threats from the Chief of Staff and pay-for-play. They use union thugs to use intimidation and violence against anyone who opposes the Emperor. Anyone who says Chicago mob style politics is NOT corrupt should have a head CT because something is amiss in their cranium.
Do I think Charlie Rangel should resign his position on the Ways and Means Committee? Hell yeah I do. As-a-matter-of-fact, I’d like to see every last Democrat in national office resign because their isn’t an honest one among them. They are all corrupt. And the vast majority of them do not have the best interest of this country in mind when they go to work. They are progressives. And what do progressives seek to progress toward? SOCIALISM!
In true Alinskyite fashion, the ends will justify the means. If the goal is achieved, how you got to that goal does not matter. You can cheat (they do). You can steal (they have). You can lie (they are). If they are talking they are lying. If they are running for office, they are cheating. And if they lose and it goes to a recount, they will magically inherit hundreds of votes thereby effectively stealing the election (ask Norm Coleman).
Rangel is a symptom and we cannot just focus on him. He needs to go – yes. But so do Congressional Democrats and the entire Infestation because it is comprised of thugs, thieves, criminals, and radicals. They are the disease of American politics. Corrupt from the top down and in all directions. Thus creating another “I told you so moment” for Gribbit’s Word because I warned you Obama was a radical before the election. And you, as usual, ignored me. America, it is your fault these turds have power. When are you going to quit drinking the Democrat Kool-aid and think for yourselves?
Recent events in this nation have begun to raise some questions about how far we have drifted away from the original intent of the founding fathers of this country. A nation originally conceived as a collection of smaller countries. Each state maintaining a level of sovereignty in the world but banded together for mutual defense. Our nation actually has 2 founding documents. The first, the Declaration of Independence put the world on notice that we no longer considered ourselves subjects of the British Monarch King George III. But more especially, it put King George III on notice that we were not going to accept his oppressive treatment any longer without a fight. The second founding document, established a governmental framework around which that mutual defense was to be structured. This document is the Constitution.
The Constitution is the people’s permission for the federal government to operate. As originally written, any issue not directly given as a responsibility of the federal government was to be left to the states. As specified in the 10th Amendment.
“The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.”
The supreme authority in the United States is actually granted to us, the people, by our Creator as stated in the Declaration of Independence. The Declaration was much more than our asserting our emancipation from an oppressive dictator, it was our establishment as a people. This establishment went on without direction until after the American Revolutionary War when the Articles of Confederation were established. This loose agreement among the newly freed former colonies of the British crown established them as independent states with no way to settle disputes among them. This facilitated the Constitutional Convention which was empowered by the states to refine the existing Articles of Confederation.
When it was convened a decision was quickly made that the current Articles of Confederation were so flawed that they needed to be abandoned and a new agreement of the states needed to be made.
The intent of those who drafted our Constitution need not be interpreted as those who believe that it is a living breathing and evolving document would have you believe. For the love of Pete it is written in English. The intent is just as clear today as it was in 1787 when it was signed. The United States was and is to be a Constitutional Federal Republic in that the political power of the nation is to be centered in the various states NOT as some would have you believe the federal government.
Upon its signing, the US Constitution was nothing more than 7 Articles establishing the responsibilities of the Congress, President, Supreme Court and subordinate courts, interstate relations, a method of amendment, an establishment of authorization for the payment of debts, supremacy, and oaths of office, and the mode of ratification. It was to be understood, that if the Constitution did not address an issue specifically, it was for the states themselves to deal with or the people.
The USA Began to Unravel Before the Ink Was Dry
Since it’s ratification in 1789, the United States Constitution has been modified for better or for worse according to Article V.
The first fracture in this limited government was made with the adoption of the Bill of Rights. Jefferson, the Democrat that he was, believed that by establishing a bill of rights it would open the Constitution up to assumptions. If the government can assume one right over the people, where would it end. We now know. It doesn’t end.
How Abortion Has Led to the Downfall of a Nation
The next crack was with the adoption of the 14th Amendment. As necessary as the 14th was at its time in history, the amendment was written so broadly that those who cannot understand that a document written in English needs no interpretation will find meaning in its lack of wording to define rights or responsibilities that were never intended. This is how a Constitutional right to terminate life can be found in an amendment adopted to establish citizenship for all persons living in the United States at a specific moment in time regardless of previous state of servitude; and that those persons could not be denied due process under the law. I’m sorry people but slavery has been illegal in the United States since 1862. NO ONE living in 1972 – or since – had ever been a slave. Subsequently they could not be denied due process of law based upon a previous status of servitude. The basis for the legalization of abortion in the United States as legislated by the Supreme Court – a clear violation of Articles I and III of the Constitution – could not and should not have been made by the Warren court. The Amendment cited does not apply.
In contrast to the Warren Court’s establishment of the superiority of the 14th Amendment over all other provisions of the US Constitution, the 10th Amendment shines brightly above it. Or at least with any free thinking individualist with skills to comprehend a sentence written in plain English.
“The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.”
Abortion is in the most liberal of terms a medical procedure. There is no Constitutional authority for the federal government to regulate, over-see, fund, or otherwise interfere with medical procedures in this country in spite of the establishment of Medicare and Medicaid. There simply exists no authorization the federal government to do so in the Constitution. However, under the 10th Amendment the states have such a right.
The Warren court decided to supercede the right of the State of Texas to deny a woman an abortion because the state had established the procedure as being not lawful within its jurisdiction. The Warren court’s decision to hear the case much less find some twisted “Constitutional right” was a clear violation of states’ right as defined under the 10th Amendment. Their justification for even hearing the case in the first place – interstate commerce. A medical procedure – legal or illegal – has suddenly become a matter of interstate commerce. This will be the justification for Obamacare next. But I digress.
With this decision, the Warren court made it possible to argue that since every product and/or service performed in this country – legal or illegal – has an intrinsic value and might be a cause for an individual to cross a state line in order to seek said product or service, it is automatically a matter of interstate commerce and thus the jurisdiction of the federal government. And if a product or service is denied to a citizen of a state by the state, it can be argued that the citizen’s rights of due process have been violated even though, that person had no previous condition of servitude.
Using that argument, in Nevada, anyone can walk into any public building and play a slot machine. Here in Ohio we cannot. Therefore my right to feed a potential gambling addiction (which I don’t have) cannot be satisfied. Because companies in Nevada supply these type of machines, it can be argued that Ohio’s anti-gambling laws constitute a violation of my 14th amendment rights under interstate commerce. I don’t have readily available access to those machines. (note: this is actually a better argument for interstate commerce due process interference than the Roe decision was.)
In a sense, the Roe decision opened the 14th amendment up for bastardization by any liberal crazy with a wild hair to do anything that is currently forbidden by a state government.
The Income Tax and the Beginning of Class Warfare
The next modification to our Constitution that contributed to our demise as a country is the 16th Amendment. A very simple amendment the establishment of an income tax.
The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes on incomes, from whatever source derived, without apportionment among the several States, and without regard to any census or enumeration.
This removed the requirement established in Article I requiring an enumeration of the people before the levying of any taxes in Article I Section 2 Paragraph 3. I know the reason for doing so however, that does not justify the levying taxes without an enumeration of the people as required by our founders. Removing the racial make-up and devaluation of the human-being implied by Article 1 Section 2, it still should be required that if any new tax is to be imposed on the people, an enumeration of the populous should be conducted in order to know how much revenue would be generated by said tax. This only makes common sense and thus why it was originally written into article I.
This income tax has been a vehicle by which a particular political party has created a separation of the people based solely on one’s ability to earn. Hard work, effort, and the taking of risks in this country is what makes it great. Those who wish to impose some twisted sense of social equality based solely on existence have created in a sense a war among the classes that takes place every 4 years at the ballot. Those who ‘have’ continue to be vilified in this nation rather than rewarded for creating wealth and providing opportunities for others to establish themselves and provide for their families. A progressive and overly burdensome tax system has been implemented in order to spread the wealth in a quest to redistribute the wealth of the nation according to Karl Marx and Frederick Engels.
The worst kept political secret in this nation is that the Democrat party has been working towards full implementation of social Communism by way of income redistribution. And the vehicle used most often is the 16th Amendment.
The Popular Election of Senators – The States Are Removed from the Equation
With the passage and ratification of the 17th Amendment, the people would in a sense have two Houses of Representatives. Originally, the state legislatures had the responsibility of appointing 2 Senators in different term classes to the United States Senate for terms of 6 years. This is outlined in Article 1 Section 3 of the Constitution.
The Senate of the United States shall be composed of two Senators from each State, chosen by the Legislature thereof, for six Years; and each Senator shall have one Vote.
Being appointed by the state legislature made a Senator accountable to the state from which he/she was appointed. This gave the state more power. With the passage of the 17th Amendment, the people of this nation removed this accountability to the states and in a sense made the states subservient to the federal government. And the end of our Republic was begun.
Clause 1. The Senate of the United States shall be composed of two Senators from each State, elected by the people thereof, for six years; and each Senator shall have one vote. The electors in each State shall have the qualifications requisite for electors of the most numerous branch of the State legislatures.
Clause 2. When vacancies happen in the representation of any State in the Senate, the executive authority of each State shall issue writs of election to fill such vacancies: Provided That the legislature of any State may empower the executive thereof to make temporary appointments until the people fill the vacancies by election as the legislature may direct.
Clause 3. This amendment shall not be so construed as to affect the election or term of any Senator chosen before it becomes valid as part of the Constitution.
As of the ratification of the 17th Amendment, we are no longer a collection of 50 separate and independent nations, we are nothing more than 50 provinces or districts within the out of control monster known as the United States.
Conclusion
Many cite the Constitution as the ultimate authority in the United States. This idea is nothing more than fiction. It is the will of the people as expressed by the people. We will it or it cannot be so. This authority is granted to us by GOD and declared to the world as such by the Declaration of Independence.
With the growing emergence of the sovereignty movement among the states, I can see a day when the United States as we know it could – and I emphasize the word COULD – be obsolete. If every one of the 50 states declared itself independent again – like the Constitution originally intended – then perhaps a new agreement among the states could replace the now totally flawed and bastardized Constitution like it replaced the Articles of Confederation. One could only hope.
Eighty-One Percent of Americans Believe Middle-Class Tax Relief is Important to Keep in Budget, New Survey Shows
WASHINGTON, DC – House Republican Leader John Boehner (R-OH) today challenged President Obama’s apparent decision to allow the Democratic-controlled Congress to dump his long-promised middle-class tax cut from the FY 2010 budget, and vowed Republicans will offer a better budget that cuts taxes for middle-class families instead of raising them through a new national energy tax.
“This is an epic bait-and-switch that should infuriate every middle-class family in America,” Boehner said. “The American people overwhelmingly believe middle-class tax relief is essential to getting our economy moving again. But instead of cutting taxes for middle-class families, Washington Democrats are raising their taxes by as much as $3,100 a year in the middle of a deep recession.”
President Obama’s budget director, Peter Orszag, has endorsed both the House and Senate versions of the President’s FY 2010 budget – but according to the New York Times, “neither would extend a middle-class tax cut championed by Mr. Obama beyond 2010 unless a source of revenue to pay for it is identified.” Meanwhile, Boehner noted that a new national energy tax insisted upon by the President will hit virtually every American family and small business and could cost every American household up to $3,100 a year. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) confirmed this in public comments last week in which he indicated Democrats will use revenue from the President’s new national energy tax to pay for an expansion of government-run health care.
According to a Rasmussen survey released today, 81 percent of Americans believe it is important for Congress to pass a budget that includes the middle-class tax relief that was frequently promised but now abandoned by President Obama. Only 15 percent say the promised middle-class tax relief is not important.
“The Democratic budget spends too much, taxes too much, and borrows too much,” Boehner said. “It will hurt middle-class families at a time when they can least afford it.”
“Americans deserve a better budget, and members of all political stripes will have the chance to vote for one when the full text of the GOP alternative being finalized by Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI) is released this week,” Boehner added. “Instead of raising taxes on middle-class families and all Americans through the President’s national energy tax, Republicans will do what the American people want their government to do: we will curb spending, control the debt, and reduce the tax burden on working families and small businesses to create jobs and ease the strain on family budgets.”
Obamaramadingdong campaigned promising big labor that he would impose penalties on companies that move American jobs off-shore. This got him millions of union votes from labor thinking that jobs would return as companies seek to avoid the punitive actions that Obama promised. However, Obamaramadingdong in his lack of vision hasn’t thought to himself, “If I tax these companies, what will they do?” The answer my friends is clear. Move their corporate headquarters offshore as well.
The tidy towns and mountain vistas of Switzerland are an unlikely setting for an oil boom.
Yet a wave of energy companies has in the last few months announced plans to move to Switzerland — mainly for its appeal as a low-tax corporate domicile that looks relatively likely to stay out of reach of Barack Obama’s tax-seeking administration.
In a country with scant crude oil production of its own, the virtual energy boom has changed the canton or state of Zug, about 30 minutes’ drive from Zurich, beyond all recognition. Its economy was based on farming until it slashed tax rates to attract commerce after World War Two.
Obama can’t impose taxes on a company that doesn’t do business in the United States. What’s next? Are they going to move their oil refining to China? That is very possible.
China won’t impose the silly restrictions on building new refineries as has been done in the US nor will it threaten any asinine “profit windfall tax” to stunt growth in these companies as has been called for among liberals on Capital Hill.
The nation is becoming well aware of the dangerous prospect of another 3 plus years of Obamaramadingdong in office. He, in all his Imperial wisdom, cannot understand that changes in the business environment in a global economy means that business will seek the most profitable solutions to any problems created by government.
Liberals in general believe that business in the US is static. That it won’t change. Just like raising income taxes on the so-called wealthy – they believe that the wealthy will always be wealthy and accept their taxation without a fight. I’m sorry to inform them but the wealthy in this country didn’t get that way by ignoring reductions in personal income. And let us not forget that it is the wealthy who employ the rest of us. Begin to cut into their standard of living and people who rely upon them for jobs will lose said jobs and become dependent upon mother state to provide.
But what will happen when mother state is no longer capable of providing because its tax base moved off-shore? Perhaps that is a question that the new President should face in the coming days.
Obama orchestrated a meeting of what he’s calling a fiscal responsibility panel made up of representatives from various special interest groups to decide how best to implement a plan to halve the federal budget deficit by the time the next President takes office. I say it in that way because it should be abundantly clear to Mr. Obamaramadingdong that he’s a one term wonder. Wonder in “how the hell did he get elected in the first place”.
The plan that emerged from this meeting of the federal parasites requires perfect conditions in order to accomplish the idea of cutting the budget shortfall by $530 billion by January 20, 2013. The planets must align. Each and every prayer of his must be answered, NOTHING can go wrong in the next 4 years – as in there cannot be another terrorist attack on this nation, there cannot be another oil price spike, and there cannot be any more natural disasters. In other words, the plan is unattainable.
If left to the Obamaramadingdong, the Bush tax cuts will expire at the beginning of next year, capital gains will spike back up, and the death tax will return. However, should YOU decide to replace the dead weight in Washington – namely the Democrats controlling the United States Congress (House and Senate) – then and only then can Obama’s plan to ruin this nation be short-circuited.
I find the idea that he has so little respect for this country that he could possibly believe that his Infestation could come up with anything that could be termed fiscal responsibility when he’s been on a drunken spending spree since he raised his right hand and promised to support and defend the Constitution – a lie if I ever heard one – so repugnant that I have nothing but contempt for the turd. Some one once said, “We may not like the man but we must respect the office”. To which I say, “Why should we respect the office when the man has nothing but contempt for it.”
Rep. Charles Rangel, Chairman of the Powerful House Ways & Means Committee, is in a bit of hot water for not declaring more than $75,000 in income between 1988 and 2007 on a rental property/second home in the Dominican Republic.
Representative Charles B. Rangel has earned more than $75,000 in rental income from a villa he has owned in the Dominican Republic since 1988, but never reported it on his federal or state tax returns, according to a lawyer for the congressman and documents from the resort.
Mr. Rangel, chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee, which writes the federal tax code, bought the beachfront villa at the Punta Cana Yacht Club and has received twice-yearly payments from the resort, which rents the property for $500 or more per night.
Records from the development, now called the Punta Cana Resort and Club, indicated that Mr. Rangel’s rental profits varied from year to year, from $2,700 in 2004 to $7,600 in 1994.
A lawyer for Mr. Rangel, Lanny Davis, said on Thursday that the congressman would most likely file amendments to his tax returns for the years in question.
Back taxes my arse, why isn’t this guy being indicted for tax evasion. I’ll wager the GDP of the Dominican Republic that if he were a Republican he would be facing tough questions from a Federal Grand Jury and an indictment. Where is New York’s version of Ronnie Earle – the prosecutor who is so in love with indictments, he twice indicted himself? Why isn’t Rangel in trouble for not paying taxes. Rest assured you would be!
I guess that Democrats who think they are above the law are immune to the premise put forward just recently by Joe Biden that not even Presidents are above the law. No Joe, just Democrats. Slick Willy should be in prison for lying to federal agents in a deposition – but he isn’t. Scooter Libby was sentenced to prison for less. So it is obvious that if you have a D next to your name, the law does not apply to you.
Rep. Jim Jordan (R OH-4) has issued a statement in response to President Barack Obama’s State of the Union (aka: Democrat pep talk).
For the past year, President Obama and Speaker Pelosi have led the nation on a reckless course of uncontrolled spending and a massive new government expansion into the private businesses and personal lives [...]
Former United States Congressman and Ohio Gubernatorial candidate Republican John Kasich announced his pick for the next Lt. Governor of Ohio, Auditor of State Mary Taylor.
From the John Kasich for Governor website Auditor Taylor writes…
It truly is a new day in Ohio and I am excited to join John Kasich as we embark on a [...]
I’ve been meaning to comment on November’s unemployment numbers since their release but have been pulled in several other directions and my blogging efforts are the casualty. That said, here are my thoughts on the massive recovery in the job sector…

Emperor Barry and his vast cadre of imbeciles continually tout one of the few campaign promises that His Majesty has actually gotten implemented but they have failed to point out something detrimental to the American people as a result of the Imperial Tax Credit. The Treasury Department failed to account for people with multiple jobs [...]
Anyone who believes the media in the United States is controlled by right leaning ideologues must have been in a drug induced coma for the past 9 years and missed the whole media bombardment of Richard Nixon in the mid 70’s. The garbage wrapper most responsible for all of Nixon’s trouble in 1974 is now [...]
Recent events in this nation have begun to raise some questions about how far we have drifted away from the original intent of the founding fathers of this country. A nation originally conceived as a collection of smaller countries. Each state maintaining a level of sovereignty in the world but banded together for mutual defense. [...]
Eighty-One Percent of Americans Believe Middle-Class Tax Relief is Important to Keep in Budget, New Survey Shows
WASHINGTON, DC – House Republican Leader John Boehner (R-OH) today challenged President Obama’s apparent decision to allow the Democratic-controlled Congress to dump his long-promised middle-class tax cut from the FY 2010 budget, and vowed Republicans will offer a better [...]
Obamaramadingdong campaigned promising big labor that he would impose penalties on companies that move American jobs off-shore. This got him millions of union votes from labor thinking that jobs would return as companies seek to avoid the punitive actions that Obama promised. However, Obamaramadingdong in his lack of vision hasn’t thought to himself, “If I [...]
Obama orchestrated a meeting of what he’s calling a fiscal responsibility panel made up of representatives from various special interest groups to decide how best to implement a plan to halve the federal budget deficit by the time the next President takes office. I say it in that way because it should be abundantly clear [...]
